Why would offers around £600k be acceptable, if AE wants/is to be sold. End of last summers window we were (reportedly) prepared to pay £800k for a 29 year old JCH who also had a year left of his contract as AE does. Difference being AE potentially has his best years ahead whereas JCH was considered past his best by many.
Minimum £1m plus add-ons for me, we must not roll over as we hold the power in any negotiation. Worst case we get another year of AE in the squad or sell in January in an inflated market.

I could see a big club in league 1 coming in for him to help them get promotion but I don’t think he’s championship quality. Hopefully he’ll stay and get promoted with us.

Definitely get a sell on clause if he gets a big offer from a championship or a big league 1 team which with his potential probably will happen

Without Evans "he's Joey Bartons man ..." I will be pleasantly surprised if MMT team make any dent at all on the play-offs, I hope to be proved wrong, cannot wait to watch the story unfold at Melksham Town Last 11 seasons in League One: Bottom Half: 10 times Top half: 1 time (10th) The league this year is tougher than it has been in a long, long time. Let's just try and get into the top half before we even entertain the possibility of playoffs. Isn't this the only time in the year when we can all dream, and have wildly unrealistic expectations of the season ahead?

Offer of believed to be just 450k accepted. Feels very low. Didn’t expect the million others hoped for.. but thought we’d be looking at the 700 mark really. I guess being in the final year of the contract was the key issue.
Still, it’s 450k for a guy we signed on a free. It’s all about reinvesting it wisely, something we failed to do every time in the past. But we are getting a little better!

I hope us accepting this offer means that we have a replacement lined up.
Too often in the past have we sold our best player and been frantically searching around for a replacement in the rest of the window.

As it sounds like he is not signing a contract to stay and with multiple (bigger) clubs interested; I think it is just a matter of time until an offer that comes in meeting our valuation... I can't see him still being at the club by transfer deadline day.I did think I could finish writing my post before he left though

Nothing we can do if Evans wants a move sadly. I think £450k is abit low to be honest.

£450k is absolute tripe … bet they are paying it in ridiculous instalments like Bolton too. Hopefully there is at least a promotion / play off clause and sell on.
Birmingham I thought had offered 500k - clearly not.
Not sure who does the negotiating of players outwards but seriously they are crap at it.

Whether he’s good enough to fill he’s shoes is another thing

Far too low, surely not correct? Hopefully Brum now come in and blow them out of the water.
If its 450k up front plus another £300k or so on appearances and promotion, then maybe

Still £450'000 profit
AC £750'000 AE £450'000
1.2 MILLION
less moneys paid for current new players should still be a nice little profit tucked away somewhere. I have no idea what some of our recent signings cost in respect
