The law as I understand it allows a officer (or anyone else) to act in self defence if they feel they are in danger. That response must be necessary and proportionate to the danger faced and must cease as soon as the danger has passed. If the threat level decreases, so must the level of the response. self defence fair enough, but throwing punches uncontrollably is a bit too far... My point really Tbh. |
