Happy with that for a start. Good goalscoring record and Clarke will know all about him.
Welcome to the gas Jamie

The only thing to take from that is the stadium update I guess. At least it seems to suggest the building will start sooner rather than later.
Big budget? Well that worked well in league 2, and even in league 1 we were fed the same crap. Really can't wait for the signings to begin and we have something more than a beach towel or going to a car boot sale to read about. I care less about the stadium than the signings this summer...but I can't see how or why the building will start sooner rather than later! Start now (ie tomorrow) and we still (probably) miss the start of the 2015/16 season, so it's reasonable to guess there is at least a season's delay...waffle will not deflect this, and only more money (which we don't have) will change it. By sooner rather than later I meant that at least they are actually looking at clearing the way for the work to begin rather than our previous update of, err, nothing to report. To be honest after reading some worrying rumours about Sainsbury's that have been doing the rounds lately that comment just reassured us that it is all still going ahead, albeit later than initially planned. I don't care any less about the stadium myself, it is vital to our whole existence to me and NEEDS to happen if we ever hope to be anything more than a poor run down old conference outfit. The players we could attract in the UWE would be far superior to what the Mem attracts.

I saw him play over two years for the youth team and he improved massively in his second year. He is skilful, can cross with both feet and is a good finisher. He isn't the biggest but wingers aren't always - look at Cox for Leyton Orient one of the best or maybe the best wide player in L1 and 2. Alfie is a confident lad who likes to express himself on the pitch unfortunately he was playing in a struggling team and needed experienced players around him to guide him and encourage him. He can definitely make it in the game but in my view has to learn when to attack the full back and when to release quickly cos he can hang onto the ball a bit too long. I hope he stays with us - the best is yet to come. I hope his heart is still in it to play for us. Completely agree. Unfortunately too many of our know it all fans seem to have written him off already (not necessarily on here but certainly other forums!) Premier league scouts wouldn't want him if he didn't have something about him.

Alistair Durden on twitter has just said that Salisbury's chairman has said there have been no enquiries for Jamie White from BRFC Wow ok! Well, now I'm intrigued. To be fair how often do you hear a chairman coming out saying "no formal approach has been made" only for the player in question to be sold almost immediately!

Anyone know what sort of forward he is? Presumably he has a bit of pace about him. Decent goal record too.

I can't see how anybody would seriously say yes here to be honest...
Clarke wouldn't want him following his "fitness is massive" speech anyway.

Played for Hartlepool his whole career but only managed 13 appearances last season according to Wiki. Was he injured?
Seems like a good signing on paper and would know DC too. Would be happy if he is fit and can play 30+ games.

I wait with bated breath to see what the 'special offer' will be. A queue jump ticket to Santa's Grotto maybe? fingers crossed...

Good, off the wage bill. can't believe anyone thought we would get money for him 15 goals in a relegation season and still under contract. I agree I am glad he's off the wage bill but surely we could have got a fee?

Release clause? How does that work then? Is it like football manager where a minimum fee has to be reached by a bidder which we have to accept?

Promising stuff Bideford, 4 signings in one go will certainly make for an eventful day. Might have something interesting to talk about too! Never thought I'd say this but I'm looking forward to Monday now, hope your source is right!

Very surprised in this, massive gamble for a league 1 side to take! Imagine if we looked at signing a striker with a modest scoring record and horrendous injury history! All hell would break lose especially as a fee would be required.
Sad to see him go as others have said but I have faith that Clarke can bring in players of a good standard, who aren't permanently in the treatment room.

Would we still get £££ from any Lambert sale? I'd assume so, will probably be a % of any profit they make from the transfer.

Well we have been crying out for non league talent so this is the sort of player we should be looking at. Good luck to the lad.

I must admit I have no idea what this thread is about as every time I open it my line of sight is immediately drawn to that tidy little image by your profile hanham.... But the title 'Don't believe the ad's' next to a pic of a half naked woman's ass makes me wonder what went wrong with your 'product', did you not get what you were expecting?...

The more I think about it the more I think it could just be a way of getting some sort of financial compensation deal to compensate for the losses gained by getting relegated. We might be rewarded with some sort of package, which would be more realistic than actually being reinstated.

The main thing confusing me is that Matt Philips left back in 2010 so not sure how this would effect the season just gone or how it gave them any illegal advantage over us. Time will tell i guess. I hope it gets sorted sooner rather than later though so DC can get recruiting.

WHAT??? The fact that they released this statement to the public (very unlike our board to be communicating) suggests there could well be some case here...
i can't get too excited about this yet as most rovers related things result in disappoint but what a massive let off this would be.
And to send the cheats of Wycombe down would be more satisfying than pretty much any other club.
At the end of the day we are non league because our on and off the field performance has been shambolic but (and a massive but) if there were legs in this then I would definitely take any chance of getting back into the league!
Possibly why the club have been so silent in recent weeks??
