Just been announced on National Rail that the station will open on 28th September. Home fixture that day. Will be interesting to see how many fans will use it? I’ll wait and see what the timetables are before deciding whether to give it a try.

Hmm. Just looked at the timetables for between Temple Meads and Ashley Down for 28th Sept. Many of the trains necessitate a changeover at Filton Abbey Wood. Wonder if the operating company will put on extra trains for when home games are scheduled? Might be worth raising this at the Fans Forum on Thursday? It also looks like there won't be any trains at all from Ashley Down after 10.00pm on a Tuesday, which rules this method out for me. Click on the attached image to view.

Used to go there in the early days at the Mem, before it became a Celtic pub. What's a Celtic pub? It is a bit like a Rovers pub in the sense that it’s a football pub except it isn’t a Rovers pub, it’s instead dedicated to a football club 400 miles away rather than the one 400 yards away.

Don't even know where the station is. Where is the entrance/exit? Just off Muller Rd where it crosses the rail line. About a 20 min walk to the ground either up Muller Rd or via Ashley Down Road/Gloucester Rd

Does not work from Parkway without a long wait on Filton Abbey Wood station. They really need to look at what trains stop at what stations before building any more. Plenty of local trains will go through Ashley Down, just looks like they won't actually stop there !!!!!
Lawrence Hill to Parkway frequently involves a train to temple meads a change and then back though Lawrence Hill - this actually got worse after they opened two more lines - how does that work ?
No trains after 10 pm is pathetic too - if they want people to use public transport they actually have to have some. Until then will stick to the car.

Well, I was looking forward to being able to catch the train from keynsham, but that service is pathetic. Whilst getting there looks ok, getting home means, either leaving early to get the 17:12 or waiting until 17:55 and hoping I can get on that, which will get to keynsham at 18:50. Very disappointing and simply not going to work for me. Let’s hope there are plans to improve alongside the stadium redevelopment, but until then it’s going to be the car for me.

I wouldnt have thought the 17:55 will be that long a wait. Games finish later nowadays, so it gives you time to have a swift half in the bar before a stroll down the road. An hour to Keynsham seems very excessive though.
