Surprisingly quiet on here about this. A lot of us said he needed help, and he now appears to have it, although the arrangement seems a bit informal. Perhaps that's because Coppell dislikes contracts. But he has a good, if infrequent, record as a manager, apart from the times he walks out of a job. Just the sort of old hand BG needs, though. I really think things will finally start to improve now. I wonder how much he's being paid? He can't be helping out for the love of Bristol Rovers. Joe Dunne initially joined on a voluntary basis so it can happen at BRFC (unless it was a GC man crush š³)

I wouldnt deny.him to luxury of laying the first brick in the unlikelihood that it ever happens Bricks? By the time this happens bricks will be a thing of the past, he will be laying an exctoplasmic shield compound. Surely you mean an ectoplasmic membrane, i.e. a tent.

Maybe, just maybe, they raised their heads above the parapet because they thought there was going to be some positive news they could use to quell the unrest but it hasnāt materialised in time. (Just a theoretical scenario not based on any evidence).

To be honest, I'm not overly enamoured with the tactical over-analysis of football generally by laymen. The idea that any tactics bar a 4-4-2 are over egging the pudding is fantastic though. Exceptional lack of any form of common sense regarding the issue. I donāt see whatās wrong with the 5-3-2 formation (thatās 5 up front) as the preferred setup in the 1974 Subbuteo rule book. The gameās seriously gone down hill since then with these fancy continental tactics. š

According to the mods, there have been three million posts on this forum by a select 12 members moaning about anything and everything during the same period. And, the needle is stuck. This inspired me to actually check, and we have actually hadĀ 588,510 posts. f**k me. (To be fair, I'm responsible for a decent percentage of that.) How many stars do you get for 500k posts and do you achieve minor deity status?

But football is a funny old game, isnāt it, where players in a poorly performing side can sometimes raise their game against better opposition. When nobody expects them to win the pressure is off compared to so called should win games. Logically Tranmere had no chance against Watford but thatās what makes watching football such an addiction because anything can happen.

According to a new Beeb article watching a match can be a serious health risk, so if you donāt have a sense of humour or are prepared to hug then make sure you know where the nearest defibrillator is. ... but were we in a promotion push or just unexpectedly in a lofty position (from the boardās perspective)? You could argue that it was the perfect time to try something new from a risk management point of view because of a decent points cushion.

Just caught up with this entry on the BBC Live Text:
Posted at 43' Attempt missed. Jonson Clarke-Harris (Bristol Rovers) right footed shot from outside the box misses to the left. Assisted by Jordi van Stappershoef.
Is this what BG means about playing out from the back?
