For me no drastic changes. GKs fine for L2. Centre Backs fine and Trotman great back up. Lockyer is a fine utility player and is by no means a finished article, he played his best game for us on Sunday. I would go with him as our right back as he is consistent and improving all the time. Leadbitter got better with games Woking away he played fantastically, great squad player. Browner class no probs. Our issue was creativity and lack of pace when in L2 last time. I love the Monkhouse Brown partnership key in a lot of tight matches. Would keep monkey as his expierence and positional play is second to none at this level. I would sign 2 wingers Nathan Arnold (Grimsby) and Jai Reason (Eastleigh) or similar. Cm's keep all and sign Lines. Ollie Clarke is a good footballer and scored vital goals vs Telford, Eastleigh and Gateshead, a good squad player who is young, hungry with a point to prove also has league expierence. Mansell to fight for place with the beard, these two are the fittest players at the club. Anyone who says Mansells legs are gone then let Sunday put that to bed, also expierenced at L2 level. Gosling technically gifted and scored some great goals, needs to improve his consistency and all round game, he is young with a great attitude and will improve in time. Balanta never got going DC has to make a decision on him. Up top excites me next season. Blissett needs to improve but what potential he has. A full pre season will help him as a big move half way in season for a youngster was always a big ask to hit the ground running. He did score goals then died off, would hate to mark him. Easter still to prove his fitness but the CV does his talking for now. Taylor has a point to prove in L2 and will be hungry to quiet the doubters. Ellis could go either way next season for me, he could fall flat on his face or he could be our next big thing. It all depends on his attitude and work ethic which improved with great results this season. In all a very good strike force with good options.
We currently have a squad of players that have been successful in the main. Let's not change that and learn from seasons past. We are going into L2 with stability, togetherness, and men that will run through a wall for Bristol Rovers, something we have not had since Trollope was in charge. I believe the management team will make the necessary tweaks required. UTG

IMO the one area we need really to strengthen is up front. Can't rely solely on Matty Taylor again next Season....we need someone else that's going to get twenty or thirty goals. I know he's only a youngster, but I've seen enough of Blissett this Season to suggest he is not the man or the job. Whenever he's played he's struggled, against some poor Conference defences, so there's nothing to say he'd be any different in L2.
It can be a cruel game but I'm afraid to say he aint good enough. The cynic inside me says the only reason he has reached this level is because of his Surname.

There is talk of us taking a gamble on a young U21 player who notched 15 goals in the conference last season. I am excited to see who it might be!

Ellis is the only under 21 that got anywhere near to 15 league goals. Jordan Cox got 10 for Braintree. Must be Conference North/South.

I think we definitely need a left winger, a right winger, and a keeper. A young striker and a young CM would be nice too. Assuming we keep Trotman and don't lose Parkes, I think we're okay for defenders.

Yeah, give the kid a chance. Let's see what he can do, if needed. If he doesn't cut it we'll have to look for a loanee. Although that leaves the risk on missing out on someone. As I said last year they will be loads of footballers looking for work.

We need to do our business early, fed up when mark magoo said we would have the squad assembled by October, we need a good start next season, we always seem slow off the blocks. I trust DC to get things finalised early so the new players can become part of the squad, and we can kick on. Two wingers, Linesy, and another striker and centre half would be on my wish list. Prefer to shop non league or released from prem/ championship academy. Akinola and young from Torquay two good players with potential.

I doubt Liverpool are going to release a player who was playing for England earlier this year? They'll probably still want a decent transfer fee for him.

Nathan said in his interview that Luther is a distant relative that he doesn't really know. Think the lad has made it this far off his own back. He was playing university football a couple of years ago before kiddy picked him up. Let's not write him off just yet. Yes, I agree he is raw and not yet good enough for league 2. Let's loan him out to the conference and see where he is at in a season or 2 . Remember we've just seen an ex player fire his side to the top of the conference after not being able to hit a barn door a few seasons back.

Why not stick with him?

Our strikers come in for some when the real problem is often service.

Lol! I think some of your sarcasm detectors need a service chaps!
I was of course talking about our very own Ellis Harrison who so many seem very keen to forget all about when talking about strikers for next season!

5 goals in 25 games (and one of those was a lucky re-bound off the shin) is not a great return for a striker, regardless of the level they are playing at.
We need another 20+ goal a season man to help Taylor out...something we have lacked now for a number of Seasons.
The Midfielders have chipped in with their fair share thankfully, but don't forget we went down in the first place because of inferior goal difference.
In most other occupations, if you are not up to the task you are shown the door and replaced...harsh but true.

We need more for next season up top.

Dare I say.... We have Jermaine Easter next season, with a full pre season under his belt?
