Problem is a manager's fate is sealed by the support he gets from the fans, as I said I just see fans rushing to buy ST's if we've lost to FGR/Eastleigh etc without even getting to Wembley., as that would seem to me as bad as last season's relegation, I'd need something to encourage me to watch another season of Conference football. Having said that we've still got all to play for this season. But is it sensible to take a leap into the dark every time we have a setback? Why would being disappointed automatically mean that another manager would be an improvement? If we come second and fail to go up, which manager is going to come in and be sure to do better than that? Old turnip-head from Yeovil? Surely it would make sense to build on what has been done with the man who has done it. That's how I'd see it anyway. Let's not take our position for granted. We could easily appoint someone else and finish 12th in this league next year.

Sorry, Gary, I couldn't resist that one. I'm sure you're a lovely chap but I reckon you've had your time and we had a manager from a higher level than yours who was a complete knob.
We've got a manager.

Oh the flipancy of football supporters. How many welcomed Holloway as the new massiah only to cast him as the devil encarnate a season later. How many were eternally gratefull to John Ward for saving us in our hour of need only to blame him for all of the clubs woes a season later. Bert Tan was one of the greatest managers we ever had and fans chanted to send him to the Vietnam war zone. Everybody I spoke to wanted Ray Graydon and look what happened there. I could go on. Darrell Clarke might turn out to be a great manager we will see. However Gary Johnson has a proven record in managment and might be a good manager here if the position became vacant.
