first signs of madness that is , having a word with yourself . First sign of madness is believing players like clarke, gosling and sinclair are league one standard. Also putting words in other people's mouths is a tad bit odd but to be fair you sound like one crazy Mutha fucka !!!!!

I wouldn't waste your time on this fella , you clearly have a grasp on football and Chippenhamgas ain't got a scooby ! Anyone who thinks they've got a grasp on football and also thinks that more than half our squad are good enough for league one football needs to have a word with themselves. Although only one match, the defence did well today and LB and DL both played well as did our 3 CHs. It seems strange having lost 1-3 but there you go. The defence will be fine. Of course its only my opinion!

Have to agree with chipper above here. Not ure about Ollie Clarke I think he has something about him. But Sinclair and Gosling I agree with.

The squad as a whole is not of sufficient quality to last a season in this division.

False alarm ! Close though , I'm usually down the front to the right of the goal with my kids. I will give you credit , as much as I totally disagree with most of the things you say it would appear you stick your guns ( or a massive water taker )

I've said it before and i'll say it again, there is absolutely NO evidence of wael intending to spend any money. Yep, bit odd isnt it. I completely accept evolution not revolution but to evolve you need to buy some better players?? Well we are no longer crippled by debt, we managed to keep hold of our very successful manager who was approached by at least one championship club, we re- signed all of our best players , I could go on but hey if anyone thinks there's no evidence of Wael spending any money then they can keep therir heads in the sand. I don't know how long you've been supporting our club but we haven't got a good track record when it comes to keeping hold of our best managers and players. Money talks and its talked this summer.

Of course its only my opinion! I think that a player who can play left back or left half back would be a good addition to the squad in the future but that apart I agree that the defence is good enough for this division....the midfield isn't and I don't think either Gaffney or Harrison are either.
The first half was ok but by the end Scunthorpe won because their passing was better and they didn't lose posesion as much as Rovers and because they were prepared to shoot from distance, I think Rovers need a David Williams type midfield player.
Corners, I hope that either Hartley is going to make a difference or that short corners will be taken as Rovers just don't seem to make the most of corners.
All in all it was a dull day out , modern type ground with little atmosphere, rubbish pubs with tasteless beer and cider and the result was a bit flattering to them, but I think that Rovers will get enough points at home to survive,so no need to panic but I think as I have done since promotion that a few key signings need to be made, 2 or 3 and that's in line with DCs comments.

You say Sincs isn't good enough for Div 1 but have never seen him play at this level but somebody who watched him today said "he grew into the match", with the match being lost when he was subbed off and we lost midfield as DC went 4-4-2 going for the win. Gosling's only ever going to be a squad player which we'll need this season now emergency loans have been scrapped. As far as Wael not spending money, who do you think is going to secure the finance on the UWE if we ever finally agree a deal with them? Plus who made DC our best paid manager ever and convinced him to sign a new long term contract? Think you need to start getting some balance to your thinking/posting or your going to just start getting ridiculed on here, like a certain other poster.

Still haven't got over yesterday's result. The fact of the matter is, is that lge 2 is for pussies (it's an easy league) , the championship is for players who can play (so why are the sh1t there.?), but lge one is the league of speed, blood, guts and no prisoners. That's what scunny demonstrated yesterday. We certainly need BB in the team as he doesn't take prisoners - eg he sees the goal and shoots. Lines, please take note. UTG.

I don't know what's worse? Reading some of this doom after a defeat with 45 games to go, or imagine the complete nonsense had we won!

I will add james clarke, McChrystal, easter and probably gaffney to the list, and chuck in lawrence as well. We have used up a big chunk of our budget on players who were never gonna be good enough for this league therefore constraining us in the market when the inevitable realisation occurs that we need more quality, ie now! As far as wael spending money goes well have made some modest ground improvements (that farcically in typical brfc style can't be currently used!). This has probably been financed out of the increased season ticket revenue over the summer. I will change my opinion about wael spending money when a) we pay a fee for a player and b) he announces that funding is in place for the stadium.

We love our club (players, manager and new owner) and have come a long way in a very short space of time, but I don't no why people get so touchy when people call for player improvements. We need to strengthen a few key areas (who are key areas for every team, so not easy to do) so they usually require fees, thats all. Good luck DC for remaining window - utter faith in you!

If we are debating who is good enough for league 1, what does that actually mean? Since it is a squad game with tactics and formations etc which operates on a point system...
If we finish towards the bottom of the league, does that make the squad not good enough yet too good if we finish towards the top? Is the team that finishes dead middle the only real squad "good enough"?
Wrt what is good enough, that must relate to people's expectations of our finishing position. I haven't watched much preseason, didn't go yesterday, but knowing the squad and our ethos, would like to think we can hold our own in this division.
That makes us good enough for me based on my expectations this season.

The squad as a whole is not of sufficient quality to last a season in this division. DC has often said he likes players that want to learn that will put the effort in on the pitch and keep going. That he and his coaches will improve players. Which is true a team that at one point was 17th in the conference became one that finished 3rd in league two. He also says that about 80% of the players that come to the club work out well.H E obviously has faith in the majority of the players being able to learn how to play league one football and at halftime yesterday I'm betting most people were thinking rovers were doing pretty well considering its an away game at one of last season's form teams at a higher level.

That sounds like rational, reasoned, calm thinking. We don't want that on this forum. Far better to go with outrageous panicking. Seriously - how you can draw conclusions from the first match, away,to a promotion contender, on a hot energy sapping afternoon beats me. Still, I suppose I'm just a happy clapper.
