Does anyone know if there is pay on the day for away fans?

Always thought there was a Staurday 15:00 embargo. Are they allowed to show 15:00 games on International weekend then? Yes Wow! So the embargo isn't about protecting league one clubs then...

I can’t wait for this match.
We are beginning to build a squad that play for the shirt and give it their all. It’s the minimum we ask.
I love the realistic chat that is coming out of our leadership. Championship in three years and steady rebuilding. This strategy works for me from a communication point of view. Calming the fans to expect a steady season focused on rebuilding is the right message.
Inside the dressing room we have a whole bunch of winners who want to achieve in this game. These winners aren’t hanging around playing to be mid-table.
A few more victories and they will begin to believe that we can hang around in the play off group.
I’m happy with that.
Our defence unit and our organisation won’t ship too many goals this season. I’m hoping for a 2-0 victory.

Does anyone know if there is pay on the day for away fans? I’m sure there’s bound to be. Biggest away end in the league Barnsley so be sure to try and get as many as they can.

Wow! So the embargo isn't about protecting league one clubs then... I think the logic behind the 3pm blackout window is to stop casual fans watching a big club rather than league one/two and below. As the “big” clubs aren’t playing that risk is reduced. However you could argue the clubs are loosing some match day revenue as a result, but that might be counter balanced by the extra Sky money coming from the new deal.

I've been watching the gas since 1988 and I don't think I've ever seen us pick up so much as a point at barnsley so I'd take a draw.
Have we ever picked up anything there? Being too lazy to Google it.

One of the more depressing away days for me recently, lost 1-0 and Stephen Payne saluted the away fans with a v signed fingers wave.
Barnsley itself was quite the cultural wasteland
Only up side was the guy on the turnstile who let my boy in for free because he said it was otherwise a rip off.
Fair play to those travelling for this one, not exactly a friendly away series of games with Rotherham, Stockport, Barnsley……

Seems to be a tough few games coming up, but maybe not as bad as it appears - although would definitely take a point at Barnsley.
Wigan have had an awful start - fancy us at home. Peterborough also have a very young, very short team who we can hurt with our physicality.
Not saying we'll get results in all of these games but we have to fancy ourselves a bit.

1991 looks like the last time we even avoided defeat at Oakwell when we won 1-0, since then we've lost all 5 games whilst losing by roughly 2 clear goals on average. In recent times I can't think of a worse ground for continually losing by a fair margin.

I was there that day. Pi**ed down with rain if I remember and the away end didn't have a roof then. Got battered, remember Jamie shore playing well though. My memories since of Barnsley away are guaranteed defeat. If we picked up 3 points here I really would start to believe. Snap your hands off for a point though.

I didn’t have away tickets so sat with Home fans with my son, keeping my West Country accent low key. At 4-0 Barnsley fans sung “it’s like watching Brazil.” We can beat them this time.

My old man took me to a pub in Barnsley after the game and Leeds were on the telly. Vividly remember how much they hated Leeds. Not sure if that's their local hated rivals or not. Always found the rivalries up that part of the country weird could never work out who hates who the most.

Barnsley fans consider Sheffield Wednesday to be their biggest rivals, followed by Leeds United. There’s so many teams Up there though that not many really care about Barnsley in return.
