West Ham struggled against the the physicality of Shrewsbury. They are one of those teams where you count the players to make sure they have only 11. If DC had been willing to settle for a point and used Sweeney and Brown as subs we would all be happy now. But it's not in his nature, and if that decent chance before their 2nd had been taken, we would be ecstatic. And they subbed their front Bruisers because muscle didn't work against Craig and Broadbent.

They have a Derby player who they can't use tonight and Cahill who isn't ready. Craig looks surplus to me.

DC .So pleased we have him. Amen brother. UTG! For those who doubt DC, compare the home game against Doncaster and the tactical changes made that day with the away game.

Having watched the penalty, the Ref must have felt the ball would have been knocked back to where he was standing, which was clearly blocking the Bantams player next to him. He got in the way a lot yesterday.

I remember Nathan Blisset running us ragged for Kidderminster.
In 1965 Joe Harverty playing for Millwall tore us apart, Rovers signed him.

Really hoping Shrewsbury give Blackpool a tough match tonight in the Checkertrade trophy following them losing Saturday. Not the best prep playing 2 games before us on Saturday and we need all the help we can get away Well Shrewsbury won on pens after extra time - That's not great preparation for our game playing in that cold and frost for so long only to lose again. No excuses Saturday we should be getting a result in this game - over to you DC. No extra time straight to penalties, Blackpool did fairly well in the game according to reports, and a rated player, McAliister had a run out after being injured for months.

17' - Big, big save from Lumley. Max Lowe makes a great run towards the box and slips in Payne, who is denied by the imposing Lumley. (0-0)

I think he replaced Jake Gosling, don't think he was an improvement. And I bet it was on a higher wage.

I don’t get your point? Shrewsbury are having the kind of freak season that can happen every now and then (see Leicester 2015-16) and we’re level on points with Doncaster and Oldham. Doncaster are in their promotion momentum season after coming up last year and Oldham are an established L1 club. We’re in our second season back in L1 and until last summer, had barely spent any money on adding quality additions to the squad that got us up from the conference and L2. Nichols does look like money wasted as this point though, and I’m sure DC regrets that signing now. Having some kind of scouting network would probably help him out a bit, though. No Shrewsbury just made some very shrewd signings both permanent and on loan that you have to give them credit for. The likes of Nolan, Payne, Rodman, Beckles and Morris would walk into our team and were all players im sure we could easily have signed. I told Rovers about Nolan and Beckles myself while they were playing for Grimsby and Accrington respectively Anyone heard the Snake will be loaned out to Shrews?

I wonder who was really in charge yesterday, there must have been a decent halftime rollaking because they played better, but the subs ruined it. Moving Partington to RB and Leads to wide right was a disaster. And as Steve said taking Gaffers off was unbelievable. I wonder if MS had the players in today.

MS defended the groundsmen saying they had taken on a pitch that wasn't theirs. Mind, he also defended most of the players, the Ref and the pasties.

Doncaster are the type of team Rovers generally do well against, sideways and nothing up front. But that is with a motivated mobile Bodin which he was not today. I felt sorry for Ellis and Gaffers with poor long balls lumped up. And now the subs, Lines comes on, Partington goes to RB and Leadbitter moves into a parking space on the right wing, it puts Rovers down to 10 (in)effective players. Gaffers comes off and is replaced by, um, Nichols it said, can't confirm that. Telford did see a bit of action but it was all to late. MS sounded a loser before and after the game, get well soon DC

Not sure if it made any difference, I think Rovers traveled to Gills on Friday. Gills midweek game against Carlisle was called off. So Rovers miss a days preparation and Gills gain one.

Eastville was a mudheap, but long ball teams liked it. Wolves would flood their pitch before games. The Frome did it for free at Eastville. Rovers bought a full back from Wolves, Gwyn Jones, sliding tackle and thump it up to Alfie Biggs

What i mean is that dc has often got it right when hes released players[sorry for them]. I think you are right. I cannot think of any player that DC has released who has gone on to do better? A lot on here said we should have kept Montano, but even he cannot get into a league two side right now. Have we even played against any of the players that DC released? Balanta. Carlisle
