True enough, but I stand by the point I made. It went unanswered on that thread too. Hugo, If a question was aimed at me and I have missed it, or not understood, reiterate it and will be happy to respond. Do you know the reason NH banned KS? Would you be kind enough to post it here? |

I understand that KS met up with Ollie and CJ recently over the bridge. Not that I would dare suggest the leak may be close behind.

The "truth" is that no matter which stance NH takes he will be crucified. The bloke is trying his best to deliver us a stadium but is in a very difficult position given that there seems to be a mole who lets things out of the bag who in all honesty shouldn't. I well remember situations in work where I had confidential info and it was always kept by me as such but somebody would let the info out and those above would think it was me. Not a nice position to be in. What adds to NH problem is he is not a good public speaker which makes it even more difficult. Perhaps BSS should be the Boards representative on this- he may as well be as he too gets criticised for every move or lack of it!! Steve, in my opinion which may be wrong Higgs was criticised for making statements which at worse were untrue and at best stretched the truth beyond what was reasonable. He is a very unpopular chairman and as such yes is in for a hard ride. Brian is given a hard time as he is the only board member who seems to interact with fans. Thats completely unfair. Personally i think he is a nice guy (as he should be with his pr / politics background). My only gripe is that i believe he should have been more openly critical of the lack of published review and failings of the club at board level. If he is able to be critical about bar prices he can be critical about that. He also as fans rep should not have voted to ban a fan for being critical of the club. |

KS's "lies" are "probably" that he well knows the reason why he was banned and "possibly" deserves it but ONLY he will know whether what I have just said is right or wrong!! The only certainty is that few if any of the other writers on here who know him or maybe don't know him; know what the "truth" is as they would only have heard one side of the story from KS himself.
I would add that my opinion,for what it is worth, is that NOBODY deserves a life ban from something unless they are a murderer (and even they get another chance in most Societies!) and particularly something as small in the national context as supporting Bristol Rovers.
Perhaps there should be a sensible compromised ban ie banned from the West side of the ground but after the time that has passed I feel that too would be harsh.

I appreciate what you say but of course Brian is in a very difficult position for the very reason that he is. like Ken, the fans representative BUT is also a member of the Board. IMO a fans representative should be almost like a Union Leader and NEVER be part of the constitution. That way he represents our view and reports back in the way he sees fit. Instead he has loyalties to both sides in that he is actually part of the Board and as such has restraints put on him.

I think Brian represents the board rather then the fans and thats my issue. I know its easy to say as a fan but he needs to ensure the board deliver on promises made to the fans or at least speak out when they don't.
Then again perhaps the huge divide we often see is how differently we as individuals view the role of supporter. For some its to get behind the club whatever happens and for others to challenge militantly when we feel the clubs being let down.

Newmarketgas, if you feel KS is telling porkies why not discuss it ? Im not aware that he is so good to get these things out in the open. I said it on another thread. Higgs and KS are both playing a game imo. For people to ask BSS why he was banned then to say he already knows is exactly one of reasons some are less supportive of KS than they might be. It's childish. If KS knows the reason then tell us all and let us be the judge of its validity. He may well win over the doubters. He doesn't know the bloody reason. He was told by Micky Piggs that he would get evidence in April and would meet up again. There has been no contact between the two other than text messages when Piggs told lies on Twentyman's show. Please get it right if you don't know. You can always ask Kevin, he is very approachable, unlike Piggs, he is not game playing. I hope you never get accused of something that you cannot defend. It's bloody horrible and there is no evidence of note. It gives Piggs carte Blanche to ban anyone. How would you feel if your son was banned ? Kevin has good friends at Rovers and we stand up for our mates. Is it that hard to understand ? |

All they need to say is what those 'persistent unfounded critisisms' were. It doesn't take a genius to work out why they won't. I don't think it's the 'persistent' or 'critisisms' that are the issue here. It's whether they were 'unfounded', and I suspect that they were very much founded, as everything that has happened since would suggest. Higgs is a blustering bull****ing bully who can't handle being told the truth about what a total disaster he has been.

BSS is a great guy in a truly preposterous position and, of all the people who gets stick, I feel his is the most unnecessary and nasty. I wish Rod, or whoever, would do the job for a Month before they tried to get it. They would do no better as they will have the same ridiculous constraints that Brian gets. He is in an impossible position and I don't envy him at all. The board ruin his reputation by the rules he has to stick to. |
