Imo it is unfair to critise the players; Personally would say George has brought in too many youngsters, who appear atm to be of a similar ability, with no real quality shining through yet. Letting Antony go was a massive mistake. Should have signed a couple more experienced players (an attacker and creative midfielder). For me Kofi is definitely the diamond in the rough although unfortunately we probably wont be seeing him very often. Agree with you totally, except I don't think AE was let go - he wanted out and there wasn't much they could do about it except get a decent price. I think he had a dose of MT as manager and saw the light.

Biggest disappointment is the clueless 'manager'. Absolutely the biggest disappointment by far. The young (mainly) players we have try their best and we can't ask for more. Were the manager to actually coach them into a system they're comfortable with, keep some consistency, stop making daft substitutions and admit his own inadequacy, we might get somewhere. Don't hold your breath. 🏴☠️

Walsall fan here. I'm not surprised Hutchinson isn't featuring much, and disappointing some of you.
He's capable of lashing one in from 25 yards, but he's just as likely to waste a good chance of a tap in by passing to a team mate, when he'd rather try to take a defender on and lose the ball. His decision making needs work.
Technically very good, but I'm not convinced he has the mentality to make the most of his potential. He sulked for most of the second half of last season, when he didn't get his move in January.
It's no surprise that now we're not reliant on the odd bit of selfish brilliance from him or other similar wannabes, we're functioning far better as a team without him.

I'm not convinced any of our new signings are bad tbh!
They are just being managed but a useless twit currently.

Most disappointing thread this season? You have to love this place. I've been called a happy clappy many times, for giving people time. I've just asked people's opinions and said who has disappointed me so far. I've not really slated any player, the disappointment was mainly due to my high expectations of the players. Now I'm being slated for what I've said and being slagged off for trying to find out people's thoughts on the new signings. Might as well delete my account, what ever I say isn't right, so what's the point?

Are you f-ing serious? Shaq Forde has played 67 minutes spread across 4 games from the bench!!! Forbes has played once and racked up 13 mins 🤣🤣🤣 Are you for real? Hutchinson is an absolute veteran in this side by comparison because he’s played NEARLY 3 games!!! He hasnt played more than 60 mins in a game yet! Just as a bit of an eye opener…..We’re averaging 40% possession and the balls in play for about 55 mins a game so we’ve actually been in possession for 22 minutes a game!!! What exactly are you judging this on ffs 🤦♂️🤯 Calm down.

I always read your posts. You frequently give a welcome balance to the doom and gloom posts by others. The concern with your thread was the way it would inevitably be twisted. Players, their family and friends do follow the forum more than most fans believe. Most of the squad have been with us for only a short time and are still finding their feet. Forums have a tendency to dwell on the negative and players who deserve some respect and time can end up crucified. It is too early to make a fair and honest appraisal of the new signings. The point. There is a point. A rephrased thread question was all that is needed.

The Manager hasnt a clue. Plays the same way whatever formation is uded-defensively. The only players given a fair chance have been the back three and they have been the cause of most of the goals with poor individual mistakes, poor in the air and abysmal passing out.Mola has been the only player to come out of it with much deserved praise.

I thought by starting off saying I know it takes time to settle in, people would have known I wasn't trying to say they are not good enough etc. I understand that a lot of players have moved away from friends and family. That their lives have changed and not just their footballing life. My disappointment, was more to do with my high expectations regarding those players. They have not yet met my expectations, so I'm disappointed at this stage. Forde and Hutchinson both looked fantastic in their clips and were highly rated by fans of their former clubs. They have not done that here yet. I'm by no means saying they are not good enough, or that they shouldn't play for us etc. I want to see more of them.

Kofi is wanted by both Leeds United and Aston Villa, so necessarily will be offski in either January or at the end of the season so no need to worry about where his future lies. Wanted? They have looked at him. I expect any young players in L1 or L2 that are featuring in first team will be looked at by other clubs. Was it Kelly tipped for a move to WHU a few years back. Agree with PH, Shaw is wanted and will be off.

Didn't we have similar with Hunter and he never went anywhere, you have to sense that if clubs spot young talent now they sign them well before they get anywhere near to playing in the 1st team. It's not like we picked up Shaw recently from non league and he's only now catching the eye of scouts, he's been paying Academy football for years. I'm surprised that having made his first league start at Posh he didn't even get on the pitch on Saturday!

I posted before the season started, to completely change the team is a massive gamble, especially when expecting young inexperienced players to hit the ground running. Think it's unfair to judge any of them on less that half a season, some of our best signings in history took at least half a season to get up to speed. This is exactly why in my opinion we are struggling and will continue to struggle regardless of the manager. Experienced pros seem able to slot into a side and show their best form relatively quickly. We are desperate for a leader in midfield, and an experienced keeper. If we are relegated, our lack of experience will be to blame.

Who are these young inexperienced players we’ve signed?
As far as I’m concerned that’s another myth perpetuated by the managers post match press each time we lose!!

Wigan had an average age of 23.1 compared to Rovers' 24.6 and beat us 4-0. Barnsley beat us with an average age of 25.8 compared to our 25.7. Rovers beat Northampton with an average age of 26.6. Northampton's was 28.4. Newly promoted Stockport had exactly the same average age and beat us convincingly.
