Nichols - 3, I'm afraid he's neither the short or long term solution. I'd send him back.
Brown - 6, played ok.
lockyer- 6, played ok.
parkes- 3, off day, not got going this season.
leadbitter- 7, good performance,
Mansell, 6, played ok
Sinclair-6, played ok, but I think he needs a rest, those legs have done a lot of running and he's not getting forward like he did earlier in the season.
Gosling-6, lost the ball in the build up to that second, (obviously still shouldn't have happened), getting there.
Bodin- 6.5, great goal, lovely feet but doesn't work hard enough without the ball.
Easter, 6- almost through a few times. Played ok.
Taylor- 3/7, looked both the most likely and least likely to score. So frustrating. But won a lot of headers.
Subs
Harrison- 5 Montano- 6 Lines- 6
Ref- 6, did ok
Fans- 4, gets flat often. Even when drawing. I love the gasheads, but we need more energy.
Newport- 5, played ok, but we'd of lost against broomsticks today nothing went for us.

Nicholls 1. worse goalkeeping mistake I have ever seen.Needs to be dropped
Leadbitter 6, Had a decent game.
Lockyer 6, Must have wondered what the hell was going on alongside him. Parkes 2, Had a shove in the back for the own goal, otherwise had a shocking game.
Brown 6, Same as Leadbitter.
Gosling 5, Didn't do much wrong, come to think of it, he didn't do much right either. Mansell 6, Got through a lot of work. Sinclair 6, Same as Manse. Bodin 6, Super super strike for the goal, otherwise anonymous.
Easter 3, Didn't do a lot. Taylor 1, Chance after chance went begging once again. This guy is useless beyond belief.

Nicholls - 4 bad error, looked poor today
Leadbitter - 6 Good going forward but not convinced about his defending Lockyer - 6 steady but unspectacular Parkes - 1 water poor simples Brown - 5 good first half non existant second Gosling - 4 very average Mansell - 5 out run by a younger midfield Sinclair - 5.5 consistent but not creative Bodin - 5 apart from a brilliant goal nothing great Easter - 4 Crap today Taylor - 3 misses too many chances
Lines - 5 tried to open things up but strangely out of form Montano - 4 a few flashes of ability but not much Harrison - 4 offered nothing different
Crowd - 3 subdued Ref - 5 average DC - 4 got to sort out a goalscorer not sure he knows the best tactics to play at home

Nicholls 3 Shocker
Leadbitter 7 MOTM Solid performance, needs to run at defenders more though. Lockyer 6 Another solid performance at the back. Parkes 1 Nothing needs to be said. Brown 6 Did what he had to do right, but didn't catch the eye.
Bodin 6 Scored a screamer. Mansell 6 Decent. Sinclair 6 Decent, almost scored a beauty of a solo goal in the 1st half. Gosling 6 Decent.
Taylor 5 Missed a sitter, won a lot in the air. Easter 6 Played well without scoring.
Subs: Lines 5 Montano 4 What's the point in this guy? Harrison 4 Didn't do anything while he was on.
Crowd 4 Very quiet and many left early, but who can blame them with our home form. Ref 6 Newport 6 They weren't outstanding, we handed them 3 goals.

Nicholls 2 Dreadful mistake for the second,no chance with the others.
Leadbitter 8 Superb. Our only real bright spark. Lockyer 6 Solid as usual Parkes 1 Clearly fouled for the first goal, but looked a pub player after that. Brown 5 Good first half, faded after the break.
Bodin 5.5 Fantastic strike, went quite after. Mansell 5.5 Very slow today to react to situations Sinclair 6 Unlucky first half not to score, only for a last ditch tackle. Gosling 5 Good first half, second half got over run.
Taylor 4 wasteful. Easter 5 Played ok but his lack of pace and not anticipating attacking the ball is becoming a worry.
Subs: Lines 6 Tried in vain to make an impact. Montano 4.5 Had one good effort that was blocked. Harrison 4 Tried hard but just could not get in the game.
Crowd 4 Ref 5 Newport 6 Spawn today,Spawn tomorrow. If i was their coach driver i would stop on the way home and buy a lottery ticket.

