Could well be our toughest away game of the season. Get a result on sat and a few will start to think we could have a successful season. Looking forward to this one ! Toughest away game of the season… questionable. Huddersfield away Birmingham away Bolton away Could …

if you told me stockport were in the football league i wouldnt have believed you let alone in league one You'll be surprised to learn then that they averaged more fans than us last season and had a better opening day attendance than we did too. Been a well run football club since Mark Stott bought the club and installed Simon Wilson as Director of Football. trainingground.guru/articles/simon-wilson-stockport-countys-seven-year-plan

all I remember of Stockport is Kevin Francis warming up next to where I was stood at Twerton dripped in goal chains.
Monster of a man.

My main memory of Stockport is our win at Hartlepool that got us into the playoffs, Lambert's late goal meant Stockport missed out despite winning 5-0 just down the road at Darlo

MASSIVE test for us ...
A game where our Midfield simply have to show up and perform for 95 minutes plus or we will be swamped and it could get messy. Grant Ward has been underwhelming for me so far - Sinclair also. Louie Barry has to be kept in check and if he is given room will smash rockets from 30 yards out. Fresh legs to maintain a tight press so bench selection also a big call.
Not sure how much of a goal threat we truly have still ....Chris Martin does not look fit , Ruel Sotiriou starting to look a potentially good signing but not fit yet. Cant leave everything to Promise.
I think a point would be a superb result.

Would also consider 4 at the back with an extra body in the middle

Agree with a lot of this although I’d be tempted to play two up front on sat , attack being the best form of defence theory. Go there trying to contain them could prove fatal as they’ll probably overrun us, I’d rather we gave them something to think about.

Didn't Jim Gannon accuse us of watering the pitch to get it cancelled because of our injury list . Then we nipped them by a single point to get in play offs after an unbelievable run. Something happened that season and Jim Gannon still goes on about it ?. Maybe I dream it !.

If Taylor does want to stick to the 3 at the back he could switch to a 352 which would allow us to have a extra body in the middle then potentially have promise up top with Ruel or sincs. Would like to see Promise and Martin up top for a bit Saturday to.

I think we should try a 4-2-3-1 it can give promise support from hutch and LT and bilongo can run down the left wing Lindsay and conteh can play a CDM role and then senior can play LB mola can play RB and MT can rotate the back 4

Lots of conspiracies surrounding that postponement iirc. I don’t think Gannon ever forgave us and was moaning years after. UTG! ps sorry oldmarket, just seen your post about the pitch. You beat me to it.

That’s exactly what we have been doing anyway 🤷♂️ We’ve had Promise up front with Sinclair and Saturday it was with Ruel and then McCormick. The front two split and let the AM to press centrally. It’s been 352 all pre season Personally I think we’re way better suited in attacking areas at moment to play 4231 and the only way I see of getting Hutchinson and Thomas in the side without Thomas playing at a wing back.

Remember The Windsor Castle, lads? [br Are you referring to the pub by the bridge in Bath (not far from Twerton)? I got as far as that a few times but never went to a game. I live in Bath and gave my money to the Share Scheme instead to help get us back to Bristol. Sadly it is now a block of flats. UTG!
