Clearly no queue of volunteers to start this one so if it all goes tits up (won’t be the first time v much lower league opposition) then this will be my first and last mdt! For what it’s worth, especially with our scarcity of choices up front, this will not be a 5 0 methinks. Can see us choosing the strongest team available as if we were to lose hard to see MT staying in role. Surely we will start on the front foot; traditionally if you get on top on these games and get 1 or 2 goals it’s a long way back for the opposition. The longer they are in the game the more it gets edgy so with my positive thinking hat on I can see us winning by 2-1 or 3-1 with their goal a late consolation.

Opportunity for some of the strikers to get going and maybe build up a bit of confidence…

Many moons ago late 50's,the FA Cup rules stated that in the event of a colour clash, the HOME team would change.City's change wasn't a sufficient contrast so they borrowed our home shirts.Weird seeing them walk out in the Quarters. The stand opp the main one was a bit ramshackle where I stood but a lot smarter these days. Also saw us beat them at Ashton in the FA Cup ,courtesy of Geoff Bradford.Late 50's too.
NB.Huddersfield keeper OG tonight would not have counted if he hadn't touched it as you can't score direct from a throw in.

It’s an idea though…if we think the match day is a day earlier than them we can rack up a big lead before they get on the pitch…given the form of our strikers that might be two or three nil!

6-1 no drama. Anything closer than that and the heat is on.

Reflecting back to the Whitby match last season, we should again be fitter, sharper, controlling the early stages & a goal or two inside the first 20 would do wonders for any nerves amongst player or supporter.
We really should have too much for them all over the park, apply ourselves correctly & do a professional job it’ll all be grand.

6-1 no drama. Anything closer than that and the heat is on. No way this is happening. If Weston have any sense they should keep launching it forward at every opportunity as we’ve got defensive errors in us. I’m going Weston take the lead after 75, we equalise late, then lose a humiliating shootout 3-1.

After watching the Huddersfield game last night nothing should be taken for granted regardless of how the goal was scored. I actually think WSM could score from a corner we are dreadful at defending. I think they will give it their all whether we do is a different matter! The only time I have seen passion with this team and manager is last week at Reading.

Hopefully the team are up for this or could be a long afternoon. Be nice to have the fans backing the team too, like at Reading.
Think we’ll edge past them in a nervy 2-1 win. Martin and Sinclair (pen)

WSM have scored so many goals from crosses this season. They get it wide, have decent delivery & importantly load the box - unlike us. You have to hope Taylor & coaches have worked on stopping getting balls in, as I don’t envisage WSM carving us open through the middle. Based on MTs presser this week I think Bryant might have a role to play upfront again, with Martin only likely to get a half to an hour. Hutchinson is proving to a few doubters that he does have ability on the ball, so we need to get him plenty of the ball to create.

From bucket and spades where the tide is always out to pulling birds on the dodgems, WSM has always had something to offer for anything geographically close to Bristol.
I'm sure like many others, can remember being excited at prospect of day at seaside and being the first one in the car to spot the sea!?
If we don't win this one, there'll be different types of C being spotted and shouted at out there!
Much respect to WsM for getting this far, but we've got to be ruthless here and take our chances... they'll be in for a nice little windfall and we'll all go home happy.... surely?
If we make this hard on ourselves by stupid formation and/or players playing out of position..... then good luck WsM, because we're not paying them respect.
I see Gas win incoming. Put it out of sight in 1st half, squad rotate to hearts content 2nd.....these matches have been useful for acting as a catalyst for confidence and form of some players in past (most notably Jase and his Welling day) so hopefully Ruel or the like van kick on from this with a goal or two and shape their season more positively.
4-0 Gas. Only sing in the summer. Bye bye half of Birmingham. Great day out with a flake stuck in the top.

Let's see. There's a load of matches today involving non league and there will be a lot of goals against them I think. A few on here are predicting upsets so there will be some big winners amongst the forum with the bookies!

Looking at Tamworth last night, any comparison should start and end at the fact it was non league vs league one. Taking nothing away from their great night, but it was no victory on Hudds turf, but a tiny narrow fake pitch (awful to play on) and all the home comforts to back them up.
On our snooker table, the nice wide surface we should get at them early. Likely the biggest ground most WSM players will ever play in and in front of the biggest crowd. They’ll try to sit in and ride out the first half hour, an early goal is imperitive.
Gas 5 - 1 WSM
