Totally agree they're all hypocrits, how did Gordon Brown become PM. He was told he could be PM after being locked in the toilet or was that Blair🤔 Couldn't have been Blair he was too busy killing innocent Iraqis and British Soldiers in an illegal war.

John Swinney seems favourite and probably means any Vote of Confidence is likely to fail as the Greens would back him. Kate Forbes may run too, she just missed out last time. Didn't Nicola Sturgeon say that the PM lacked a democratic mandate as it was done effectively behind closed doors and should go to the polls? Yes, this was brought up on 5Live this morning that the entire SNP were calling for it on Truss & Sunak. I was surprised not to hear SuperGas calling in to thold them to the same standards I guess politicians are hypocrits. Who knew? Totally agree they're all hypocrits, how did Gordon Brown become PM.

Yatton I don't take offence when flung at me, after all it's only political banter and I'd still have a beer with you, but don't insult my wife. I wouldn't insult your family so please don't mine. Like I said it wasn’t meant as an insult in anyway but if you’ve taken it as one I apologise. I’ll just stick to calling you a loon from now on….. cheers 🍻 One day we’ll meet and I’ll gladly buy you a beer or two mate 😃👍 I'll take that 👍

Thanks for insulting my wife. In fact she voted to remain. (As you know I didn't vote) Instead of insults how about answering the question or is that beyond your capabilities. Clearly a very astute lady. 😘 Thank you Stu. The reason she voted remain was due to her being a financial advisor and how it potentially would affect us here in France (not that it has in any significant way). As she said she voted with her head not her heart and had we been living in the UK at the time she would have voted to leave.

Why would she vote remain I wonder ? anyway to answer your question…… no. Thank you for your informative and constructive reply to my question. So based on that you must blame the French for the illegal immigrants coming over on small boats to the UK and believe we should be able to use the RNLI to pick them up and take them back to France as that's what Ireland is expecting to do.

They spent a fortune converting an RAF plane to do this. 🤔 Apparently it was on other duties in Europe. Cameron's itinerary was pretty complex (Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan and Mongoli across 5 days) - no way to do that on commercial flights so you have to charter. He was also busy asking countries who are traditionally sympathetic to Russia to turn away from Putin so safety and security was also a key concern planning the trip - and the way they did it was probably the best all-round decision. Been on the Easyjet website and I can't find any routing to cover those countries over 5 days.

Anyone think the Irish Government are taking the proverbial over blaming the UK for their migrant problems. My wife does and she's Irish and proud . Your wife is obvs a Brexit loving loon like you I’d guess France. Complete denial of any and every problem thrown up by your ludicrous Brexit. 🙄🇬🇧 Thanks for insulting my wife. "Could". Why not report something that has happened not something that could happen Haven't we heard this all before, I remember posts about Britons face shortages at Christmas with potentially not enough turkeys to go around and a potential shortage of Christmas trees. It never happened. Christ we have empty shelves and shortages in supermarkets here Are you seriously still denying the food shortages we witness everyday on our supermarket shelves as 🐂 💩? 🙄🇬🇧 That's not what I said. Were there shortages over Christmas that was reported.....No. I know you won't give a toss but we have shortages and empty shelves in supermarkets here...how do you explain that? Surely not Brexit!!

