I know opinions are like arseholes, in that we've all got one, but there are some famous big name bands and singers out there who are basically utter shoite !
U2 - I would kill each and every one of them with a 2lb lump hammer. Coldplay - Utter utter drival. Saw them live after being dragged there screaming and kicking by a top-notch blonde. Meatloaf - Imagine my delight when taken out on a 'surprise date' only to find myself at a Meatloaf concert. I lost the will to live. Dire Straits - The name says it all, Dire !
Who are the bands/singers you love to hate ?

Thing is, I see your point, but I love live music and I've seen a lot of live acts...sometimes you genuinely get a surprise - for example, I saw the Stereophonics (unheard of at that point) the first of three warm-up acts to Skunk Anansie in Bristol in the late 1990s...that gig changed my life as afterwards I started considering paying attention to the warm-up acts... ...but I'd still like the chance to see U2, Coldplay (and possibly) Meatloaf live, just never got around to it yet because of the cost and the hassle. So probably never will, as the cost will be prohibitive whilst they're good and the show will be poor once they're bad...

Meatloaf - Just sweats a lot and attempts the old James Brown thing of collapsing on stage at the end of every performance. Nowadays, he spends most of the time mopping the sweat from his face with a towel. He cannot hold any notes......in fact, I don't think he can actually hit what is generically called a 'note'. Coldplay - Twice they stopped in the middle of a track to tell someone in the audience to "shut the f**k up" (those were the exact words used by Chris Martin) as the song they were attempting to sing was a quiet love song. Pretentious up-their-own-arse tossers. U2 - Never seen them live, but the mere thought would have me reaching for the rusty spoon to gouge my eyes out, and the hot knitting needles to stick in my ears. .....and I haven't even started on about Sting yet !

I'll take your word for it...the last band I saw live was The Prodigy (May 2015), couldn't stop grinning or dancing from the first notes of 'Breathe' to the end of the encore. Cost me £42+booking fee per ticket, but was worth every penny...and that's why I won't pay similar to see Meatloaf, Coldplay or U2...like to pick and chose my live gigs so recommendations are welcome (currently have the Foo Fighters at Wembley this month and Hot Chip in October)

I'm not saying they are talentless.
But the frenzied wankfest over the Beatles never ceases to amaze me.
They were alright, but seriously overrated.
The Stones were much better than them
Also, the fact that Macca has been utterly sh** on his own, as was Harrison and Ringo...well is Ringo, would indicate that at least 3/4 of the Beatles were shitehawks.

At least Ringo managed to spread out from the music and was successful in another field......Thomas the Tank Engine anyone?
The Stones were very good when they were young, but haven't produced anything decent for 40 years !

Macca's voice has gone now I think in all fairness.

Have to disagree, the beatles aren't my favourite band but i love the way they tried different stuff from pop to rock and back, sometime you hear a song and think is that the beatles and it is, Havent got much time for the stones dreadful band, shockingly untallented theres only a few stones songs i like

for me most bands, cant call em bands really, are sh**e these days, cant sing ,cant play instruments, cant perform without trickery to make em sound in key etc Much prefer earlier rock ,punk and oi as a lot of those bands sound the same live as on record. Can't stand elton john one of the most talented waste of air ever. think elvis was very overated Theres an advert on tv atm, heard the music and though christ its like early ramones, raw and exciting so had to look it up Bass Drum of Death – Nerve Jamming
I'm not adverse to other forms of music, buddy holly is brilliant
