Like the look of Hutchinson. We've worked hard, been direct at times and forced them into errors for a couple of chances. However, they've played through us a couple of times and our keeper has made a couple of outstanding saves. Like I've said better sides will play through us and they are a championship side after all. To sum up, plenty of huff and puff and effort, not much quality on display. Our midfield is set up to close down, tackle, missing someone (Finley, Coutts mould) to put thier foot on the ball. From what I’ve seen of him I think Lindsay can handle the Coutts/Mansell role. Never seen Garrett play but maybe the management noticed the same lacking qualities as you and Garrett is the new Finley? |

Need a striker and winger asap .. Pretty sure MT knows that though. Spot on. Thought Richard’s was going to be the winger, not even involved today. Having said that Cardiff are a decent side and I would suggest Northampton won’t pose the same threat. |

It Cardiff 25 minutes to get to grips with our press, once they did we were just chasing shadows. They took the pee a little, may as well of been 5 leagues between the two sides. Massive gulf in quality. For what it's worth Wilson was by far our best defender, just very dissapointing that despite playing with two blocking midfielders we still stood off and gave them room to shoot. Lots of effort from us, some promising players, but not good enough today. Think we look alot weaker this pre season than we did last. Just hoping it all comes together first game. UTG

UTG A championship side should be 2 goals better than our lads , their wage bill is probably 3 times ours if not more. Nothing to get too worried about. |

We could just as easily be claiming Wards dithering and eventual poor choice of option caused their third if someone hadn’t managed to block the attempt. Would mention the saviour by name but don’t want to fly in the face of forum scapegoat opinions. |

UTG Didn't think it was as bad as that, but we were lacking up front, despite creating some decent openings. |

Don't worry, I'll be there behind them, I'm not a moaner believe it or not, never ever anything but encouragement for the players when I'm there. But I'm saying it as I see it, those Cardiff players were laughing and joking playing around us. Just hope we are up to standard next week. UTG |
