This is a genuine question as so far I am not convinced by any of the players signed in recent times. Hartley was replaced by McCrystal in our only win, Moore has only appeared on the bench once then disappears again and James to me is certainly not looking like setting the world alight. Then we had McBurnie last season who played only minutes and Liam Lawrence not much more. People are saying in DC we trust which is fair enough in terms of the success obtained but I haven't seen much in the last couple of years to completely trust him on transfers. More action less wind.

Stevek, why don't you just admit that you do not like Darrel Clarke, or that you don't understand his way of working?

Mildenhall,Brown,Lockyer,Mchrystal,O Clarke,Harrison all not DC signings, but he is gradually building his own squad. Surely football squads have to build stronger every year or they stagnate ? I think that keeping the better players and replacing the weaker ones is the way forward. When DC talks about wanting to add 3 or 4 'quality players' to last seasons squad I agree and I hope that he is given the funds to do it.

Give em a chance Steve. We've had 3 league games and 1 cup game so far. One of the lads has made three starts, one has been off the bench once and one has not really been fit. I would not have bet on James Clarke being better than Trotman (the defender he effectively replaced) after four games but by a quarter of the season mark he'd proved to be the real deal. By the same token I thought Monkhouse was a major loss and Bodin would just be warming the bench, how wrong was I? And how glad about that am I? We also lost one Colombian and replaced him with another and the contribution of Montano to last season was more than Balantas was to the season before.
If Hartley does a J Clarke, James does a Bodin and Moore does a Montano we will be well satisfied and all three of them have started their campaigns in similar vein to the players I've compared them to. I'm sure they have been told to steer well clear of our bipolar forums so they won't be reading the doubting Thomas comments before they've even really made a changing room peg their own but what these guys really need now is support to help them bed in.

DC has signed some great player that have served us very well I don't think Steve is questioning that, I see what he is saying and I too hope the next 4 signings are better than the last 4

I quite like the look of Moore in preseason so it's odd he's not been given a chance now, I assume, he's fit.
As far as James I assumed he was back up for Taylor but DC seems to be playing him out wide.
As far as the OP he's surely just showing his true colours, which is odd given his support for Paul Buckle in the past.

Sorry but this is a daft post op , we've only just started a new season , surely this sort of post would be something towards the end of the season not 3 league games in

As far as I'm concerned all the players signed in the last two seasons were useful at the time and did a job for Rovers. Blissett scored some important goals in the conference as did Gaffney last season. Trotman brought an influence to the dressing room after an awful start.
I tell a lie, there is one player who was a bad mistake on DCs part and that was Lee Nichols. But he put that right and admitted it, how many managers would have done that.

C'mon Steve, you post very good match reports with lots of points that I (and lots of others on here) agree with after watching games, but this is a ridiculous post! Are you drunk (the thread title suggests that you might be)? :-D

Keep throwing darts and you might hit the board with your constant criticism of DC.
I respect you as a poster Steve but posts like this just make you look a bit daft and lose you a lot of respect on the forum.
Do you think you could do better than DC?

Do not come on here and criticise our manager. You clueless clown. In Darrell WE trust. The man is a miracle worker.

Every season he signs 2-4 players and a few on loan and we improve on last season. I think we've done that again this season so I'm happy. Footballs a team game and DC knows how to build one.

Our manager has completely turned our club around in two years and he's done it without spending much money. Nobody knows how this season is going to go but I trust him to continue the good work that he's done so far. UTG

How can you criticise the summer signings when one of them has played a couple of games and looked decent in one and not so good in the other, one has played a few minutes, during which he played a part in our goal, and the other hasn't played yet due to injury?
Utterly bizarre thread. I expect all three to do well and grow into being big fixtures of the squad, just like Bodin, James Clarke and MontaƱo, who were all brought in last summer and none of whom were regular starters at the start of the season.
