I know a lot of players take time to settle in. Players in the past like Roberts, Lambert and the snake took a while to get going. So I'm not writing off any player so far. I just wondered, who have you been disappointed with so far, who you had high hopes for?
For me, it has to be Hutchinson. 15 goals and 12 assists last season and Walsall fans said how good he was. So far, he's not got going at all.
Forde has to be up there as well. Highly rated, but he doesn't even look for at the moment. Did he not take part in pre season at Watford? He's not been here long though, but I don't know why he's so unfit, unless he's been injured.
West Ham fans spoke high of Forbes as well, although I've not seen enough of him to make too many comments.
Hopefully players will come good. At the moment Taylor doesn't know his strongest side which doesn't help and the style doesn't help players like Hutchinson.

Are you f-ing serious?
Shaq Forde has played 67 minutes spread across 4 games from the bench!!!
Forbes has played once and racked up 13 mins 🤣🤣🤣
Are you for real?
Hutchinson is an absolute veteran in this side by comparison because he’s played NEARLY 3 games!!! He hasnt played more than 60 mins in a game yet!
Just as a bit of an eye opener…..We’re averaging 40% possession and the balls in play for about 55 mins a game so we’ve actually been in possession for 22 minutes a game!!!
What exactly are you judging this on ffs 🤦♂️🤯

Biggest disappointment is the clueless 'manager'.

Biggest disappointment is the clueless 'manager'. Along with some dumb-ass fans who have been stupid enough to cast judgement on some players based on how the manager has treated them and let his judgement cloud their own opinions.

Should Forde not be fit, he's a professional? This is a forum, for discussions. If we can't have them, what's the point of it🤣. I'm not writing off anyone. I'm asking for people's opinions at this stage. It's okay to write off a manager after 6 games, but wrong to discuss a few players 🤣

No one’s written the manager off after 6 games. Last count I made it was around 35?
Is Shaq not fit? You know this or you’ve deduced it from 67 minutes spread over 4 sub appearance?
You’ve added that you’re disappointed in Forbes based on West Ham fan opinion and you’ve seen him for 13 minutes!!
Overall, Hutchinson is currently 3rd in the goal involvements per minute played…🤣
It’s a nonsense conversation to have. The players that were already here and have played 600+ mins have been more disappointing than some of the new signings I’ve barely seen yet!

Is this thread really fair on youngsters, as I doubt it'll do their confidence any good if they are identified as one of our worst signings too date?
The next thing is Dan Hargreaves will be running a similar article on Bristol Live.

You've said a lot worse about players and have wrote off some already. Comments like they should be in the national League at the moment, living off a nice smile etc. So at least be consistent. I'm obviously not commenting on Forbes performances. I thought he would have broke into the team by now and helped us defend corners. It could be the managers fault, but I'm disappointed he hasn't featured. Taylor said Forde isn't fit. I said Taylor and the style of play could be what's to blame for Hutchinson. I expected more from him. I'm not blaming the players. I'm saying who I expected to have a bigger impact so far.

Fair enough re BB living off a nice smile, in my defence, it was driven by immediate post game emotion, it wasn’t a general comment re his ability or potential.
I’m not sure I’ve called anyone National league level other than suggesting Kofi went on loan and I stand by that 100%. He’s nowhere near ready for football league football. imo.
As for any others Promise is the only player to have had a fair crack to have formed a fair opinion and even that’s early days!
The most disappointing aspect is the fact that we’ve recruited players and clearly have no idea how to use them or what they’re best at!!

Way too early for all players to be judged.
If you were to call it out then yeah Hutchinson is probably yeah the biggest disappointment but he hasn’t been anywhere near as bad as people have said and hasn’t had much time at all to show his worth.
Comparisons with Westbrooke are massively unfair.
Let’s give our players a chance.
What’s with our fan base right now? Knives out at the the ready within weeks.

Some of the most disappointing players this season were already at the club. Thomas, Taylor, McCormick etc.
I can’t say any of the new signings have come in particularly badly. The likes of Hutchinson, Lindsay, Sotirou need to more time and minutes on the pitch for me to make a definitive assessment on.
Overly cautious tactics, constant chopping and changing and the lack of a chance creating midfielder are what’s holding us back so far.

Imo it is unfair to critise the players; Personally would say George has brought in too many youngsters, who appear atm to be of a similar ability, with no real quality shining through yet. Letting Antony go was a massive mistake. Should have signed a couple more experienced players (an attacker and creative midfielder). For me Kofi is definitely the diamond in the rough although unfortunately we probably wont be seeing him very often.

They have looked at him. I expect any young players in L1 or L2 that are featuring in first team will be looked at by other clubs. Was it Kelly tipped for a move to WHU a few years back.

Nothing wrong with the question as all players and managers are judged all the time . This is professional football. Poor start by most players this season old & new , in fact can’t think of one player who has really shone so far . Manager has been poor , board poor . Sh1t show all round.

Kofi is wanted by both Leeds United and Aston Villa, so necessarily will be offski in either January or at the end of the season so no need to worry about where his future lies. As I’ve said before I think that’ll explain why Kofi has featured how he has. As a Cat 3 Academy until Kofi signed a pro contract he’d have been swiped away for next to nothing in terms of the regulated compensation amounts that are set. Once he fell out of the stipulated compensation brackets and signed as a pro it was always in the clubs best interests to raise his profile and our league 1 minutes into his valuation. He’ll go to one of the Cat 1 clubs and spend the next three years playing age group football and BSM games possibly going back out on loan on two years to a league 1 club. What he will get is a far better technical football education with the best facilities, the best sports science, analysis teams and coaching.
