Wael now following Isaac Hutchinson so that is that. Great signing but please can we get some official news out!! Would hope to see some announcements over the weekend, most of the top dogs are away in Italy next week meeting with Macron I think you might have hit the nail on the head here. A very clever lurker on the forum yesterday suggested why we haven't announced the signings. It's the kit. They want to announce the new players in the new kit. Meeting Macron at this time in the season seems to suggest: 1) We are starting the process for next seasons kit. 2) There have been issues with the current seasons kit. 3) There are payment issues to be discussed. 4) It's a celebration of getting another season kit out and a job we'll done. No 2 would fit the narrative thatvwe have signed these players but cannot get a new kit for them to be announced in. (Just a theory and not ITK) |

In previous years most new players have been announced in the old kit.
Normally we don’t announce the kit until late July as well.
If we’re planning on releasing our kit early I could buy it but that would rely on Tom Gorringe getting his act together and he’s only capable of doing that when there’s some way to boost his profile available.

It will only take half of that to get Evans. Let them spend, theres no magic formula in league one, they will be the scalp for all teams and they find it an ugly division compared to what they are used to. I’m happy that we are (apparently) looking at players with potential, young hungry players with possible sell on fees that will make us sustainable in the future. If the rumours are true, we are identifying goalkeeper, centre back, attacking midfielder and possibly right back positions. We need cover on the left side of defence and then the real focus must go on 3/4 strikers, or wingers, and we won’t be far off. Let the Billy big balls do all the shouting, I’m comfortable with MT and GF going about their work without having to let everyone know our business. You never know, with a few tweaks we might well be a dark horse. Keep the faith one and all! UTG |

I'm not clued up on football finances, but I thought (league one especially) you can only spend a percentage of what the clubs turn over is? |

Looks a good player but if he is replacing Evans he’s got a tough job on his hands. IMO Evans is one of the best players in league one. But hopefully with the Evans money we can get this guy plus a striker and a winger that can impact now and sell for a profit in the future. That’s the game of sustainable improvement. Exactly this. As sad as it can be to see our best players leave, as long as we do reinvest in potential then it’s the best way to go. Builds a more balanced team ultimately with more sell on potential. Conteh was a great signing imo and fits this mould. I hope we continue to go this route… Hutchinson fits it too. I’d be really impressed with that business. |

I'm not clued up on football finances, but I thought (league one especially) you can only spend a percentage of what the clubs turn over is? Unless the owners donate a few £m, it's probably a load of cobblers anyway. There's also a suggestion they are building the team to challenge in the Championship next season, like Ipswich did, but they'll need to get out of L1 first. |

Agreed, no point trying to keep a player who wants to move on. That said I'd be disappointed with anything less than £750k. |

64 pages about absolutely nothing definite in one of the most important transfer windows of recent times. I know we are in discussion with players - some would be cracking additions for sure. Just keen to get on with it. This week hopefully we will start to see the picture - Few more out and some now announced. |

Yeah, with players back next monday (and existing contracts ending this weekend), hopefully there will be 5-7 new and extended contracts confirmed by then. Worrying lack of rumours on both LB/LWB and strikers. Interesting and surprising to see Will Evans linked with Blackburn, big step up that. |
