Barnsley fans don't seem to think they are as strong as last season.
This reply from oakwellian to a cobblers fan on bbc website after their 2-2 draw..
"As a Barnsley fan, can't agree that we are a strong team.
Four of last season's squad walked away from new contract offers, we lost good loan players back to their clubs and our recruitment so far has been poor.
We're nowhere near where we were last season. That's twice in five days we've thrown away a two goal lead.
Feels like we have a long stoney road ahead of us".
Dr Foxtrot said.. "Barnsley supporters know the team will struggle this season because decent players don't really want to come here".
Popeye said... "A blind man on a galloping horse can see what Barnsley's problem is... we need a couple of strikers" !

Their "Red all over podcast" a couple of days ago felt that they are much stronger now and described their most recent display as the "best in years" and they have got their 2 strikers - albeit only 1 of them is likely to start tomorrow. The comment was made that in previous years they have had loads of possession but most of it was in their own area wheras they could have scored 6 last week with a little more luck . . |

I have a feeling that belief is the key factor for tomorrow, if the team really do believe they can get a result and the vibes are right that could go along way to getting a minimum share of the spoils!

Fans will go there knowing we always lose at Barnsley, but the players probably wont.
I havent been there since the FA Cup defeat many moons ago, but will be there this time, for a better result hopefully!!

We were getting trounced there once and ended up watching a local game from high up in the away end.We cheered the blue team on.Journey back for me was Staffordshire so not as bad as for many of my fellow Gasheads . |