Nicholls 3 costly error that changed the match.
Leadbitter 6 decent going forward. Lockyer 5 did ok. Parkes 2 looks unfit. Had a stinker. Brown 4 not his best performance.
Bodin 4 worldy goal did little else notable. Mansell 6 reasonable game. Sinclair 5 not penetrating enough apart from 1 first half run. Gosling 4 over hit a lot of passes into strikers.
Taylor 3 cant score under pressure at home. Easter 4 didn't look like scoring.
Subs: Lines 5 good corners Montano 4 Harrison 4
Crowd 4 Ref 6 Newport 5

Nicholls 2 ( 1 point for a good catch from a low cross and one point for turning up! ) Truly shocking Leadbitter 7 M.o.M kept going, some good crosses that were wasted Lockyer 6 an ok game Parkes 3 all at sea he,s a shadow of the player of last season, body language looks all wrong. Brown 6 an ok game Bodin 5 a wonder goal, after that i spent the rest of the game wondering if he was still playing! Mansell 6.5 grafted well Sinclair 5.5 huffed and puffed, never gave up but produced little Gosling 6 some nice touches Taylor 5 wasteful but did hit the post, he'll always miss more than he'll score Easter 5 largely ineffective Subs: Lines 5 didn't improve things Montano 4.5 a bench player Harrison 4.5 didnt improve things but wasnt on long Crowd 5 quiet but thats hardly surprising given the teams performance. At least most stayed to the end! Ref 6 ok Newport 6 ok they didn't look a bottom side and they gleefully accepted the gift-wrapped 3 points given to them. they had little to beat.

Nicholls 3
Leadbitter 7 The only player in the team with any attacking intent and with pace at the back Lockyer 6 Let down by other players, Solid performance as always, won individual battles with there no 10 Parkes 1 Brown 2 Most overrated player, Opposition teams have sussed out he is our weak point.
Mansell 5 Average game, Tried to drive team on with no luck Sinclair 3 Average game But lot's of poor passes to wide players.
Bodin 4 Apart from goal did little else Gosling 2 Like Lines sees plenty of the ball but no end product, Slow the game down and is not a winger
Easter 6 Tried his best to do things and was the only player on the team who wanted the ball needs another player on the same wavelength as him Taylor 1 Walked around looking clueless and again missed easy chances a CF is not going to score goals out on the wing perhaps there is a coaching problem
Subs Montano 4 Lines 3 Harrison 5 Should be starting instead of Taylor
Felt sorry for Leadbetter,Lockyer and Easter today
Darrell Clarke: Doesn't inspire confidence, changes the team around to much and always makes the same rubbish subs each game. Suprised he didn't mention his favourite Taylor in the pre and post game interviews

Nichols 2 -Shocking nervous performance, started with his near fatal slip early on and never recovered, not helped by Parkes. Leadbitter 7 Our best footballer by a country mile, won't be here much longer. Parkes 1 Terrible all round sleepwalking display, his constant back passes continually put our keeper under pressure. Lockyer 6 Steady display not helped by his centreback partners no show display. Brown 5 Steady but not his uaual confident display Gosling 5 Nothing to get excited about, some terrible defensive headers and too lightweight at times. Sinclair 5 Plenty of effort as usual but zero creativity. Mansell 5 Steady but should have buried his headed chance. Bodin 6 Definately our only frontman who can beat his man, great goal, faded as the game went on. Easter 6 Plenty of effort and skill but not helped on iota but his fellow frontman who did not want to get close to him and help. Taylor 1 What more can I say. Plenty of chances yet again spurned, won a few headers, should have scored with one. Did not touch the ball for the first fifteen minutes. Useless, should have been taken off but must definately be the managers favourite.
Lines 2 Did he even come on? Montano 3 As the other night an immediate impact for first five minutes then disappeared. Harrison 2 Did he come on?
Crowd 5 Tried but eventually gave up having been totally let down by DC and his team. Ref 7 Nothing to complain about, competent performance. Newport 7 Far better all over the field, what more can I say

Nicholls 4 dreadful mistake for 2nd goal Leadbitter 6 played like a wingback, didn't do enough defensively Lockyer 5 won very little in the air ,where their main threat was Parkes 2 was pushed off balance for 1st goal ,but very poor Brown 6 did little wrong Bodin 6 brilliant goal , not sure he is in his best position Mansell 5 lack of pace restricts his effectiveness Sinclair 4 went close once otherwise his worst game Gosling 6 played well but a bit lightweight Taylor 3 wasted 3or4 good chances which was no surprise Easter 6 looks good now he is fitter Subs: Lines 6 Montano 5 Harrison 4 Crowd 4 Ref 4 Newport 4 will struggle to stay up

