What areas do you think needs strengthening? Goalkeeper and striker for me. Hopefully we can have Jermaine Easter fully fit for the start of the new season and maybe partnered by Ellis but im afraid Matty Taylor won't cut it in the FL. Missed far too many chances this season

I think Taylor is an instinctive player and does't do well when he has time to think such as one on ones. Counter-intuitively he may be okay in a higher league as he will have less time to think.
We seem to lack pace out wide so would look at two wingers. Assuming Lines signs and Easter is fit I would look to strengthen the squad with another defender and replacements for anyone DC releases rather than wholesale changes to the starting eleven.
After a few games we will have a better understanding and one or two loans can come in then.

New CB. Ours have been fab, best defensive record and all that but actually I think muck of that is due to poor attacking and shooting. Even on Sunday, we got opened easily a few times in the first 20 due to simple long balls and a lack of pace in the middle. If no knew quicker CB then our team need to learn how to keep possession a bit better so as to take the pressure of off our defensive unit, who have been great against Conf attacks.
Then sign Lines or a creative alternative to pair with Mans/Beard. The winger we still talk about. Santos! Dela Verde? A another out n out winger.
That's it.

Pretty much agree but I'd keep Leads and move Lockyer inside. Can't see Macca playing at CB all season, though I'd love it if he did.

Would like to see Danny Green here, attacking right sided midfielder/ winger. He was at Dagenham and went to Charlton now at Franchise Dons. We need to score more goals, the defence is good it is just the final third that we struggle.

Happy with our keepers, happy with our back line (perm 4 from 6), Happy with our strikers (if Easter gets fit and fulfills potential), Happy with our central midfielders assuming we get Lines (Wouldn't want to start with Clarke and Sinclair, but they're a good back up). Happy with Monkhouse. Blimey, it's hard to be ruthless when you've just won a Wembley final.
I guess we need two extra wingers, and an extra striker would be nice. But it feels really harsh to, say, get rid of Clarke and bring in a fourth central midfielder. But then, I'm not paid to do that, but if I were paid to make those decisions, I guess that would be the sort of thing we need to do. Same thing with getting in a new central defender.

----------------------New Keeper-------------------------
Locks/Leads------Parkes---------McCrystal-----------Brown
NEW WINGER--------Lines--------Mansell---------NEW WINGER
------------------Harrison---Taylor-----------------------
Didn't our top two just finish the season with 47 between them?! Be very surprised indeed if it isn't those two up top come the first day of next season also. If we can get Easter fit as well then I think that is 3 very good strikers at league 2 level.
Don't think our defense needs to be touched personally. Probably the best part of our team this year so we owe it to them to give them another go in league football with a better team in front of them. Both Parkes and McCrystal have come on leaps and bounds this season so as I say, they most definitely deserve a chance. Right back is the only position that concerns me slightly as I think both Leads and Tom are some way off the standard of Brown. Having said that, it's not like either are terrible and between then they could well push each other for a starting place this season and get the better out of each other.
New keeper is essential as for me Puddy was a little shaky at conference level so really can't see that changing in the league and also Monkhouse and Gos are again not good enough to make the step up either. I do hope we keep Monkhouse though as I think he is a great part of the squad in terms of the experience he offers and more to the point he can cover all the way across the midfield.
As for the wingers, I wouldn't be dissapointed with Dawson at all and I suspect with how close he seems to have kept an eye on us since departing that he might be keen also.

I will be surprised if we don't lose any of the back four during the summer, so cover in that area may be a must.
Right side midfield/winger is a must as well

Missed far too many chances this season Dump off our top scorer? No thanks. He really got going in the second half of the season and we'd be mad to let him go. Also, if Easter's injury is ligaments surely he'll be back way later than August?

Not sure we need a keeper. Puddy has done pretty well and is particularly good at holding on to crosses into the box. If Mildenhall wants to stay in the area and is happy to take a pay cut he'd be a more than adequate #2.
Defence is fine. Only decision there is whether we keep Trotman as cover or look elsewhere.
Not sure we need a striker either. Taylor and Harrison look to be developing a good partnership and we'll hopefully have a fully fit Easter next season as well. Not convinced about Blissett but he's under contract and does at least give us a different option. However, if we could get Blissett out on loan I'd like to think we could sign a better target man.
I'd keep Monkhouse on the left. I think he's undervalued and links up well with Brown.
We need to sign Lines and a right winger.
So:
GK - If Puddy or Mildenhall leave CB - If Trotman leaves CM - Lines RW - New Winger (Dawson or Della Verde?) ST - If Blissett goes out on loan
Obviously if other fringe players leave (Gosling, Balanta, Ollie Clarke etc) or we lose any of our better players, they will also need replacing.

Above all else we must learn lessons from the 2007 promotion season and not loose the team spirit that has built up over the season.

To me Easter was limping around Wembley and I will be very surprised if he is fit for the start of the season but hope he is. I think the biggest lesson learned from going down to the Conference must be that you need good wingers. For the first season in a long time I have faith that the Manager will get the decisions right as regards who to offload and who to bring in.
An important thing to remember is that the first "improvement" is a return to 7 on the bench which means you do need a bigger squad. The important decision is how to retain the team spirit and the togetherness of the squad and by that I mean that we,as supporters look at the team on how they perform each week and that is it.DC will know who clicks everyday of the week and who keeps other players on their toes. He will also be looking at those players he thinks he can improve ie Blissett and those who he thinks can play at the higher level.
I have my opinions but have thought long and hard and the day after a great season is not the time for us as supporters to be "writing off" players. rather we should still be celebrating what EVERYONE of those players gave at one time or another during the season and the obvious signs that everyone of them WANTED to be playing for the Quarters.Perhaps even one or two of them NEEDED a run of games to reach their ability level but couldn't get those runs of games because the team was getting successful results.
Let's leave very difficult decisions to the only people who see the all round picture of how each of those players contributed, our Management team.

Difficult balancing act, but I wouldn't want more than three extra new faces in (not counting Lines or Dawson who have been part of the team already) as it could affect the dressing room dynamics. Also too large a squad, say over 24, and it stifles the youth players' progress.
At what point do we look for league 1 standard to get up there and just as importantly compete and at what point does that become us overreaching ourselves too soon?
Interesting summer on and off the pitch.

2 wingers ( I'd be happy with Dawson and LDV). A new Keeper ( Mildy a little bit past it, don't rate Puddy) Send Bliss out on loan and bring in a striker on loan. Other than that I wouldn't dick about with it too much. If it ain't broke don't fix it.
