First game of the season for me.
352 was terrible - Lines & Clarke too deep.
Overall, we'll be in the bottom 8 - hope to be proved wrong!
Easter & Parkes unfit and overweight!!! Lines flattered to deceive.
Atmosphere was average - the club have failed to build on the momentum from the Play-offs!

Parkes was utter rubbish today and you can blame him for both goals. Time for a change at the back me thinks

If we dont get rid soon, he will do it again

Outplayed for most of the game by a team that looks as if they will be there or thereabouts.

Tb absolutely h, I thought Portsmouth were good. They were faster and stronger and their passes were more accurate. Their central defenders won practically everything. I thought we looked good at the start of both halves, but not for long. DL played well and got forward just as much in a 442 as in the 352, although maybe he was risking it because we needed to. Unlike others on here, I thought Easter had a decent game too. If his post-thumper had gone in...
We have played some of the better teams so I'm not panicking yet. My guess is we'll finish around halfway. 15th lowest.

Anyone who thinks Portsmouth were ***** has their head up their arse. Really? How many chances did they create?

Except for a couple of spells, they kept the ball much better and were stronger and sharper IMO. I think we play too many "raking" 50-yard passes that either go out or are kept in only by such effort that the receiver loses any advantage and has to play it backwards. Portsmouth didn't do that - they played crisp direct passes to feet and broke fast. They were stronger physically a lot of the time too.

not according to the stats? I'm not there but sky and bbc both say they dominated They had three chances. Took two and Nicholls saved the third. Portsmouth only looked ok when we stood off. Defend from the front is a very old saying. Well Harrison and Easter did f**k all of that. the stats say otherwise old boy

Thought Easter had a shocking first half, I guess he had an half time rollicking as he was superb for 15 mins then oddly DC subbed him for the totally ineffective Taylor. As I said before the match I'm sure Harrison is more effective from the bench than starting.
At the back Parkes just looks shaky without McChrystal alongside him perhaps on Tuesday it's time for McChrystal to replace J Clarke?

We are fine at the back. It's our lack of intent from the middle and shot shy strikers holding us back. Our midfield are miles away from their opposite numbers! Where are the driving runs from Lines? Why don't the wide lads cut in and aim for the heart of the opposition?

Make no bones about it. We are in huge trouble. We have no plan B as our squad is so small. 5 defeats out of 6 at home. Virtually no effort whatsoever. Portsmouth were sh**e. They had two chances and took them both. Portsmouth were sh**e?! Are you kidding me? They were wearing black by the way.

Was glad to see Easter off but agree he stepped it up after half time, but Taylor was shocking. I fear both need to go. I think Ellis was far better for the whole 90 but needs better service and a partner. Thought Bodin deserved more time

portsmouth look a very good side at this level and deserved to win,,,we had good spells and good moments, easters long shot that hit the post was superb but some of our players are finding it hard to make the grade at the higher level. harrison and taylor were invisible for me today and ollie clarke had a nightmare along with tom parkes who is more comfortable in a back 4 than 3 i think its too early to panic but for me we look weak upfront and thats a worry
