Keep the faith d you will find the analysis and reaction to onfield matters is not lightweight as most posters on gaschat actually attend the games. Oh right, So the attendances will be about 300 this season, right? Holier than thou attitude does nobody any good. Deal with the facts, its the only way. Haha keep takng the meds my friend.Nothing to do with taking the moral high ground, the way I see it is all Rovers fans have been taking too many punches to the face over recent seasons and while some can take no more punishment, which i understand perfectly well, the diehards will carry on like an over the hill battle weary Frank Bruno regardless of all the previous assaults on body and mind.Have a good day.

Everyone that uses this forum smell nice and are very good looking, those are my reasons, a few on the other one do not smell good at all and are pug ugly. :0) How the hell did you manage to hack into my Sinclair ZX Spectrum and remotely activate the webcam ? Technology is ruining this country we need to bring back National Service, in fact a service every three months would be nice at my age ! I'm pleased to see this forum prosper and I think the widest possible spread of opinions makes for more interesting and entertaining debate. The one thing which I hate to see happening is polarization where we are led to believe everything is black or white, it's all or nothing, you are either with us or against us. In my experience questioning and criticism helps you to improve performance because you have to think more carefully about what you are doing and that makes you reach better decisions. If you encourage people to have blind faith, treat criticism as a threat and try to stifle debate then IMO you are not doing yourself any favours. The board shut down the OF because they didn't like the prospect of being shaken out of their comfort zone and that was a weak decision because most of us would have preferred them to come out fighting and confront the criticism in a vigorous and positive way. Don't be misled into thinking the "gasheads" forum is negative because it is there that you read the most sustained criticism of the board. All Rovers fans want the club to be one of which we can be proud and where we can enjoy the football experience together with our friends. The majority of posters on "gasheads" who ask searching questions and highlight glaring deficiencies in the way the club is run only do so because they want to challenge the board to do better which is a far more positive attitude to take than simply accepting constant failure.

I've just realised in the last couple of days how much this forum has grown. Since the demise of the OF, I've followed the other one knowing this one started but thinking the other had cornered the market. So seeing as there's a lot of duplication going on here in terms of a lot of the same old characters on both forums (or fora?) and also the same subjects, I'm struggling to see the point. Both seem to be as strong as the other. We don't have the official v alternative situation with all the politics and needing a separate vehicle for the voice of the outlaws. So what is the point in having both? Not being pedantic, genuinely interested to hear views. What are people finding one forum provides that the other doesn't. To avoid duplication, I'm not putting this on gasheads.org Ian, I migrated to the AF when the OF closed I found it was much the same (IMO) as when it was formed. I found some had a less than positive attitude to the ex OF posters so when this one started I found my way here. see you Friday on the terrace

Yes there is repetition. But if I present my views on Gasheads I seem to get pilloried while on Gastalk the atmosphere is far more accommodating. At the first I would have supported amalgamation but I now see the as two forums as quite different entities. Gasheads seem to have a few people that have "a big chip on their shoulder" that are quite damming of anybody that holds a contrary view. Perhaps I am too sensitive.

The I.F is more informative about football politics and Gas chat has more actual football talk. No need to merge variety is important.

Ok cheers all, I wasn't being mischievous, but I was seeing the same topics, the same writers, duplication left right and centre, so on the face of it, the same newspaper ( to steal an analogy above) with a different name. Seems the difference is a bit more subtle. Indeed Stapleton As you witness by the responses

As i have said all along since i joined the other forum when it started, they have a hidden agenda and actively vilify any post which they don't agree with. that's why people come on here and like it, because you are treated with respect

I agree Henbury and long may it continue. I think our Mods need to be vigilant though if they're to ensure others don't spoil this forum.
