Scott Sinclair was one of Alex Neil's best signings. I thought Scott was fantastic against Charlton.

Agree, Scott has been tremendous in the last two matches; not sure why he hasn't featured as a starter from the beginning of the season, especially as he was so good towards then end of last season; for me currently Scott is the one player who is keeping MMT in a job.

Maybe that tracks with the 'playing football manager'? That's has been suggested on other threads.

Why would the VP agree to offer Sinclair a new contract, and you have to assume also not disagree with him being made captain, then tell MT that he can't start him?

All this higher up interference is a load of nonsense. No manager would stand for anyone having a say in the running of the match day squad. Alex Neil would be a strong no from me, doubt he's the kind of fella to take instructions from above either tbh

Firmly as I dont like sacking Managers and think they deserve a fair run after todays performance i see a Manager who I am afraid doesnt have a clue what he is doing. Very little effort at playing attacking football- the same tactics just with a few different faces. Four defeats on the trot todays against a Wycombe side who to be frank were very ordinary but we showed no signs of pressurising as a team and as such pretty well allowed Wycombe the freedom of the park. The routine 5 substitutions that again just didnt work. I said at the end of last season that the key change in the summer would be an experienced keeper who controls his area and most importantly his defenders and the six yard box. Griffiths makes good saves but has no control ol of his six yard box the same as Jed Ward. Taylor IMO has no ideal as regards setting up as an attacking side and we always look like the away side whether we are home or away.Until we start to play attacking formation I do not see any hope of getting three points. The team need inspiration and I just cant see that in Matt Taylor. Today for me was the last straw as yet again I saw us beaten by a very avarage Wycombe team who I couldnt accuse of being their normal cheating selves- they didnt need to.The owners must take their share of the blame- sacking Barton was their first act but they now have a Manager who couldnt inspire anybody. Dull as dishwater and that is exactly represented by the football we play. Thoughts this evening after 2 wins on the bounce?

I suppose it depends if you buy into the VP picking the team conspiracy theory or not (I don't really). However, if you did then playing the players brought in to sell at a profit (with the niave thought process thatvthey will miraculously play well and increase in value a la championship manager, tracks), rather than playing the players that the manager wants to play. Remember that Sinclair is club captain and has been made pitch captain in only the last couple of games. The contract offered to Sinclair was last season. Maybe the VP has changed his CM2025 approach from the beginning of the season? I'm not in the know and am very happy that we got three points today and I have bought into MT front foot football approach and I do think that this is a project that we should stick with (full disclosure, I don't think that BG should have been sacked).

Pretty sure Sinclair was made "captain" by the club, it's just become a Gaschat fact that he was made "club captain" and Wilson "team captain", if that was the case surely Wilson would stay as the captain regardless of whether Sinclair was on the pitch or not?
From memory Bilingo started off the season reasonably well so perhaps it made sense to keep him at LWB, particularly after he scored in the opening game. Plus we all know MT's task is to try and develop youngsters, not sure any knocked that idea in the summer, particularly those slagging off Hunt, Wilson & Ward as just wasters bought by JB.
Perhaps MT has now realised you need a balance to the team or the youngsters will never improve. Mola's potential transfer value has probably shot up this week!!

There has not been a marked improvement in the actual performances over a full 90 minutes but two wins are two wins and neither looked likely a week ago. I have never had any doubt about the quality of the players just recently whether the Manager could get a tune out of them. If the performances improve then yes I would say the Manager should staybut i would still like to see more pressurising from the front and an attacking approach. Only time will tell but results will dictate as to whether the Manager stays whatever i think!!
