After City - Swindon and Cardiff are our big derbys.Newport should also be given that they are only 20 miles across the channel and we have history with the old Newport.Anyone that doesnt see this is talking rubbish. But our main and most important derby is of course with Bristol City. None of those teams - Cardiff, Newport, Swindon etc. - have ever or will ever recreate the feeling of a Bristol derby. 'Local games' with a bit more significance yes, but I dispute the idea that anything other than City is a derby. City fans know deep down this is the case too.

I look out for City's result whenever they play, hope they've lost and am happy if they have. I don't look out for Swindon's, Cardiff's, Newport's etc and am not at all bothered how they get on each weekend - other than when they're playing us or City.

Completely agree with you,but when people say the above games are not "Derby" games there are wrong. Both Swindon,Cardiff and like I said the Newport (of old) are/were/will be highly charged games due to our geographic locations and rich history of playing each other over the years. We maybe not each others big derby, but they are proper derbys with a real edge to them. When we play -Cheltenham, Exeter, plymouth, FGR and to a lesser degree yeovil (only due to media coverage) they are just west country derbys/local games with no real spice to them.
