These comments below are remarkably familiar to the Rotherham Advertiser article. Name me one decent signing he made last summer? Appalling recruitment. Now we expect him to lead a huge recruitment drive here this summer with a Head of Recruitment that was the former Chief Scout when the majority of the dross we want rid of were signed? Madness. Little we can do as fans if the owners feel that's the approach they wanted to take, as somebody else posted what's the alternative, dismiss MT & GF/CS, spend a month searching for replacements, most likely appoint replacements who've been dismissed for something similar in the past, then start looking for players a month or more after every other L1 club started lining up replacements? Why not publish the articles highlighting that MT built a pretty decent squad for Exeter last summer?? Because he's had it in for him, since he was linked with the club and hasn't given him a chance. Even though he was Ben Garners biggest fan 😂.

They signed some of them due to their injury crisis. Look at some of the post reporters in the past. I would rather listen to the majority of fans. I live in Cornwall and know a lot of Exeter and Plymouth fans who rate him. We seem to be the only club they moan about him😂. The majority of players Rotherham signed were young, with a few older gambles. You have to gamble, when you have the smallest budget! Are you going to go and get all the positive ones now. They had a budget way smaller than anyone else in the league. He signed a few players that had been injured, or anyone who would pay for a wage that wasn't a championship wage. One signing for us and he's doing okay and he was on your list😂. At Exeter he did okay when he was given time. If we were in the championship now, with a way lower budget than everyone else, would you be expecting us to be flying and making top signings?? Have some perspective.

Seen this a few times. Somebody made it up and then everyone uses it as fact. I double checked earlier and at least 50% of messages on Twitter when he was sacked, said he should have been given more time and that they could see what he was doing. Over the hill? Only two players signed in the summer were in their 30s. One was 30 and the other was 31. That's way over the hill!!! They have the smallest budget by far in the championship and last season was smaller than some League 1 clubs including Plymouth who went up with not that biggest budget. They had an injury crisis and had to sign that player we had on trial and start him straight away. His time there wasn't as bad as many make out on here. They were expected to finish bottom. He left them third from bottom with an injury hit squad. He might be rubbish for us, but stop making stuff up and saying stuff happened that didn't. Paul Davis the clubs correspondent for the Rotherham Advertiser summed it up well. "Rotherham didn't know it at the time but they were in trouble, deep trouble, right from last summer. Taylor wanted Championship-proven signings and made a host of them. The problem was, most of them were past 30 and had seen too much of the inside of treatment rooms. Sean Morrison, Lee Peltier, Grant Hall, Shane Ferguson, Tyler Blackett (he was 29 then, 30 now), Sam Clucas and Daniel Ayala were gambles and only Morrison, Peltier and Clucas have partially paid off All of them have had injury issues while Hall, Ferguson, Blackett and the now-departed Ayala have averaged eight appearances each. They have been joined on the sidelines, for varying degrees of time, by Jamie Lindsay, Andre Green, Cameron Humphreys, loanee Fred Onyedinma, Cohen Bramall and, lately, Peter Kioso and Jordan Hugill. Other recruits like Cafu, Dexter Lembikisa and Arvin Appiah - the latter two both on loan - have been either not good enough or not bothered enough or both while record-signing striker Sam Nombe hasn't justified Rotherham paying the first seven-figure fee in their history." The prospect of a MT squad overhaul terrifies me. He made a complete pig’s ear of Rotherham’s squad last summer, signing a load of over-the-hill crocks. He is blamed by many for Rotherham’s shocking season. I also vividly remember his speech to the Rovers players when he arrived about how good the squad was and that’s why he took the job etc. Does this guy know a decent player when he sees one? I’m not convinced. Seen this a few times. Somebody made it up and then everyone uses it as fact. I double checked earlier and at least 50% of messages on Twitter when he was sacked, said he should have been given more time and that they could see what he was doing. Over the hill? Out of the out of contract players, I'm not really bothered if any of them leave. Which says it all about the current squad. I would like some to stay, as long as they don't take up too much of the budget. But I won't be losing any sleep tonight.

If true about greenslade then that is extremely disappointing. Not given a chance at all. What is the point? Hopefully the rumours are wrong and he gets a short term deal and a chance to impress. Would you still class him as a youth player?? He's 20 now and not looked like breaking into the first team. He's not been great at non league level. At what stage do we release him?? We have players younger than him that might be given a go instead.

Managed to build a good Exeter side though... The manager we must not mention got promoted back out of League Two at the first attempt. Also the size of club and expectations totally different. Taylor looks out of his depth at a higher level and his record is alarming. The manager we must not mention, finished below the manager we currently had, even though he had a much bigger budget! He also conceded 9 goals, during the duration of a game, but luckily they let up during the 2nd half. Taylor might be rubbish for us, but he has been better than Barton over the last few seasons.

Nobody is going to want him though are they? Bet he is on a decent wage. At his age he isn’t going to go somewhere else and take a pay cut A league two side would have him. We would have to pay him off a bit but that's at least some wage we could get back. He has to want to go. Does he want to go to league 2??

We were left short at the back due to the high press at the opposite end of the pitch. Evans was unlikely not to intercept, but from there we were out numbered. Did you want Wilson to leave the middle earlier, leaving us two on 1 through the middle?? Sometimes you have to say well played to the other team. Getting out of position at the other end cost us, the defence will take the blame though😂 He literally stepped over the ball in the box, I’d expect him to intercept not wave his leg over it. His job is to defend. He’s also just strolling around the pitch. Joke of a player. I will have to see it again, but I didn't notice him step over the ball. It looked like it went to the side of him. He was never good in a back four at Plymouth. He was most effective on the right of a back 3. He's not earned his money at far, but I expect we will be stuck with him for at least another a year. If we move to a back 3, he will be more effective.

