If only we could get DC back!
Feels like we've had a trial separation and after a few one night stands have come to the realisation that the grass isn't greener and all that.
We belong together, he's gas through and through and simply gets us.
Reckon he'd get our bunch of young and inexperienced players grinding out some results.

No striker on the bench which concerns me but once Ayunga is back we look good to go. Must be the strongest bench we’ve had for years? Agreed, we've got some great options there on the bench in attack, Oztumer, JML and Nicholson all being available to bring on when needed.

Very pleased BG has selected the same XI, would have been a kick in the teeth to leave anyone out from Lincoln away.

Amazing how those place seems to flip flop from week to week.
Last week we gave a battling performance and the team and BG we're generally widely applauded for getting it right and coming away with a well deserved point.
Yesterday before the game most would have taken the same again and if not for an unfortunate error giving an OG away it seemed as if we were very close to doing that.
I'll bet that if we held on for a point yesterday this forum would be a very different place than it is right now. Instead the knives are out again as the OP puts very well.
It's all if's and but's isn't it but it's fine lines that decided the result yesterday. Don't get me wrong I was screaming at the TV with frustration in the the last 30 mins as I watched us make silly errors and poor decisions which meant we kept needlessly giving possession away and handing the advantage back to Ipswich.
I was also yelling at BG to make the changes and when 1-0 down with 12 mins to go for the life of me I've no idea why he didn't just roll the dice, leave JML on, throw on both Daly & Hare and tell the team to just bloody well go for it, as there really was nothing more to lose at that point!
That said, I have to keep reminding myself that we do have a young squad and whether we like it or not a rookie manager that will make and hopefully learn from their mistakes.
It's clear that both Sunderland and Ipswich have far superior teams to us and expecting us to have put them to the sword in these first 2 fixtures is really living in cloud cuckoo land. Yes, I know we beat them both last season but this season's not done yet and we still have an opportunity to get some points when we play them again later in the season.
In my view this squad has a lot of potential, is BG the man to get them to them realise it? I don't know but patience is needed as imo BG ain't goin nowhere anytime soon so we may as well just suck it up and keep lending our support to both the manager and the team.

One of the most important aspects of what happened yesterday for me seeing that BG recognised that we needed to adapt to the opposition if we were to get anything out of the game.
From what we saw in pre season I was beginning to worry that he was a one dimensional manager and that he believed 'Garnerball' was the only way for every game.
The fact that he got the team selection and tactics right (i.e. none of this tippy tappy football and playing it out from the back) is a big positive as far as I'm concerned and he deserves credit for that imo.
I know it's early days but I agree with what Stevek says above, it's almost a completely new team and it's a new season so we should put what's gone behind us and judge him on our results starting from yesterday.
In terms of how long we give BG, tbh it's really not down to us but Wael and I think he will be given quite a bit a time to see if he can create something special with this group of players.

Expectations for getting anything out of the game extremely low, just looking for the boys to give account of themselves and not concede too many.
We're clearly the underdogs in this one which is actually a good thing for BG.

Thought we were getting quartered shorts for a minute there, wonder what that would have looked like!
Kit looks very crisp indeed. I wasn't sure about the away kit on the designs we saw but in reality I actually like it and it's the one I voted for.

What?....How?....Who?....OMFG!
Something big is afoot here. First the training ground, now this, I'm scared to even think what might happen next.
Thank you so much Wael, this is incredible news and puts the club on a fantastic footing for the future! Really pleased the Goringe is fully on board for the ride.
I sincerely hope that these recent positive developments will lift the spirits of all gas heads and bring new positivity to the terraces.
For a long time now is felt like we were on a downward spiral, hopefully this will turn the tide so we can all stay looking up.

Precisely why don't posters do a bit of investigation work before posting? DD UK only seemed to have an interest in a couple of disused barns at The Colony. I assume Hani no has more important things to worry about at home. Suggest you do some investigation work to find out why you're so condescending!

Good report but regarding the ref, what an attention seeking wan*er! No way does he deserve a 4 imo.
The only reason we had a total of 11 mins of added time was because of the time he wasted during the game stomping around the pitch gesticulating his arms around and telling everyone off like naughty school boys.
Absolutely ridiculous performance, we've seen some bad ones at the mem but he was definately one of the worst ever. I'm only glad he didn't manage to ruin the result for us despite the fact that he appeared to be trying very hard to do so.

“Bristol Rovers manager Ben Garner has been fined £500 by the Football Association for comments he made in the media about a match referee. Garner's remarks about referee Ben Toner after Rovers' League One defeat by Sunderland on 22 February were deemed to constitute improper conduct. Garner, 39, admitted they questioned the integrity of the match officials and/or brought the game into disrepute. Midfielder Abu Ogogo was sent off in the 3-0 defeat at the Stadium of Light.” Bad boy Ben can wear that as a badge of honour as far as I'm concerned!

Garner won't be sacked if we lose today as we are still not in jeopardy so you may as well forget that thought.
Maybe JCH missing it will be a blessing in disguise as it forces Garner to actually change something.
After last week my hopes for getting something from this game are not very high but I'm holding onto the fact that the players may put a real shift in to make up for the dismal performance against the shrews.
1-1

Whilst I agree that the 11 players on the pitch were totally useless today the manager must be at fault for sticking with a team that have not been performing or delivering since he arrived and secondly not changing it at half time when it was so bloody obvious to everyone who had witnessed the first half that the game plan and team selection was wrong. I don't get it, I really don't. BG says he wants us to play possession football and then he sends the team out to play coughlin ball and not very good coughlin ball at that. I like to think I have been patient with his project to date and was prepared to give him until there end of the season but today I've realised that he really must be clueless and is totally out of his depth in L1. I can cope with losing but only if we make an effort to win and I can see the team playing for the shirts, today was an insult to the fans who turned up in bitterly cold conditions and payed hard earned money to support their team. Garner out! Errr this is a one word thread. Sorry, my one word was "out" but then I started writing and went on a rant, I just couldn't help myself!
