If we were to get promoted again I think it might genuinely be groundbreaking and unique. Can anyone name a team that went from the conference to the championship in 3 seasons?
I don't expect it to happen, but that's not to say that it can't if we get some momentum building.

I think the talk of 'consolidation' in any division would see DC leave the club. He is not interested in consolidating anywhere. He wants to continue to improve both the team and himself. Can you imagine him staying if he is told to consolidate in mid-table for a couple of years?
There is a big difference at how fans may look at it in comparison to a manager.
The manager is paid to win matches, DC knows that and has said it enough in interviews....that's it.
Some of us fans may look at the bigger picture, of course we want to see our team as high as possible but there could be damaging consequences to entering a level you are not setup for, just ask Yeovil fans.
I remember the 2 seasons in the higher following the 1990 promotion, it was nothing like how it is now and we still came back down never to darken their door again.
2 promotions has put us back at our natural level, if DC gets us another promotion that's amazing but he would have to be backed heavily just to stay there.

Perhaps Wael could move an office for one of his businesses to the Mem and count the profit as club profit or something ? I've heard about that happening at smaller clubs run by rich owners but don't know how true it is or if it's allowed.

If you are talking about the FFP I have heard there are a few ways around it but not sure what they are. Your last sentence is very familiar though, not sure if there is any way to not allow it?

How about some unheard of company buying the Mem for 50m? Wait two years, then they sell it for the 10-12m that it is worth for housing. Obscure company writes off the loss, Rovers win !

Bit too early to talk of a third successive promotion. Whilst it feels like anything is possible under DC and the boys, this could all come back to look very silly on us.

For what its worth I don't think we will get promotion, certainly not if we keep leaking goals, but I don't see anyone to fear in this league either.

Yeah, I mean it's not like a defeat tomorrow night would revert the chat back to consolidation is it? We might see words like 'outclassed' and suchlike.

Please stop this talk! Promotion would be the worst thing to happen to us now. Consolidate in this league and then go for it over the next 2/3 years. Promotion this year would kill the club and good atmosphere we have at the moment. The dressing room will think we can gain promotion. The manager will expect us to be in top 7 come end of the season. It certainly would be ground-breaking if we were promoted again. Well hopefully Rich we can be top six.I would be gutted to just miss out.

Have been told that Aldi are looking for some inner city sites to develop.... you heard it here first ! But would Aldi be happy to fight Trash for pp as they sure aren't going to want to use the Sainsbury's super store plans for one their stores. Unless Trash have already suggested they wouldn't oppose a smaller store at the Mem? As far as running a business from the UWE this how Fleetwood apparently get around the FFP, problem is what is Wael's business now as it seems to be just BRFC, even if he is still helping to run the Jordanian Bank I can't really see that wanting to move it's English HQ to the UWE, plus there's the added complication that it isn't solely owned by the Al-Qadi's. The only other way is if Wael intends using the "two strips of land" at the UWE for an hotel/office complex but there's no signs of any plans being submitted to S Glos for those developments at the moment. Although perhaps the feasability study is looking at financing the UWE plus a Champuionship/Premiership club to play in it - we can always dream!

Before the Swindon game and when we were 1-0 down there, there was talk of relegation. Win 2 on the bounce, now we're nailed of for promotion.

I usually any film/series with 'star' in it, but having 2 kids that go to school in Henbury you are dead right about the dinner ladies!!
And even if they were as fit, what comes out of their mouths (don't go there...!) will most likely ruin it.
