Good debate Gasheads. Let's just see how the election turns out! Rich the way i see it is some of us are debating but you seem unwilling to hold your corner, several people have replied directly to you and raised some good point in showing in our opinions that a lot of what milliband has said is already being done, the one that gets up my nose is their policy that the nhs is falling apart and people arnt getting the help they need, as i have used the services as a use and the father of someone with severe disabilities( to be clear Ann-Marie Irene suffered with the following, muscular dystrophy, her shoulders were semi fused resulting in restricted movement, she had a pigeon chest so had permanent pressure on her internal organs, her spine worked better backwards than forwards, she could bend backwards at 90 degrees but only 40 or so degrees forward, she also had a mental illness which meant she would regress to a child like state, and finally epilepsy, the various service which she used used to speak to each other, ie social services would talk to her occupation therapist ,bristol city council etc. the upshot of this was everybody involved in her care were aware of her health, she had an epilepsy nurse who would visit her at home several times a month, and would ask not only about her epilepsy but her health in general and also ask wendy and myself how we were getting on (the last bit alone means a lot to carers)`, here is an example of a situation of the various agencies pulling together. Ann-Marie wanted to change her name, so we got her social worker out to prove she was capable of making those decisions(we knew she was but needed it on record as her biological sperm donor would kick up she chose to add Irene as it was important ) , the social worker also asked how we were getting on i mentioned that wendy and myself now had to bath Ann-Marie as she was having fits in the bath and could no longer wash her arm pits or back. they made a note a few days later we got a phone call from physio, and had an appointment within a few weeks they gave her excersies to keep her mobile a bit longer, her epilepsy nurse came to visit and asked yo see the bathroom and made a report, again a few weeks later we got a phone call to ask if someone from the council could visit, she arrived inspected the bathroom and said its not good enough we need to do some mods, then she asked why the sink was loose, Ann-Marie in her own classical way said i was having a poo and had a fit and fell of the bog into it(not as polite as that ) , within a month we had a call asking if they could come back and install some equipment, a foldable safety rail was fitted so Ann-Marie Irene could not hit the sink if she had a fit, hand rails were positioned so she could got on and off the toilet easier, a removable bog seat was added to allow Ann-Marie to sit more comfortably on the throne, a big shock for us was they also bought a reclining bath chair which allowed not only us to get Ann-Marie Irene into and out of the bath easier but more importantly allowed her to have that little glimpse of freedom and independence by allowing her to do it herself, she was also in constant pain so she was sent to pain management. AS you can also imagine Ann-Marie Irene was also getting disability living allowance , which allowed her to buy any food she wanted for he packed lunches, it also paid for her day care and one night a month respite, and allowed her a few pennies over a month to treat herself. Her care was a 24/7 thing but Wendy and myself were grateful for the help. We dont want sympathy, The point im trying to make is two big labour policies are about getting the nhs and other agencies to work together, and improve mental health care. If the above example isn't enough to show that those policies are already working, i dont know what labour expect they can do but it's a blatant attempt to use clever wording to mean we will leave it as it is but you will believe we created this level of care. I am also a user of the services but thats another story thats been wrote about before so will leave it for now. On the points raised above you mentioned your sister is also ill(something i would not wish on others) so how does her care vary from the above example and how do you think labour can improve upon it ,as to be frankly honest if other people with illness or disabilities arn't getting that level of care then they need to get someone in to sort it out. Inee, I have followed your true story and I know that it has been a difficult time for you and the people you care about. I can see that you have received excellent service. Not everyone has had the good fortune, Many have to wait more than 4 hours to get into a&he, wait days to make an appointment to see doctors and my mother had to wait 17 days in a hospital werd while the NHS and local authority decided what home was best for her. I would like to see more of the policies that the Tories are going to inflict on us. All I see above are people questioning the labour policies. Got any of your own - or is everything all right. The labour suggested vote in London is impressive. I understand that in some swing seats labour is 15% better than 2010. Looks like millions more are voting LABOUR. They know IT makes sense.

