I felt the recruitment was excellent last season, plus we had the player of the season in Collins. I was full of expectation, especially after nearly beating a good pompey side on thier own turf. I felt we had a solid foundation and built on that. I know it didn't work out for whatever reason. This season we are starting from scratch, taking a huge gamble giving long contracts to league 2 players and spending big on unproven, yet promising players. Im worried and extremely sceptical as to what will happen knowing how quickly things get toxic. I might regret not getting one, but for me it's pay on the day, then if things are dire I won't feel obliged to sit through the same punishment as the end of last season.

Where JB gave us hope, MT gives us despair! The only hope he gave me was that one day he would go forth and multiply and I am happy to say, he did. Now he is the problem of the police and not the fan base.

I was told we were 1200 down on last season's sales last week. Disappointing really when we have much more seating to sell now. Seems like love him or loathe him Barton put bums on seats with record sales last season. Pretty sure numbers are down because of the large price increase for some categories & not being able to spread the cost by an instalment plan more than it’s to do with the Barton effect. Cost, principal and kick offs being moved around are my reasoning, I’m not paying the price for a child’s ticket when it’s the same as a twenty one year old particularly to stand up, and before anyone shouts South Stand, I’ve no interest sitting behind a goal behind a pillar.

Quite staggering the sales over the last couple of weeks. We’re in block f and when I looked two weeks ago there were loads still unsold. And to think, those claiming hardly any were buying ST’s.. I was told we were 1200 down on last season's sales last week. Disappointing really when we have much more seating to sell now. Seems like love him or loathe him Barton put bums on seats with record sales last season. although a few on here will tell you they didn't come whilst JB was here but what you were told says different

I'm not sure that's correct. We ended the season terribly and had an overall poor To average season. Then all of a sudden we produce record season ticket sales. Even more than under lauded managers Darryl Clarke Ian Holloway Gerry Francis Etc etc etc There's no denying the fact the feel good factor around the club under Barton was far far better than under Taylor. He gave us all hope. Which reflected in sales. I'm not anti Taylor. But his football team so far has driven away fans in their hundreds not encouraged ticket sales. Let's hope he turns that around with his players this season. Are you a season ticket holder? Have you renewed? I havnt renewed this year no.

I actually think he's acted like a plonker since leaving us and I wouldn't want him back now. However he gave me and my boy probably the greatest rovers moment I've ever seen and won't ever see again so il be forever greatful for that.

First time in years I haven’t renewed my ST, the group I go to games with aren’t arsed after the performances at the end of last season.
Saying that I reckon I’ll still end up going to 80% of home games.

Easier to not renew this year with lack of payment plan and missing a reduced rate for teens, but mainly because with a 12K+ capacity the chances of missing out on games is much lower so not as big a risk/
Hopefully we start well and get some good cup ties and the club will benefit with lots of extra match by match income!

Break even on a season ticket was 14 games for me.

Where JB gave us hope, MT gives us despair! At least we won't be disappointed! I think that some decent signings have been made, could be an interesting season ahead. UTG

Apart from dropping out of the football league relegations are quickly forgotten. Our final day promotion will for many be the best day they ever had as a Rovers supporter - I don’t think a Rovers result will ever get such national and international ever again and I wouldn’t swap it for anything.

I was lucky enough to watch Rovers go top of the league against their local rivals and rip their hearts out one evening in Bath. The 2nd of May will always be the day of celebration that it should. Then lucky enough to be part of the mass pitch invasion at Blackpool after Paul Nixon scored. That was promotion to the 2nd tier of English football, not a promotion from league 2.

Dagenham promotion game was much better than the 7-0 imo, being the second promotion on the bounce and the jeopardy of the late breakthrough coupled with Accrington hammering their opposition's goal frame at the death. Be tough to top that day even without the morons running on the pitch mid match against Scunthorpe!

Be tough to top that day even without the morons running on the pitch mid match against Scunthorpe! The pitch invasion definitely took a little away from the 7-0. Instead of elation for the last 5 miniutes, we had what, half hour of stress not really knowing if they would come back out! Wasnt at Daggers unfortunately, but for me it goes 1. 2nd May 1990 followed by Blackpool 4-0 2J Igoes goal at Wembley 2J 7-0 4 Watching the Daggers result come in on Soccer Saturday 5 Grimsby penalty relief
