I do wonder which one of us has made the most contributions in the season here?
The golden flip flop goes to ....?

How do we know that Martin wasn’t provoked? I doubt he headbut him for no reason. True. And I agree.... but it doesn't look much like self defence...!! 🤭

It's true. Who was there and laughed and joined in with akinfenwa his t*ts are offside...? Sounds like a resounding abuse to me. No one batted an eyelid. No protection in form of fat shaming then. Or now. Your sentiment is a good one. Your example is poor. I have always been challenged by my weight. If someone sang "Your t*ts are offside" to me, I would find that funny. If however, they sang "Who ate all the pies..." then that would water me off. In fact when fans sing that around me, I feel uncomfortably. When Steve Evans was called a weeble, I felt uncomfortable. When we sang "I want to be ginger haired too" I thought that was hilarious. However there is an argument for inherent misogyny in that song which makes it a bit 'awkward'. The treatment of Snakey Taylor at Cheltenham was out of order when lets have a party was sung. However hilarious when "Taylor is a wan...." was sung for 5 to 10 mins continuously. Especially the "oooohhh" between the repeats. Thanks, g but respectfully disagree... because the thrust of what I'm inferring from your post is: It's ok as it's under a comedic banner. Unfortunately cancel culture negates this. This world generally views abuse abuse, no matter what sentiment behind it.

If it was abhorrent for Barton to be violent, I'm guessing it's the same for CM?

Been looking at the CM incident. Its a clear case of assault. We dont know the circumstances - there must have been serious provocation. However, if the police get involved we could be looking at more that a 4 game ban. CM was there yesterday with his family, laughing and jokin g with supporters. Maybe he should have stayed away in shame. That's a good post. And raises further points. Is it ok to continue to use a violent employee? Some advocated it 'no' for our previous manager....

To be fair to o2 , I would have thought that the opposite was true. "Any form of abuse is wrong." Nobody is disputing that, I think. So why raise other examples in this particular incident? Lets be honest, O2 appears to be claiming that some claim greater protection than others It's true. Who was there and laughed and joined in with akinfenwa his t*ts are offside...? Sounds like a resounding abuse to me. No one batted an eyelid. No protection in form of fat shaming then. Or now.

Is it any more or less bigoted to abuse someone for being larger than average, taller than average, or shorter, perhaps having an extremely short haircut or extremely long hairstyle? Or, for being ginger haired? Or even living in a caravan!? Any form of abuse is wrong, but with some factions of society it feels like they have more protection than others. But, it's still abuse. So let's take it,one form of abuse at a time. There is no need at to categorise it, as one worse than the other. Which you seem to be advocating Unfortunately we can't, or at least that's very difficult to do. In safeguarding, some forms of abuse are more protected than others.

Just got back..
Wow what a day out. With special guests, the league of nations..
I think some were genuinely amazed at how many turned out for a match that didn't mean anything, and how good natured the crowds were!? Albeit a bit quiet from the south stand. Hilarious times new friends and old, it never surprises me what the bounty of the Road throws up (soometimes literally!) and you never know who'll you bump into...
Anyhoos onto something less important: Throw a chicken in the air....? What was that all about!?? I didn't see any deck chairs up a nose...
Poor CT and JH...I guess they get an early premature deck chair (not up a nose!?) for beach football and hope their rehab starts asap to be fit for the new season, but I'm starting to worry about our pre season prep is already tainted.
Well done LT and SS yesterday, a flurry of opportunities but in all honesty, the day fell to Posh because it's their party and as much huff and puff we produced, we just couldn't blow their house down.
I'm coming out and saying it after considering time and watching from different angles: Jervani Brown has underperformed all season to the point I consider his inclusion a hindrance, rather a good acquisition. I'm sorry to say. Yes one or two nice moments, but no way near enough and the poorest signing for a while.
Well done all loanees, they put a shift in, even Cox whom I think is a working progress. He'll take something from our club I'm sure..
Gerry knows where we would be if we didn't have CM, which we don't for a few matches, but everyone at the club should owe a debt of gratitude for his goals and up front lone play that has almost single handedly saved us from relegation threats or worries....so a priority is to find a competent understudy.... because JB is certainly not that and I can't see ever will be.
With penultimate match damp squib thoughts, I see this as a wasted season. I get that we're in transition, which is never going to be pretty, but the timing of this is so poor. We are competing in probably one of the weakest divisions in years and have missed that opportunity to compete for promotion..... next year we have some big clubs and spenders replacing the likes of Pompey etc which won't make our campaign easier.
I refer back to one of my posts in 2019: The appointment of BG will put us back 5 years...... unless we're 2nd or above in December, I fear I was optimistic with the 5 years!
The future is clouded and it's going to be a challenge to get to where we were under the Midas GC, but isn't that what being a GasHead is all about?
The humour, sometimes self depreciation and optimism, and full of hope rather than expectation is also what being a GasHead is all about too...??... and that culture was what was exposed to the league of nations, and I hope they took that bit home with them with a smile and perhaps return in better climes ... Almost ciao.