sorry if it seems off topic a tad, but it is relevant to the labour policies. The service we received is available to anyone, we arn't special, It's just a case of staying calm when dealing with them, the r4eal issue and it doesn't matter who is in power is that some people don't know how to get services, Google is a great leveller in getting in contact with service providers. Another problem is peoples pride, they wont ask for help and as the nhs arn't mind readers it's difficult to help these people. If you know someone who isn't getting the help they need make enquires on their behalf. Wendy and myself were too proud but there comes a point where people need help. Not questioning labour per-se but trying to correct some outrageous lies as you can see from above. I have also made no secret of the fact that due to circumstances out of my control i have to live on benefits (As the dead kennedys said IT's tough kid but it life), But at the same time i realise that as a country we are skint so i have to tighten my belt when my benefit has been cut im grateful i live in a country that helps people. Things are far from alright but these cuts are needed to try and balance the books, i've already outlined the way i would try and deal with the economy, i.e close the borders ,remove illegals, any immigrant who commits crime send em home, pull out of europe, it's a monkey on our backs we could live without, stop sending money overseas as aid, first and foremost we need to help those born and bred here ,regardless of colour, once they have been sorted by all means open the borders but only to those with a skill the country needs. It's so easy to do it's unbelievable that due to the pc brigade everyone but british people are being sorted first. The thing with Labour and others attacking the rich is that these people do pay taxes but when the rates go up they seek ways to wriggle out of it who wouldn't, it's far better to receive say 250k from each rich person a year rather than upping the rate of tax and receiving say 700k for one year only as they have said sod this and moved abroad, think of the repocutions of many of the rich moving all of their wealth out of our banking system, maybe just maybe this is one reason the tories keep the tax for them at a reasonable rate. Another thing is i've been working class all my life, but have never voted for labour and never will, even though my dad did, but towards the end of his life even he started voting tory, like he said its better to vote for the real tories then the fake red version You may be right and labour may get voted in as historically this happens, ie labour destroying the countries wealth that the tories left, and blaming the tories, tories get voted in and get tough but everyone seems to forget that during these tough times more people work, more people have money in their pockets, it's a cycle that will continue for ever, The reason i would never dirty my hands ticking the labour box is the last Pm was a bleeding heart drug dealer, he had a chance to destroy the poppy fields controlled by the Taliban but wouldn't if i remember his line correctly it was think of the poor farmer if we destroy his crop he wont eat, roughly translated to keep the addicts down we don't want these people voting as long as there are junkies ,we have a target to deflect the blame on, whereas my attitude is they have destroyed enough people over the years if they cant eat tough fookin sh**. The Pm before brown was a warmongering tit, i hold him personally responsible for Dam up the lives of so many of our troops and their families, with his oh look they farted lets invade, the guy is a war criminal it's about time he was sent to the hauge , to answer. If you look back further the country was on its knees as labour were held to ransom by the unions. rubbish piled in streets, leccy going off randomly. I fear a return to those times under labour Still nuff said;)

A & E times are longer especially for the poor folk of East Bristol.rich won't tell you that it was a Labour government decision to close down Frenchay and create the so called super hospital at Southmead.
I had to use A&E last year and rather than wait at Southmead I went to Bath Royal.I waited over 4 hrs no problem for me as my injury wasn't life threatening. The people being rushed in on ambulances were priority and rightly so just as we're small children being brought in by anxious parents.
Doctors waiting rooms are jammed packed with people who could describe their ailments to a pharmacist and receive treatment accordingly.
I get the impression that the Labour diehards are rather selfish and expect the impossible from the NHS.No amount of money will make the NHS better it is a black hole for tax payers money.

Talk to the doctors and nurses it's awful. Vote labour! Rich if a party was in power and public sector workers only did 3 hours a day with a 2.5 hour lunch break and 2x 15 minute tea breaks with 6 month holiday a year they would still moan about something. talk to the doctors and nureses in 3 months and if labour get in you will find the still say its awful

Maybe that's where you and I differ. I am much more hopeful about the future and know that workers deserve so much better. I guess you are not a wavering voter! Let's see what happens tomorrow.

Let's see what happens tomorrow. yes my mind can be changed on who to vote for but ive already stated and given reasons why i would never vote labour, the thing is imo that unless someone other than the two big parties get in it will be the same cycle. tories change things to try to balance the country, labour follow change nothing and blame the tories, i would never vote lib dem either for two reasons the first is the way they joined forces, and the second is years ago they said they were in favour of banning angling, which is one of the biggest pastimes in this country, yeah i am fickle

Labour are the party most like football club owners....spending money they don't have left, right and centre (well mostly left)....they would have probably got away with it *if* the financial crisis hadn't happened, but i) it did and ii) it happened on their watch so they are to blame.
They honestly can't seem to see anything wrong with spending more money than they have and hoping someone will solve it 5-10-15 years down the line. The Greens and the SNP are even worse as they willingly want to spend more money than they have with no thought as to how it will be paid back.
Austerity is not a dirty word. It's also called budgeting/being sensible. Sooner or later you have to stop spending more than you have. I honestly can't see a better outcome for the country than a Con/LibDem coalition as it's the most likely way to get back to not having a deficit and actually being able to start paying back the national debt once more

Dude if you were here with me now that post alone would have earn't you a pint of washing up liquid, hang your head in shame and wash your mouth out, im quite vocal on the forums about the green part but not in a good way, let me put it like this, if the green leader was the last female and party on earth and offered me £1million for a vote , i would spoilt the balot and make lurve to a tree. your probably thinking now that your calculator needs to be renewed, there is no was i could bring myself to vote green, if you are open minded read their manifesto on their website, if it doesnt scare you then nothing will

Inee, you have been conned by the right rhetoric. Here are some broken pledges by the tories. You just can't trust them!
What they promised - what they did!
Balance books - failed budget deficit £90billion Improve living standards - familirs are 1,100 a year worse off Protect vulnerable from cuts - one million now use food banks GP access promised 12 hours a day 7 days a week - patients face a 10 day wait in some areas We will support and improve sure start - 763 sure start centres closed Protect the NHS - 40% nhs contracts go to private firms Increase spending on flood defences - budget cut thousands of homes flooded invest in schools - 700 new schools axed Disabled into jobs - R employ factories closed and disabled subject to atos tests Create security for British businesses- hsbc the first of many planning to leave Britain due to tory uncertainty on Europe
You can't trust the tories. Vote LABOUR so they can sort this mess out again!!!

The wealthy walk on by counting the benefits of the wealth that has been created for them this last 5 years. It might be ok for you, but you are being conned my friend. You deserve better and within hours hopefully a labour alternative will bring fairness to the many and not the few. A few bristol rivers fans might benefit from the Tories, many many will not.
