What "promise" pun do we think the club will go with when they announce this one then? "We Promise you will like this next signing" "We Promise this one was worth the wait" Feel free to add your own! Broken promise …..after he gets injured in his first game .

Hope he gets off to a flying start or we’ll have to change his name to Promise Omoregoals

Assuming Promise Omochere is done, who would you prefer we get in next:
- Will Evans (another £500k) - Josh Coburn (another loan) - other (realistically)
Personally, I'm on the Josh train. Think it will balance us nicely in terms of our attacking options.

The guy spent half the game on the floor

I can’t see either to be honest. Coburn will probably go to a ‘big’ league 1 club with ambitions of fighting for promotion and Will Evan’s has recently signed a new contract and is all over the Newport press talking about how much he’s looking forward to the new season….

If we have paid in the region of £300k - 500k for Promise, I think that we've re-invested the proceeds of Evo / Azza / Luca into the club and that we'll be looking at loans from now on, of which Josh would be a great one

He didn't sign a new contract, they triggered a one year extension. So he's now into his last year. If they get a decent offer, he will be gone. Clubs always make out a player is happy and staying. If that's the case, why hasn't he extended his contract?

I don't really know enough about him tbh. Generally though I don't like signing players from relegated clubs, not many of them have come in and pushed us onwards/upwards, usually the opposite. £500k seems a hell of a lot of money for a striker who scored 6 goals in L1 too. Considering Evans went for £450k, I cant help but feel we've not been overly clever here. Still, I guess we'll find out on the pitch soon enough. Yes, about where I am. Don’t know much about him but I’ll have to trust those that do. Whatever the fee, the reputation or goals scored before it’s all about what he will do in the quarters. Good luck Promise, try your best, give a 100% every time you play and the fans will love you. Be on 7/8 goals by the end of October will also help. 👍 UTG!

If that's the case, why hasn't he extended his contract? Yes, according to the BBC website quoted on here he’s contracted until summer ‘25. Newport can play hardball with the price this window perhaps but if he stays then I bet it changes in January. They will not be able to afford not to sell. Wouldn’t surprise me if it changes towards the end of August if Newport don’t start well. Time will tell as ever. UTG!

With the quality of the new signings I’ve seen so far ie Hutchinson, Senior,Bilongo, etc I’am confident George Friend & co have seen enough in the Fleetwood striker for the club to pay the mentioned fee. Strikers are the most prized commodities & no club are going to sell their’s for peanuts.

If Promise is confirmed what position will he play? If he’s not an out and out Number 9 are we looking to mould him in to one or is he going to play as a wide striker in a three pronged attack?

Should have the physical attributes to be a centre forward and Martin can hopefully mentor him in making that transition
