The game I hate was 16.12.2000. Ian Holloway picked 4 CBs to keep Peter Thorne quiet who generally played well against Rovers; he scored a hat trick.

Impossible to discuss anything beyond wildly hypothetical what the best option is as we have no clue when we'll be out of this. At best I think we'll be looking at starting the next season on time and that's only possible if we decide to can off the current one. If we keep the current one going then we'll do well if this doesn't impact the season schedules for a few years yet. The Prem lot won't want to play any more regularly than they have and will chuck their toys out of their pram if they don't get a summer holiday so it's all a bit of a mess. A lot of Prem players would have been involved in Euro 20.

Even if restrictions are lifted on non essential employment (professional sport), say June, match fitness will be at least a month on. So restart season mid July. Game time could be reduced to say 60mins for the remaining games and for next season to allow up to four games a week to be played.

Surely by the time the season resumes injuries to most of the players should be over and squad at least at pre-season level. I worry that if the players return straight into competitive football after perhaps 3-4 months without playing any football, there is the potential to sustain a lot of injuries in a short space of time. Davies injury is a long term one and THD seems to be constantly injured anyway, so we wouldn't have too much depth. The loanees give Garner options and mean we have a stronger bench. Most be likely to be closed door friendlies before, plus most mid table teams will not be going full belt, but saving their squads for the next season which will start almost immediately.

Another thing along with contracts, that is completely up in the air but you raise a good point. I would imagine that if the remaining games are going to played this summer, clubs will come up with an internal agreement to extend the length of the loan contract to cover them. With the injuries we have, we'll be lacking in numbers if we simply let them go back, but again that could change by the summer. Surely by the time the season resumes injuries to most of the players should be over and squad at least at pre-season level.

Sunak and Johnson promise £330 billion to back up economy, that will have to be repaid by us, not Lord Guernsey or Hani of course.

It seems over 70s will have to stay home, any caught out and about will be shot for their own protection.

At a guess I would expect most clubs to survive this season. Then the poor and not so rich clubs will do what the worlds other employers have been doing for last 50 years, cut employees and wages. The 20k a week championship player will become an endangered species.

Some nice sentiments here, but if I had some spare pennies, it would go to family & friends in need. The FA, EFL, PFA & PL, TV companies, should be the ones to address the issue. I would suggest most of us have gone through financial difficulties at some point, and from my experience there has been little help from Banks, BS or the State for that matter. I’ve been lucky to have the ability to get my head down & work through it. There are a lot of low paid workers that will lose their jobs over this, in the next few months or have to take pay cuts. There will be some able to get their heads down & get through it too - but a lot won’t, some will be Rovers fans. That’s just financially, there is the health issue too. However, to put things into perspective, we only have 4 home games left this season, if it costs us £50k per game, in lost income, then that’s £200k less income, than what was expected last week. Now I realise that some clubs are run so badly that £200k could well be the difference between survival or not, but in our case, to help through the shortfall, some sort of player wage sacrifice could be adopted to include the first team, coaches & manager. Along with that, we have an employed CEO, who despite not knowing much of what’s going on, I’m sure he draws a decent salary, so some reduction should happen there. I’m also sure that the authorities will allow some space on the FFP rules, so the owner could ‘top up’ if so inclined. No apologies for the negativity, it’s how I feel, regarding the way the club from top to bottom ,is being run. I doubt if it's £50k assuming they will not refund season tickets, plus they save on "gig" wages, police and players win bonuses (if any).

Rovers were walking it, all over Ipswich, not surprising, Rovers were their bogey side with a 2 to 1 win record over them. Then the ref disallowed a perfectly good Bobby Gould goal. They got a jammy equaliser near the end.

Start the summer break now. Resume mid June, hopefully the pandemic will have finished by then, if not we're all screwed.

Well I’m a season ticket holder and I for one won’t be demanding my money back if all the remaining games are played behind closed doors, the club need the money more than me. I signed up to a season ticket knowing full well that there’s a possibility of the fixtures not being fulfilled, how ever unlikely that may be. It's going to impact on earnings and savings. I'm season ticket holder, but if I've got less to spend it will be one of the things I cut back.

Rovers 4 home games left. 3 if they let Saturday go ahead.
They could limit the crowd to ST holders only, so no queues, reduced attendance.
Closed doors means they would have to reduce ST prices for holders next season or fans won't bother to renew.
End the season now, obviously no playoffs so reduced promotion and relegation, L1 Bolton and Southend relegated they're certs anyway. Coventry and Rotherham promoted.

Not a fan of JCH taking pens though his success rate is pretty good, got lucky with last nights, left footers don't give me much confidence! give em to boom, boom Alfie! Richard Walker best one i remember! I dont think Walker ever missed one for us did he? I think Lambert only missed one. Anyway, JCH record is ok. We just have to remember the two penalties Nichols took the last of which probably being the worst penalty I have ever seen! I think Rickie missed one against Crewe 08/09 season. Rovers were going really well, after that hardly won a game.

How did that work out for you in the end it worked out well thanks. The club used Tony Craigs 600th appearance to turn any negativity into positive energy well before the match even started. Players were transformed by playing for one of the squad leaders instead of the manager and it was back to business as usual without anyone dragging their heels and not playing near their potential. The fans could smell the gas and players like Alfie were stoking the atmosphere up even more before kick off. A fine effort from fans and players alike and a reminder of how the Rovers should be. Fingers crossed for a change of mindset from the lads, a better understanding of what motivates the players and another win or two to secure safety in the league and steady the ship. Perhaps TC took control of the dressing room, decided the tactics and did the pep talk.

Now Garners said that, I think he really has put his job on the line. Bennett scores the winner tonight, he's safe. No change in Bennett and Garners got to go before Rochdale.

Interesting to hear Garner in his pressie saying he's "not looking down the table".... Comforting.... Not.... Every Rovers fan will be checking the Tranmere result. If Garner isn't he's an idiot.