Wilson please Fu.K off, you are pathetic and an embarrassment to professional footballers. We were left short at the back due to the high press at the opposite end of the pitch. Interesting! From the article... "Q: Top eight is what you set out in terms of the budget when you first came in, is that the same sort of budget we can expect for this summer? A: Yes. Probably about the same budget but what has changed, and I think it is very important, is the set up for this recruitment. We did not have that set up last summer. So I would say that the budget will be utilised optimally this summer and the selection and recruitment will be done with better information, better signs, better analysis so we hope that we can achieve better results with the same budget." Talk is actually very cheap. We didn't have a "top 8" budget this season and we certainly won't be having one next season either. So you've seen all the other teams budgets?? You have seen our budget?? We don't know how much we paid towards Vale's wages. A lot of the budget was tied up on injured players. Wilson turned down Plymouth, as we offered him better terms. Brown wouldn't have been cheap either, as he did well last season, although his court case would have put the price down a bit! Martin would have been on a high wage. Hunt and Friend came from the championship and would have been on a good wage. You would think Ward and Thomas would be on a good wage, they both came from clubs higher up as well. Even Taylor and McCormick etc would be on an okay wage, as they were highly rated when they signed. Rossitier would be on an okay wage as has only now started playing. A lot of our budget hardly played, but we still have to pay them!

I've been concerned about Wrexham when they were in non league, the owner is buying them promotion, you know they will be in the prem probably in 2 seasons, that's 1 promotion spot already gone in my eyes So far the most they have paid for a player is £300,000. There is a big jump from league 2 to league 1. Then an even bigger jump to the championship. Nobody knows how much they will spend. There was a hold up with the funding for their new stand, so it was delayed, then delayed more and they built a temporary stand for the time being. The owners said they wouldn't pay for it themselves, that they were not going to throw money away like that. They are spending £25 of the governments money instead, but there have delays in getting the funding. We don't know how much is for TV and if they will get bored, if they are a mid table club in League 1.

Kite's hardly set L1 alight but Hartridge has got to be an improvement on the likes of Wilson and Connolly? Assuming there's any truth in these rumours it does seem we're simply swapping the Scouse Mafia for the Doven Crew rather than going out and finding quality players from other clubs. If we sign both, I expect they will be squad players that Taylor knows can do a job, if he needs them. Exeter don't pay big wages, so they won't be on much. We need a balance of these type of players and players on a higher wage. If we are signing them to be first team regulars, then that's worrying.

Kite can't get in Exeter's starting line-up. He's being kept out by Ryan Woods! He was doing well in League 1 under Taylor and is only 23. He might be out of the side, because he wanted to leave in January if rumors are true. If we do sign him as a squad player, that's okay. I doubt he's going to be on a massive wage, so he would be useful to have as a back up, when Ward and others are injured. Not every player we sign we be with a view to them starting every game. We need to build a squad.

Sounds like they won’t be touching the terracing that remains which frankly makes the project sound underwhelming and as if it will be done on the cheap Did he say the terracing would remain how it is? Didn't he mention safe standing in a previous interview, some people prefer to stand. If the aim is to get to the championship, you can't have old fashion terracing can you? I assumed the rest would be safe standing.

Turning out for Coventry today in the FA Cup semi against Man Utd. Played well as well as did all the Coventry team Great semifinal and gutted for them I'm glad we don't have Var. Clubs will be afraid to celebrate a goal soon!

Looks like we are looking more at the longer term. A development side, long contracts for young players that have potential etc.

Decent game of football without too many big chances. Peterborough have better players than we do at this point in time but we pretty much matched them. Likely the last we've seen of finley and marquis imo. I doubt we'll see any of the loanees back either. Martin and sinclair will be at the mem for 1 more year. Anyone that left before clapping the players off needs to have a look at themselves. Especially if they were happy to clap them off at the end of last season. More points and a higher position yet all there seems to be is doom and gloom. Not the best or most entertaining season by any stretch but if all you're going for is to see perfection every week you can go get a man city ticket. Tired of all the whining bar stewards at the moment. See you all next season, refreshed and ready to go again. Honestly, the bunch of aholes that got us relegated to non-league got almost got as much applause as the team today who gave it a real go second half. Dissapointing season but it was pretty sad and undeserved seeing the team out on the pitch in front of about 800 remaining fans. Peterbrough clearly a well drilled, strong, pacy and obviously better side but it wouldn't take all that much for us to get to that level based on what I saw today. Did Taylor and the coaching staff do the lap of the pitch??

Evans is in demand, wonder what Joey makes of that given he was none too complementary and his comments on Radio Bristol may have contributed to his downfall. Fair play to Evans - a long and successful career, would be surprised if JB gets another job. Joey already tweeted about it earlier, calling him a name again😂

Thing is about Rossiter is, he plays on the front foot, he wins the ball and plays it forward quickly. Conteh hasn't quite got that in his game yet. We definitely lost our forward momentum when Rossiter went off. You can also see Rossiter constantly talking, organising and encouraging, his influence in massive. I'm sure Conteh will come good but It's quite frustrating watching him play sometimes. Tackles and hussles well but as soon as he gets the ball the the play slows down or goes backwards. Needs more drive to push forward at pace He does pass the ball forward as well, he played one good forward ball to the left wing, from the middle of the park. But more often than not, he will look for the easy pass. Not every player is going to be an attacking threat though. At times every team needs a player, who will win the ball back and keep it simple. He is still young and learning, this is his first season in the football league and first few months in League 1. So hopefully he can add to his game. If he learns to drive with the ball and becomes more of an attacking threat, he will be too good for this level!
