That's both a strange and massive signing for L1 as surely he's still good enough for Championship football, when he played 27 games in the Premiership last season, although a 3 year contract for a 33 year seems a long one, hopefully he doesn't start tomorrow. He might make the bench as Stockport I understand can barely name a full bench. Whether he features is another matter. He has done well to earn a 3 year deal close to home at his age I think he'll feature. Only played the 1 preseason game with us as a trialist to make up numbers but he's since trained with us for 3 weeks to keep up his fitness. Not sure he'll start though as won't be match sharp and our centre midfield pairing has started very well. Yeah, we'll probably have 2 keepers and/or an academy players on the bench. |

Have they got wealthy backers? Wrexham and them seem pumped up Vanarama teams on the up and up 👌 Money talks. Norwood will be on more than any of our top earners. Pay the money in the lower leagues, get promoted. That's football now unfortunately. Pretty much football at all levels. |

That's football now unfortunately. 3 year (very high wage I’d guess) contract is madness. Enjoy it now lads but would be worried if we did something like that for a 33 year old. Lot of fans were/are skeptical and I think everyone would have preferred 2 years but he had other offers so it's probably that security that took it over line. Reportedly very fit and obviously coming down 2 levels. A lot of has made of his other contributions too. We have a much younger squad after an overhaul in the summer and his experience and mentorship could be an important contribution. |

It would be good to know how many active fans we have on here. At 7am this morning only 82 fans have volunteered an opinion on this result. I get a lot watch and don’t comment. If we all did that there would be no forum. It would be great to see this number increase to show how representative this forum is.

I think in the prem and champ to a certain extent money doesn't automatically buy success. Chelsea , man united are good examples of that. Lower leagues however money inevitably buys you promotions. Stockport and Wrexham are testimony to that. |

Starts today but honestly think that's good news for you. Bate, our best player so far, is out with a knock taking us up to 11 out and 2 academy lads on the bench. Still looks a strong lineup though. Thoughts on yours? |

Still guarantees you top 8 and the reality is there's probably about 6 sides that expect to be in the top 4 each year and Chelsea and United are/have been a mess behind the scenes. |

intrigued by your post. Is it to do with Stockport fans? I was in a pub in Twerton when playing them and their fans caused a bit of a disturbance in the garden. Made a mistake really as they ended up running in to gardens to get away. Always remember it as thought why did they start? Not sure of the pubs name though🤷♂️ That incident (if it was last game of season, in Full Moon pub) was probably in retaliation for the hand bags in the reciprocal match where we flooded their main pub, The Windsor Castle.. |
