The thread was started on the back of Bristols latest failure. The teds start and contribute to threads about us everyday! Very very true, i agree. The thread was started on the back of Bristols latest failure. - Pretty sad though starting a thread about another team losing on a Forum called GasChat, but each to their own. The teds start and contribute to threads about us everyday! - And don't we know it, someone starts a thread about it regularly... So to show we are so much better than them we do the same - Good show. If you like rubbing peoples noses in it, just be prepared for the karma. Each to their own though all about opinions. Karma? This is Bristol Rovers! There isn't a gashead in the land that hasn't had their nose rubbed in it for the past xx years. Immune to it now tumshie!

We've suffered for years anyway.

Have to say I watched the game last night and felt very sorry for the Bristol players and fans. I've been to many games over the years but now that horrible individual has bought them it really is difficult to get behind them.
Also, it isn't the fans who chose to move to Trashton or play in red. However they have just bent over and taken it rather than stand up for 125 years of tradition. It's no different than what happened to Cardiff.
I understand why so many Rovers fans feel how they do as it's quite clear that Landsdown is trying to wipe Rovers from the map. His billboards proclaiming "two teams in Bristol" meaning the turd and the egg chasers is enough to make any Rovers fan's blood boil.
He's supposedly making Bristol proud but all he's actually doing is turning half of Bristol against the rugby, basketball, women's football and whatever other sports he decides are his new play thing. I had to laugh when reading an article last week where he compared what he's doing to Barcelona and the sporting empire they have there. He really is deluded.

Think they've been unlucky personally, but can understand some peoples issues with them, but i wish them well, that's just me and because i have a fair few friends who support Bris. One thing that needs to be said though cause it's true, is Bristol RFC play in dark blue and white. Lansdown wanted to change to red but considered the Bris fans opinions and reverted to their traditional colours with a compromise of wearing red as their away kit. They wore red in various home games though. In the semi against Rotherham they wore it despite not needing to.

Without SL their would be no Bristol Rugby or Bristol Ladies Football team, because their was no one else to put the money in.

The most ridiculous system ever, the idiots at the RFU who thought up their play off system have denied team after team who have won the league, the ultimate prize, promotion. Having said that, Bristol rugby club have now bowed down to their owner and played in red. At least Mr VT just across the bridge has seen the error of his ways and returned his team to play in the best colours, blue and white!

Let's not forget also the whole play-off debacle was voted in by Briz in the first place. If they had left it as it was they would have gone straight back up at the first time of asking. How can a system where you win the league outright but not go straight up be fair ? Anyway stupid game played by fat blokes that were never good enough to play footie. Keep throwing your money away pantsdown.

The day that Bristol rugby fans on mass say " thank you Bristol Rovers for saving us from administration by taking on our tatty ground " is the day I will feel sorry for them when they don't win ! I don't think I will have to do that very soon.

Although I have feel that they should have been promoted as leaders of the division by a wide margin I found myself taking pleasure from the fact that they missed out again. If you look on the Briz forum you will find there is little goodwill towards us so if karma does exist it is evident there .

I am not supporting his Bristol Sport Empire, or even suggesting he saved Bristol from the kindness of his heart, but without him their wouldn't be a Rugby club.
Yes they have moved, and from a business point of view it makes sense. It's not like he has moved them to Timbuktu either just to another (better) stadium in Bristol
Who really cares about a Red away shirt
As for chucking Bristol's traditions out the window, there are plenty of other people that can also be blamed for that and running Bristol water poorly

They sold their soul to Lansdown and his money.
It wont be long until he has them playing in Red and changing their name to Bristol Robins. That will be the final nail in the coffin for Bristol RFC.
Just because he is pumping money into them doesn't wash with me. If a new billionaire owner came into Rovers and said he wanted to relocate us to Bedminster would any of us be having that? Not a ****g cat in hells chance.
They sold their soul to that egotistical bellend.

I think the more likely name is Bristol Bottlers.

Actually without Bristol Rovers there would not have been a rugby club for him to save. They would have gone out of business had we not bought the Mem where was Lansdown then?.

I know we saved them as well. That’s the point I am making. Bristol have been so badly run for so long, that they worrying about ‘tradition’s and selling their soul is a rubbish argument.
Ignore Lansdown for a minute and imagine he wasn’t on the scene. We absolutely would have taken them to the UWE (if it was built). We would have taken them out of their home. That wouldn’t be our fault, that would have been Bristol RFC’s.
it is just another reason for some to hate Lansdown.
Perhaps Bristol should have just died 2 or 3 time over and be playing whatever counts for even lower division Rugby
