We've got to keep him. He fits us PERFECTLY.
Stay with us and become THE Gas LEGEND... We want exactly what you want. Let's do it together, Mr Clarke!

Handcuff him to the East stand. And then give him the dog.

Unless he gets an offer from a Championship club, which I honestly can see happening this summer, then why would he leave given Wael's like to offer him a decent contract for a league one manager?

Think he's in it for the long haul. Just don't start slagging him off as clueless at the first setback.

For starters the ones amoungst us with short, stubby noses;those who can't see further past it. They need educating that a bad patch of results doesn't mean Darrel is out of his depth and has taken us as far as he can and the sack! Just remember where we were two seasons ago and where we are now.
I can't see any other problems ahead, not even a so called bigger club as Darrel is an astute man going places and realises he has time on his side to progress as he is and with us. If we are comfortable in League one after a season or so maybe he will say' onto bigger challenges' but.....
God forbid we are around 16th in November. Then the idiots will be out in force. Just the thought makes me cringe.

DC can become a greater legend if left to do his thing and paid well to deliver the goods to fans that adore him
Weigh all that up plus living in the most attractive city in the country , why would he go
Surely he wants to preside over a rovers / city Derby
And one team needs to make a move to do that
But let's keep him

Think he's in it for the long haul. Just don't start slagging him off as clueless at the first setback. Or even after getting a crucial point in a high-pressure away match. I don't agree. In hindsight that turned into a great point but if things had been different Saturday 99% of us would have looked at that result as the moment we took it out of our own hands. While I also think DC has earned the right to considerably more slack and patience it would be wrong for us to just sit back and accept everything he or for that matter WAQ does. Do you think DC would accept 2nd best and blind loyal faith? I don't. I would hope he is a manager that accepts pressure and thrives of it and who won't ever accept any poor result and wouldn't want us to accept it either.

He won't be going anywhere. Except to the Premiership with us.

Sure, but at the same time, the more success he has, and the better his team does, the easier it is to criticise the things that might not work perfectly. And so, while you say he should be given more slack, conversely, he is given less. Three games not won in the last 14 of the season, and he gets slaughtered for one selection decision (as if it were nailed on that had Leads been selected we would have won the match). You say he has earned the right to some slack, but how much did he get, absolutely none, from a lot of people. It's a piece of water to identify one broken thing in a well-oiled machine where everything else is going right. The difficult bit is getting a pile of junk to work.

Let DC carry on with the Gas. I'm quite sure he will get a good contract for the next couple of seasons. That is until England come calling, as I believe he's a candidate as a future England manager.

As ever a balance should be found where some questions are legitimate and need to be raised where necessary no? I agree there was an an overreaction here post Stevenage from some but even balanced posters were vilified for questioning what most of us thought was an odd team selection. Personally I felt DC got it wrong at Stevenage. That doesn't mean I don't rate him or that I know better than him and as it turned out a point was enough in the end. That doesn't make me a basher or a w**ker as one idiot posted on here on Saturday afternoon either. Of course it's super easy to sit here and pick up on the one mistake out of 999 other correct decisions made but isn't that what all fans do to some degree or other?

Yes I found this interesting too. Whilst Charlton are obviously a much bigger club than Northampton I am not sure if it would be wise to go there with the current owners who every fan is against. Could turn into another Blackpool