Ward 6.5 done most things right. Hoole 6.5 nice forward movement. Taylor 6 still not to his best Baggott 7 best of defence. Vale 7.5 excellent! Thomas 8 m o m dazzling! Rossiter 6.5 ok but still needs more time. Evans 7.5 decent lay off to LT for the ball but his dead ball deliveries leave a lot to be desired. Aguilera 5 inaffective. Sinclair 6 looked ok rightfully subbed. Martin 7 all he does is score goals....and miss them!
Cox Connolly 5 strange sub. Gordon Brown 4 done his usual nothing apart from regulation shot and regulation save. Conteh 7 better than his replacement. McCormick Vaughan 5 looks like a child out there but he ran around the playground a bit
Ref 6.5 got some things wrong but majority right. Soft pen. Cambridge 5.5 steady 3rd division team looked pacey and well organised.
Yea ok a good win MT, we again failed to score when on top and only the woodwork and clearance off the line stopped it being a credible draw for both sides.

Just got back..
Lovely eve on the malecon glos road where the drinks in the restaurant is cheaper than the pub!? At least you can pay cash though.... and have a choice.
Anyhoos, onto something far less important..
As 0-0s were going, this one was heading in a decent direction until m o m LT decided to do something special again, like make another run. His precision passing and breaking runs is a gem... he's also laid on more balls than my ex. Definitely worthy of accolades here.
And, Bags until substitution... don't know why? I thought he was our best defender.
Scotty again looking dangerous.
Yep we played some pretty stiff until the penalty area...but we're getting around this and dominating some teams in final third.
Really liked Luca tonight and Vale. Even Evans passed one decent ball...
I think we possessed better technical abilities than Cambridge who were well organised, physical and fast....they looked dangerous from set pieces and counter....yep they're a good strong architect 3rd division outfit.
Nice for CM to continue to score. The pen award was soft, and a joke shot really, we're obviously in this zone where can't define a penalty taker atm. Good job we're not off to Euros I guess.
A good win, I suppose, MT .... Now we move on to Peterborough and jch love in. What could possibly go wrong...?

Get your sun tan lotion out as we're on Severn Beach so you know what sort of match to expect!
Anyone who wants it more will get it.
So, if we stuff Cambridge I'm sure Gary Monk will give them a mouthful.... imagine that? A mouthful of Gary Monk... 🤔
Anyways I digress.... £5.10 is too much for lager in this establishment, I guess we'll have to try another.....oh and the match?
Yea...a bore 0-0 probably. Only 2 to go after this....🥱
Enjoy the eve everyone....*hic*

From Ifollow..
Cox 7 it's right for him to be brought back. Hunt 7 offered outlet on right moving forward. Wilson 6 looked shaky. Baggott 8 commanding performance, almost m o m but hit the post. Vale 7.5 very good assist and all round play. Thomas 7.5 dangerous to them. Ward 5 hope he's ok but injured again. Evans 5 cr@p dead ball deliveries and shots. Rossiter 8 nice to see him back and look like he enjoyed his first start back. Sinclair 8 m o m record breaking goal, almost scored again and wound back the years to make himself undroppable with menacing their defence. Martin 7.5 working progress and put in a shift on his own.
Aguilera 7.5 took his goal well, again in front of the adoring GasHeads. Conteh 5 didn't do much.
Ref 6.5 ok.
Cheltenham 4 poor. Relegation written all over them. Any team with that winker in it deserves relegation so DC can't have his snake and eat it!

Just got back.. From stop start iFollow.
It looked like our team with full potential v our team last time out!?
Well well well, you play your strongest team and hey presto!? ....you get a positive response!? Who would have thought it...?
It kinda makes the last few matches where presumably we haven't played our strongest available team, a bit of a joke on those paying and travelling Gas fans.... because not everyone lives in BS7?
MT comments..... what a plum.
Really liked some contributions today. Scotty was immense and a constant threat. Scored a record breaking goal and finished well.. My m o m.
Baggy looking like the stable defender we've needed all season, added a goal to his CV and hit post too.
CM worked hard and his timely header set up the assist for 2nd goal.
And of course, welcome back, Rossiter.
LT just loves running at them. Nice assist or two . Wing back? Ok for a few minutes, but his best position is attacking wing play.....so the formula was simple all along, MT, play players in their rightful natural positions and balance the team out!?
Also, think about playing 2 up front at some point..(?)
Cheltenham were poor. Heads went down on the first goal. DC has worked a miracle just to get them into the running for relegation escape, but they're slump in form at this critical time and a horrendous last couple of matches might prove too much.
At least he can dust himself down. And take the lesson you can't have your snake and eat it... 🐍
Well done MT for a regulation win, but for me over all, the jury is very much out.
