There was a new owners thread that was in the main hopeful at best and quite negative generally.
A few more months on, what are peoples feelings now?
Positives for me: - They appear to have a plan and are sticking to it - They are still backing the manager financially it seems - They identified the need and have put in place a recruitment and backroom team, independent of the manager - The plans for the Mem (and the Quarters) seem to be realistic and boringly procedurally correct to give us the best chance of actually completing the plans.
Negatives for me: - Still a little too uncommunicative, understand they are playing things closer to their chests which feels right, but supporters need to feel a bit more love - Still making commercial misteps (or not explaining well why they have done things). ST cards, Portugal trip, fun day, ST kids prices etc - Lack of excitement leading to lack of ST sales - hopefully a good squad and good start get this back soon

Still too early for me but definitely going in the right direction.
Good recruitment in terms of forwards will be telling and eventual plans iro the Mem and Quarters will be their legacy.
Ask me again in a year, I'm quietly optimistic but always expecting bumps along the way.

Still too early to say IMO. I want to wait until we see the plans for the training ground and stadium and see if they actually happen. Plus wait and see how much we spend on a striker.
Some good signs, but a lot of negative things as well, as you mentioned.
Things do take time, so I will try and not judge too early.

I think last season was written off due to the failure to buy attacking options. This season we seem to have covered off most positions with the forward positions needing reinforcements. Will reserve judgement until we find out if they’re going to do that again. Ruined last season for me. Started out full of hope but I probably lost interest by Christmas. Hopefully the redevelopment plans aren’t rubbish, time will tell. I’m sitting on the fence for now.

As with the above posts , it all depends on what strikers we bring in . Worried we’re going to try and do it on the cheap again ….. then suffer.

I think they’re doing alright. If I was in their shoes though I’d be looking at getting a new CEO in to manage the day to day.

Doesn't the VP already do most of that and haven't we also advertised for Chief Operating Officer, unlike a manager or player I doubt it's that easy to replace a CEO, unless he does something serious enough to warrant dismissal or he decides to leave of his own accord.

The big one is surely how much they spend, transfer fees wise, on the marquee signings still to be signed, so far they've banked well over £1m from Collins, Evans & Hoole's departures but have hardly paid out any transfer fees.
So far this summer has been promising they just need to finish it off in style now.

Still think if it was for football reasons then they sacked Barton too soon, having said that for non football reasons I am glad they did…

Still too early to tell, but I am optimistic we are heading in the right direction.
I wonder if season ticket sales are down across the country due to the fact half of home games will be on Sky (legally)!
Exciting signings are not required, the correct signings are needed! No-one was excited when Evans, JCH were signed and they were OK Even the Anderson loan signing was met with little fanfare or optimism.
Let MT/GF do the biz, they are quietly changing the dressing room and hopefully we’ll have a squad all pulling together.
Can’t wait for the 10th & Northampton

Depends on the exact nature of the contract, but in theory the board of directors could pass a vote of no confidence in the CEO and remove/replace them. You could also do it by performance management over a period of time if the CEO is not able to perform the role in the way they should be doing it... How much it costs to remove them quickly depends on the contract details. How long it takes to manage them out depends on a lot of other factors. So it's easy, but not necessarily cheap and easy

Can’t wait for the 10th & Northampton I think our results and awful performances from Dec through to the end of the season are by far the biggest reason for ST sales dropping. I suspect most will have made that decision well before the Sky deal was announced. MT needs a fast start to this season or things could turn bad for him quite quickly - I hope for his sake we get a good number 9 in before we kick off.

Agreed , that last 4 months or so was probably some of the worst ( results wise ) and boring football I’ve witnessed at the Gas . Was an effort to drag myself up there .

Both with a long run of games without scoring.

Not from where I was stood. The second half of last season was the most dire in terms of both results, performance and entertainment in many years My memory says that both years were as dire as each other. Both with a long run of games without scoring. Empty seats and spaces on the terraces suggest otherwise. Have you forgotten our record breaking run of not scoring? I haven’t and I didn’t find it entertaining.
