Now that the cavalry has arrived (welcome to Bristol you guys) it's time to draw up the wish lists. Here's my first go - not in any particular order : - Standing behind the goal for Gasheads in the new stadium - Our end to be officially called The Tote End - A sign in the players tunnel / dressing rooms with something like "We are the Gas" or "This is Bristol Rovers" - loudspeakers which repeatedly blare out our club songs to drown out opposition fans (like they do at Bradford City) - A strong youth development programme, so we have some Bristol Boys in the team (assuming they make the grade) - Every season our away shirts are quarters, irrespective of the colour scheme - As we climb the leagues, let us thrash Crawley/Dagenham/Burton/Fleetwood/Yeovile/Sheff Weds/Northampton/Wycombe home and away (no need to mention the BS3 rubbish because that's a given). - that we do not, ever, sign N. Warnock, Messi, Ibrahamovic, N. Warnock (again), Joey Barton or Balotelli.
How's that for starters ?

How's that for starters ? Agree totally. Nice if the home end was the Tote but anyone who started following Rovers post-Eastville will have no affiliation to this and that group probably well outnumbers us Tote Enders nowadays so this may not catch on.
As for standing behind the goal, I'm all for this. I took my missus to Brighton for valentine's weekend and we went to Brighton vs Bolton as part of that. Really nice ground and club shop, nice facilities, well laid out, pleasant atmosphere in and around the ground, no trouble whatsoever. The biggest downside was that, although we sat in the home end and there was a total crowd of 28,000 at the game, the noise was deafening by it's silence. I couldn't help thinking that if the home end were standing there would have been a lot more noise.
Also, we were in a hotel on the seafront and it didn't cost us a penny to get to and from the stadium. If you have your match tickets on you (or an email reservation if you are picking them up at the ground) then travel to and from the game is FREE on buses and trains if you wave your ticket at the driver. Could that catch on for Rovers at UWE??

Agree about the Tote End point, but the new owners referred to the history / heritage of BRFC and the fan base as being what they liked. Many of us who still watch the Gas are from the Tote End days, and it would be a fitting recognition. Of course as time rolls on, the name could change. Maybe the 'University End', 'The Abbey Wood End' or even the 'Heinz Baked Beans End ?' !!

Tote End is a must in my opinion.
However, what we can not do is call it the Cow Shed end - as the South of the river did!

Agree with the home end being called the tote, yes younger members may not understand the TOTE ,but the tote is interwoven with the quarters and should be remembered, Gas ,quarters,Dennis dunford and Tote are all interlinked and should never be forgotten. We have too much invested in the tote memories for it to be forgotten

I have few wishes;
A team I still recognise as BRFC A support base that still has its roots in north bristol A squad that plays for the club and the supporters, not for their ego. A home of our own. Owned by us. Outright. An owner and directors that care more about the fans than their profit margin. Success that is sustainable. To retain the pride that so much adversity has left us with as a proud scar.

the first two will never happen. Because....? your not allowed standing terraces in the top flight , why build a new stadium if it doesn't meet basic regulations . if the new owners have ambitions of rovers playing further up the the footballing pyramid why build a league 2 ground. also there's the rarther large matter of planning permission allready having been submitted for a all seater stadium . submitting new plans would set the project back by a good 18 months and give trash the opportunity to throw another spanner in our plans to move away from the area. as for naming one of the ends the tote end, the new owner isnt running a charity that will never happen . sponsorship will bring revenue to the club , its bad business to turn away good money and id rarther see rovers creating its own money rarther than relying on the bottomless pockets of our new owners.

One things for sure, we will not be sponsored by a pub next season and the advertising boards will show multi national company's rather than what we have now. Sponsorship from four seasons etc will be the route around FFP in order to help build a league winning team
