County fan in peace.
Firstly, thank you for the compliments on here. I'm not sure I'd go as far as calling us one of the toughest aways but it makes a nice change from just being branded a newly promoted side and fans fuming that they aren't beating the "likes of Stockport". Though if your team could underestimate us and lose that would be appreciated...
No ground works at the moment. Later on in the season we're adding some temporary seats as next year (timing TBC I think) we will be starting some renovation work on the open air Railway End. Currently we give away sides 2 blocks of the Pop Side / Together Stand as we have to give covered seating. We're a home sellout for this other than about half of the Railway End which is a tough sell it's pretty sh**. Last season we always used it ourselves to get in some extra County fans. This season I expect we'll give it and 1 block of the Pop to the bigger followings like Bolton or Birmingham. Good to hear you're near a sellout too. (I doubt we can give more this late and segregation would be an issue.)
Sounds like you like to play it and set up a similar way to us so it should be a good game and test of where we really are. Still looking for a forward? Hopefully your GK doesn't have a repeat of Rotherham!
We're in good shape on and off the pitch, other than injuries. We were down to 13 outfield, senior players with 12 out for Cambridge (and 2 keepers and a 17 y.o. on the bench for Blackpool). I think we'll be able to name just about a full senior bench for your game, or maybe 1 short with 8 or 9 out and few in the squad short of minutes. We've coped we'll so far though.
Don't worry about Barry. He's rubbish. Please pass that on to your management team.
Happy with your squad and performances so far? Or a bit of rearguard action? Who are the players to look out for?

I notice Clint Hill and also Andy Mangan are on the coaching staff at County, but at least they aren't going to be giving any inside information on us, what difference and turnaround, this past year, only seems like a few months ago they were on our books.

Should be a tough test, take a point, wont be too disappointed or surprised with a marginal defeat, ecstatic with a win.

We’re gonna go up there and smash ‘em.
Hope MT installs the belief that we can match anyone, get our midfield balance right and play our game, ball on the deck and plenty of movement.
Oh my cherry to get off the mark. He’s gonna bundle one in off his left toenail in the last minute.

Good to see you back in the league. I guess Scunthorpe are the new Stockport, stuck in National League North. I think the combination of a good squad and the feel good factor / momentum you get from 3 promotions in such a short space of time, will help you challenge for a top 6 finish this season. As you probably saw from the highlights, we were a little fortunate to get a draw at Rotherham. I think we'll have to play better to take anything back from Edgeley Park. We haven't had many injuries so far, but two of our strikers missed pretty much all of pre season and are still some way off full match fitness / sharpness. Plus we've signed 14 new players, and although there are promising signs, we're not quite clicking yet; particularly going forward. Would be more than happy with a point considering how well you've started.

Would be more than happy with a point considering how well you've started. Cheers, good to be back! A top 6 challenge is certainly the aspiration for some. A lot depends on whether we can get and keep players fit. We've had issues with injuries for over a year now and at one point in preseason had 7 out for knee injuries. The club have investigated though and hopefully we're turning a corner. For me, top half in the baseline as we're also transitioning to a younger squad that we can develop now we're not one of the league's big spenders. What do you reckon as a finish for Rovers? Didn't Rotherham go quite direct? We can do that through Wootton but prefer to play out. Sounds similar to us with 12 new signings so far. Barry is still not match sharp (a scary thought) and our top scorer in the league last season, Olaofe, managed his minutes after a preseason injury vs Blackpool.

As for Sat well we are looking solid at the back but are still missing that creative spark, think it may go 1-0 either way, good luck for rest of season ,after Sat!

Regardless come full time this forum will be brilliant.
Win 1 nil and it'll be the gas are going up. Unbeaten, hard to beat. 2 tough away fixtures.
Lose 1 nil and fans will be screaming for a striker. Three games no goals from open play. Return my season ticket.
Think I'd like a 1-1, Omochere.

Yeah, it's interesting to get another perspective and thanks for the replies. Though no segregation reminds me of the dark away days in the NLN. I remember being astounded you could go anywhere at Oxford City and the HT migration of fans to the goal they're attacking. Yeah, it is tricky. Still plenty of (Manchester) City shirts in Stockport but the County numbers are growing. What's the divide between Rovers and City like? Should be a good game. We've got a few threats but there's not much you can do if the opposition keeper has a blinder. Hopefully he's got that out of his system. Good luck for the rest of the season too, after Saturday AND the reverse fixture!

I’m going for a Stockport win for this one. I think we were lucky to get a draw against Rotherham. In my opinion we have a very good side but until we can sort out the scoring side of things then without goals we cannot win games. I think in the next 2-3 Games we should be up and running and finding the net more, especially now Martin is back.
3-1 Stockport win for me.

Remember The Windsor Castle, lads? [br Are you referring to the pub by the bridge in Bath (not far from Twerton)? I got as far as that a few times but never went to a game. I live in Bath and gave my money to the Share Scheme instead to help get us back to Bristol. Sadly it is now a block of flats. UTG! Nice, but er....no.

Good luck for the rest of the season too, after Saturday AND the reverse fixture! Well the divide is not quite as bad as Celtic/Rangers but the cultural divide is huge ! Logically if a young fan or newcomer to Bristol looked at the two clubs they would tag on to the other lot, BUT just as in your part of the country where the easiest option would be to jump on the band wagon of the huge clubs around the area many fans choose to support Stockport, Bury, Oldham, Rochdale and the like, it is hard to explain but I am sure as a County fan you will understand why many Bristolians choose to follow Rovers!!
