We signed Rickie Lambert from Rochdale in League Two for £200k after he had notched 22 league goals the previous season. And then didn't score 20+ for us until his 3rd season Turned out alright tho, didn't he? Promoted in his first season and an EFL Trophy Final (10 goals in all comps.. including the only goal over 2 legs against City in the JPT Area Final) FA Cup quarter final in his second season (19 goals in all comps) 29 league goals in his third season Finally sold for over £1m I'd say it paid off, no?

Shame, I was hoping we had shirt no 3 held back for him! Perhaps percy but whereas in the past I thought we always looked a bit stretched at full back this year I think we look strong there with options. Other priorities? UTG!

I’ve have it on absolutely no authority whatsoever that we are holding out hoping to get Dom Ballard from Southampton on loan for the season after injury cut short his time at Reading last season

Think he would fit in with the shape too. Float it around gaschat enough it may make the bristol post rumour mill never know

Not seen anything to suggest Reading have resolved their ownership/financial issues and haven't even signed one player so far this summer, I doubt Soton will want to send a player to a club who could well be fighting relegation all season unless a new owner is in place PDQ. It also seems players rarely return to the same club for a second loan spell.

Will have to just wait and see what develops between now and the end of window, but is certainly a good prospect and would be a good signing IMHO.

Pirate, do you think we will still be having the same conversation in a years time? It seems to have been going on for nearly two years.Or is it just that there is a lack of strikers out there now to sign? Looking at my sons level, you see one per team, thus reducing the amount in the market further on up?

If we are in for Josh Coburn we may get him if events South of the River play into our hands. I refer to the current saga involving their Tommy Conway. Middlesborough have made a bid. He wants to go there. Hull have made a bigger bid. He doesnt want to go there. If Middlesborough get him they are likely to let Coburn go out on loan. What an irony !

Dom Ballard, Ashley Fletcher, Kyle Joseph and Jordan Rhodes are decent forward options for our level.

In-demand St Johnstone striker Adama Sidibeh has a £500,000 release clause in his contract alerting a number of clubs in England and Scotland. #sjfc
