He’s probably leaving it just hasn’t been announced or he is currently negotiating to leave

99% gone as reported by Bristol Live. He's refusing to sign and club are seeking a fee as a 22 tear old. Taylor has already replaced him in defence. Thanks to Luca for his services

Not sure what he’s hoping for, could end up anywhere I guess but likely to be L2. I’m a fan of his and would love him to stay

Good news. Not good enough sadly.
IMO was never expected to stay and only offered a new contract so we’d get compensation when he leaves (I think those are the rules).

Obviously only rumors but heard he was going "home" to Newport to be under Coughlan who gave him his debut and would be almost guaranteed a start each week - unlike here.
He already declined in principle Rovers offer and then when GC suddenly left he was left in limbo as Newport then wanted cheaper options.
On his day had great potential to be a championship full back. I don't think being messed around to play at CB helped and his career stagnated here.
Would be a good L2 full back, but how many of those clubs can risk a tribunal set compensation fee as no doubt we will ask for quite a bit, as plenty of experience for such a young age, a promotion winner and international experience.
Can see him going somewhere like the Scottish championship, or chancing it abroad, while he is young with no ties.
Another what might have been. Never lacked effort for us, so good luck to him.

Always wonder in cases like this, did the Agent mislead him?

Agree with this (bold). Good luck Luca.

Always thought an assassination attempt was likely at one of his rallies one day or another. He’s so divisive it was always going to happen one day . Wonder if he’ll carry on being so pro gun after this close shave ? Wrong thread ? Don't think Luca deserves to be shot.

So what's happens now if no club will pay the transfer fee Rovers want nor risk a tribunal setting a fee?
Surely he'd have been better staying at Rovers for a couple of years then leaving on a free?

Always wonder in cases like this, did the Agent mislead him? Yes, you do wonder if Hoole and his agent factored in that he wasn't really a free agent as such, as any club wishing to sign him would have to pay us a fee.

Imo Luca, at the moment, on his day is a very good league 2 player; BRFC should cut the fella free and let him pursue opportunities elsewhere. Best of luck to him.

Rovers aren't a charity, how much have they invested in him over the years? If Hoole wanted to leave on a free he should have stayed for 2 years and then done a Lockyer.

Luca has made his bed, it’s his decision what he does and not the clubs to forgo any monies due to them. Personally not a great loss as far as I am concerned and it would appear the clubs.

Personally not a great loss as far as I am concerned and it would appear the clubs. The club have offered him a contract and I think it needs to be on at least similar terms to what the player was previously on to for the transfer fee clause to kick in, so I'm not sure its really a case of not wanting him to stay, just Hoole thinking he can get a better deal elsewhere.

Always wonder in cases like this, did the Agent mislead him? Yes, quite possibly and then GC left Newport and Luca had to go to plan B. I will be very surprised if he ever plays for us again. If he was going to accept our offer he’d have done so by the start of pre-season training. Would we have put a time limit on the offer or do we have to keep it open to ensure any tribunal gives us a fair price? Missing that pre-season will put him at a disadvantage wherever he goes. A shame but turning us down when there are plenty of defenders around not the best move. Now we’ve replaced him, I expect, but don’t know, that he wouldn’t be that welcomed back now. Part of our promotion team so good luck to him but he may be wishing his agent had advised him differently. UTG!