"Britons could face higher food prices, and even empty supermarket shelves, as new post-Brexit border fees are introduced this week, industry figures have warned. A maximum charge of £145 will apply on imports of plant and animal products, such as cheese and fish, entering the UK through the Port of Dover and Eurotunnel from Tuesday. The fundamental change is huge to the nation's food supply," Nigel Jenney, chief executive of the Fresh Produce Consortium (FPC), told the Money blog when we first covered this story in January. "I would certainly expect to see price rises because these costs simply couldn't be absorbed by the industry." James Barnes, chairman of the Horticultural Trades Association, said this month that the policy "feels like it is constructed on the back of an envelope at best" and that the charges would "undoubtedly increase costs" and increase the likelihood of empty shelves in supermarkets. He said as well as higher prices and a more limited variety of products available in UK shops and restaurants, "we now might begin to observe a decline of EU businesses trading into the UK, simply because they have been priced out". Marc Forgione, director general of the Institute of Export and International Trade (IEIT), said there was another risk beyond price rises and potential shrinkflation. He told the Money blog earlier this year: "There is also a concern that has been raised with me by some UK-based businesses that their suppliers in the EU will frankly take a view that it's too complicated to deal with these changes and withdraw from the market." Mr Forgione said that over time the UK will have "the most efficient border in the world", due to digitisation and the BTOM's assessment of goods based on risk, but it will create friction for EU businesses where there was none. news.sky.com/story/money-latest-personal-finance-mortgages-brexit-sky-news-blog-13040934?postid=7600962#liveblog-bodyYou forgot to add…. ….. What's the thoughts on Nationalising the railways. Me don't have any faith in it being any better,I remember how bad it was before and where is the money going to come from to invest? The unions will be happy.

Britain now the world's 4th biggest exporter 👍👍 Now? We have been since 2019. Also worth noting this is for goods & services. For just goods, we're not even in the top 11. However Germany 3rd, Netherlands 4th, Italy 7th, Belgium8th & France 9th all are. All in the EU too.. UK moved up from 7th in 2021. UK is ranked 8th on manufactured goods. Britain is the largest net exporter of financial services in the world, and the second largest exporter of financial services overall, behind only the US. Britian is the third biggest exporter of travel services globally.

Cheers Yatton 🍺🍺 Although it's snowing I’m over in France last week of May and first week of June in the Moho. Visiting Brittany area for the first time ,Carantec for 3 days then Quimper for 4 days . Second week might head for the gulf of Morbihan or go further south if we’re chasing the sun ! Got any tips for me ? Loved your last tip to go on the great Bernard’s pass 👍 Morning Yatton. Hope people don't mind me posting this here (there's only a few that ever post on this thread). Got some ideas for you. Spoke to friends who have visited these areas (we haven't) Normandy..... 1. Mont Saint Michel. This is a must to visit. Unfortunately very busy with tourists but end of May hopefully less so. It is a UNESCO world heritage site. 2. If you are into WW2 history visit Saint Mere Eglise for the museum beaches and cemetery. Brittany..... 1.Saint Marlo. A historic and attractive city. 2. Rennes and Vannes our friends said were also worth visiting. If heading South We have been told the town of La Rochelle is beautiful. Our friends said it's one their favourite towns in France. From La Rochelle drive across the causeway to Ile de Re. Ile d'aix is also worth a day visit but this is by ferry. Hope this helps!

Forgot to ask what ferry crossing route are you taking? Euro tunnel That's a hell of drive from Calais to the places in Brittany you've mentioned some 700km. Are you planning on touring Normandy before? If not Portsmouth to St Marlo ferry crossing would save you 500km.

It's the 80th anniversary of D-Day this June, we stayed near Port en Bessin and travelled to Ranville (Pegasus Bridge) through Caen, Arromanche, Omaha beach/American cemetery, Sainte-Mere-Eglise through to Cherbourg. Also took in Bayeux. Had a lovely time and would do it again. Strewth……Omaha Beach…..of all the landing sites on D-Day that one was the shortest of short straws to pick. Just can’t imagine what went through the mind the brave souls on those landing craft. Bad enough watching it on Saving Private Ryan from the comfort of a cosy armchair. Ever lasting respect to those that were there…… My Grandfather was a Captain with the Royal Engineers and was in landing craft at D-day . He landed on either Juno or Gold Beach. Not sure which as the Engineers landed on both and he never talked about his experience so never divulged which beach. If asked he would just clam up and never said a word. On the reverse he was more than happy to discuss his experience on the beaches of Dunkirk. I was so proud of him.