My own opinions from the game:
Nicholls 3.5 I didn't see him make the howler as I'd already started looking downfield but I can't fathom how he lost it as I'd seen him pick it up.
Leadbitter 7 Our best player, solid in defence and a threat on the attack. Put in two lovely crosses that deserved better and ended up taking on the right left side of Newport's team on his own as the rest of the team drifted infield. Lockyer 5 Made a couple of early mistakes but recovered himself both times. Struggled to get to grips with John-Lewis who beat Lockyer in the air to set up the third. Missed a great chance at the other end as well. Parkes 2 No way to soften the fact that he had a really poor game. Own goal and let the ball bounce for third. Brown 6 Even in a heavy defeat, Brown gave a consistent performance.
Bodin 6.5 Started brightly but drifted out of the game after half-time. Mansell 5.5 Seemed to be controlling the game in the first half, but then was swamped in the second. Sinclair 5 A good run in the first half, but his passing really let him down today. His workrate couldn't make up for the fact that he couldn't match the raw athleticism of many of Newport's players. Gosling 5 Some good link-up play in the first half, but disappeared after half-time
Taylor 3.5 Good play in the final third but had two clear cut chances and didn't take them. Easter 5 Probably contributed the same as Taylor, yet didn't have the same chances Taylor did.
Subs: Lines 4.5 Added nothing when he came on. Montano 4.5 Played centrally, when he could have been more effective on the wing. Harrison 5 On too late to make a difference really, but tried to get involved.
Crowd 3 Really flat from start to finish. At least there weren't many boos. Ref 7 Didn't have too many decisions to make. Slightly overzealous on the positioning of free kicks and throw-ins. Newport 6 Certainly didn't seem like a team who were bottom.

Nicholls 3 Very poor mistake. One good claim from a cross but looked suspect a few times.
Leadbitter 7 Looked good going forward and our brightest spark. Lockyer 6 Looked alright again, not helped by his CB partner. Parkes 1 Truly awful. OG, at fault for the 3rd goal too. Shot at the end summed his game up. Brown 5 Didn't offer a great deal and too slow.
Bodin 5 Great goal but not much else. Mansell 5 OK. Sinclair 5 OK. Gosling 5 Didn't create enough.
Taylor 8 Won nearly everything in the air. A shame that he missed 3 half decent opportunities. Gets an extra couple of marks for certain individuals marking him too low with their own agenda. Easter 5 Looked alright. Didn't threaten a great deal.
Subs: Lines 6 Put some good balls in when he came on, class is obvious just frustrating he isn't consistent enough. Montano 5 looked bright when he initially came on but faded a bit. Harrison 5 Won one really good header but little else.
Crowd 6 Fairly decent atmosphere considering the performance, or lack of performance. Ref 5 Frustrating at times but seen worse. Newport 6 Christmas come early for them but were better than their league position. Looked like a mid table outfit.

Having said that you see the chances Taylor missed that Lines had delivered to him? So a bit confused to say the least.

Nicholls 3 Mentioned last game errors were beginning to creep into his game, unfortunately for a keeper there is no second chance, Would not drop him, but what is the goal keeper coach doing to our keepers?
Leadbitter 7 Did ok Lockyer 6 Almost done a Parkes error but got away with it,, otherwise steady Parkes 1 Poor game Brown 5 Steady but can do much better
Bodin 4.5 Brilliant goal otherwise faded as the game went on, Mansell 4.5 Not up to his standard of play Sinclair 5 Not up to his usual standard, probably trying to to do much without creating to much. Gosling 5 Some good through balls to strikers but faded
Taylor 3.5 Had chances Easter 3.5 Some good hold up play but has no pace and it shows at vital moments
Subs: Lines 3 Ineffective, no impact on game Montano 3 Ineffective, no impact on game Harrison 3 Ineffective no impact on game
Crowd 3 But I suppose we could not believe what we were watching Ref 5 Competent Newport 6 Must have thought Christmas had come early, but deserved their win, played better than a team at the bottom of the division

They did bu..er all! No I did not leave early for my 100 mile trip home, stayed till the bitter end thankyou very much. Would suggest you stop acting like a little kid every week about my ratings and your rating of Taylor today confirms it for me, you do act like a little kid.

Perhaps you will enlighten us as to your opinion of his true worth. For the record i also thought he was useless today and can confirm that he did not touch the ball at all until after the score was 1-1. His first bad miss put the nail in the coffin as heads dropped. Taylor was the second worst Rovers player today…..no agenda here just seeing things for what they are.
