Employees at the club were aware he was planning to leave Planning and doing so seems two different issues, if he can't find a club to match or beat our supposedly derisory offer and also meet whatever transfer fee we'll be entitled too then he may well have to accept our contract offer, I assume as a club we're stuck as if we now withdraw the contract offer he'll probably claim we're not entitled to a fee, as we withdrew the offer of a contract. Really good point Topper. With Scott Sinclair and Jordan Rossiter, i'd have expected the offer of a contract to be time bound. Presumably at the moment, whilst the contract offer might be in place and neither accepted or declined by Luca, he will not be getting paid by anyone. The following clause from the rules of the FA Associations - the re-engagement offer must - C71.2 be the same or no less favourable than the terms which applied at the point of expiration of the Contract Player’s most recent Playing Contract with the Club. It could be that Luca's base salary is relatively low, with add-on's e.g. Match appearances not guaranteed and thus low-risk for the club to offer, but still mean compensation is payable if he signs for another club.

Would be a good move for him. Good luck to him if it comes off and we get some cash. Alternatively, sign a 1 year deal with our option for more and loan out to FGR to get much needed starts. By the time its up, Hunt will probably be done and he will have proved himself worth more, or not.

FGR is an old rumour from last season, there's no way Hoole would consider moving to a National League side on loan.

With Hoole on the verge of signing for Shrewsbury I make that 16 players have left the club including the 6 who were on loan last season

After all this time having Hoole in the team I still have no idea if he’s actually good?

After all this time having Hoole in the team I still have no idea if he’s actually good? As with many others, it would have been nice to see him in a better team. I think there is a good player there, I'm happy if he stays, but not too concerned if he leaves.

After all this time having Hoole in the team I still have no idea if he’s actually good? feel the same, did quite well in the league below but nothing at all stands out in league 1, I won't be sorry to see him go tbh, I'm 50/50, if he stays ok and if he goes great, GL

Shrewsbury is a good move for him, thought he'd end up at Newport. Didn't excel at right back or a centre back, needs to decide on a position and work hard to master it. Hopefully we'll get some compensation

If Hunt wasn’t under contract I’d have been happy to see Hoole stay. Little point him staying if he’s going to be third choice right back. Good luck to him - he needs to get his career up and running.

Good luck Luca, feel you were a better player than a lot of fans credited you for but post promotion progress was mis-managed (especially CB experiment in a terrible back line!). Opportunity missed for the gas.

Will have a very busy season at Shrewsbury - So will either shine or get found out.
Hoping Shrewsbury will be bottom four come next May - Not convinced its a great move for him.

Two year contract is good for Luca. Compensation agreed between the two clubs is good for us.

Good luck Luca. I was a fan, I wish you all the best and you can get to full international level with Wales.
Shame it didn't work out.
