Thought Easter had a shocking first half, I guess he had an half time rollicking as he was superb for 15 mins then oddly DC subbed him for the totally ineffective Taylor. For some reason I found myself watching Easter for most of the warm-up - I think the reason he caught my eye was because he misplaced three passes in 30 seconds at the start...then he looked half-arsed for the rest of the warm-up...silly little things like doing 3 stretches when all the other players were doing 4 or 5 (for that particular part of the routine), taking an age to take his training top off and put his bib back on. Basically he looked like the kid in a PE class who couldn't get a note from his mum and was being forced to do it, and that's why I wasn't surprised at his woeful first half performance. To be honest I wasn't overly impressed with his second-half performance either, scoring the goal and hitting the post just mask the fact that whatever wavelength he's on it doesn't seem to be the same as any of his team-mates and is being read very easily by the opposition...

First game of the season for me. 352 was terrible - Lines & Clarke too deep. Overall, we'll be in the bottom 8 - hope to be proved wrong! Easter & Parkes unfit and overweight!!! Lines flattered to deceive. Atmosphere was average - the club have failed to build on the momentum from the Play-offs! They have, simply because they have shown faith in the bloke that took us down. If we dont get rid soon, he will do it again So tbonegas what would you do different...no you can't buy anyone (probably nor can DC), no you can't pay for a loan player (probably nor can DC)
Very easy to criticise ...but what would you do different

On performances so far we'll only stay up if newport welsh and yeovile or other clubs continue to be absolute garbage. Ollie clark, gosling and parkes nowhere near good enough.

Pick Easter & Parkes as soon as they've dirched the Garry Kenneth diet!
Stick Mansell behind Lines and the have him operating 10 -15 yards higher up the pitch!
That'll do for starters!

Not convinced Mansell is good enough for this league personally. Or that he has the legs to play in a 4-4-2 in it (alongside someone like Lines), at least.

I've seen every game so far this season and we're better than some teams and not as good as others.
We didn't play well against Northampton or Accrington and were beaten by the better team against Orient and Portsmouth.
However, we battered Yeovil, deservedly beat Luton, picked up a convincing win against Barnet, more than matched Plymouth and were robbed against Oxford.
I guess the worrying thing is that we're now 5 games games without a win, losing 4 and not scoring enough goals but it's still too early to start pressing the panic button or calling for heads.

Neither Parkes or Easter are exactly overweight, every season Parkes gets called fat when it's obvious he's just got a big build. People with that body type will always be like that and will struggle to change it!

Not sure we were "robbed" against Oxford as we created little in that game before OC's sending off and also when down to 10 v 10, we lost a point max from that game. Add together DC's first league games in charge, when we only won 1, this seasons 3 pre-season games at the Mem and are form must be something like P:11 W:2 D2 L:7 under DC against league teams. I can't see the present squad of players turning things around.
