Lovely Chap who has been Badly advised by a poor agent … Was invited to our pre season where you never know he might just have had a chance to shine.
Instead he is training on his own in sh**ty Newport and is in the pool of hundreds looking for a club.
Non League beckons potentially which would be a real shame.

It is slightly concerning that of the contracts offered, a couple of players would essentially rather be unemployed than play for us? I think Hoole is a talented lad, who will improve massively, undoubtedly has his best years ahead of him. A few comments from Taylor about Hoole after games last season suggests maybe swayed Luca decision?

One of the few youngsters to be given a chance somewhat surprisingly IMHO agree that being shifted around the back 3 or 4 has not helped him develop, sounds like he has been badly advised , not bemoaning him going but wish him well

I think the newport fan summed it up well. Holding out for a better offer from a league one club. They are using Newport as a kick start for the bidding process. He's under 24 and been offered a contract. I would be amazed if Newport could match wages and offer a substantial fee. www.weareexiles.net/t68-luca-hoole

Feel for Luca- its his career and he's currently without a club.
Was never a CB- and we didnt need one. Oddly we needed a RB whilst this transition was being pushed.
Hopefully he finds himself a club soon.

Would guess a tribunal could easily set compensation at around £75k to £100k as he's been developed by us since he was 12 and that's going to put off a lot of League 2 clubs. Could easily end up without a club unless we let it be known he can go for free. It's a messy situation for the club and the player with neither benefiting. My guess is the agent assumed the club would let him go without seeking compensation. My guess is that this could easily drag on until deadline day with the club accepting a nominal fee for release of his registration.

Why's it messy for the club when it's just down to Hoole's agent to find him a club, all we have to do is see what offer we eventually get and then decide whether to accept it or take it to a tribunal.
Hoole's probably turned down a decent L1 contract, so we hardly need to feel sorry for him.

TBF a half decent winger against Hoole and we have Really struggled down his wing in the past

Happy to be corrected but I understood for a club to seek a transfer they had to offer a player at least a similar contract as the player was presently being paid, unless he had a totally useless agent you'd have to assume he was earning a reasonable L1 salary this season.

Perhaps we are still negotiating with Newport for Will Evans and will in exchange waive the fee requirement for Luca?

Can’t really blame Luca, he must have thought the writing was on the wall with the all defenders signed recently. As MT himself said he has already been replaced so what is there to stay for. Shame he never got the chance to shine for us as I think if played properly he will be a decent defender somewhere else.

Has he told the club he is not signing, Taylor used the words "due to time lapse" if he has not informed the club I think he is bang out of order, better off without.

Employees at the club were aware he was planning to leave Planning and doing so seems two different issues, if he can't find a club to match or beat our supposedly derisory offer and also meet whatever transfer fee we'll be entitled too then he may well have to accept our contract offer, I assume as a club we're stuck as if we now withdraw the contract offer he'll probably claim we're not entitled to a fee, as we withdrew the offer of a contract.
