I'm not panicking on the transfer front at all because I have total faith in DC. But with only 3 players signed so far have we missed out on our 1'2'3 targets???

I think it's hard to say. Some positions we may have lost out on 1,2&3. Other's we could be waiting on our first choice.
Good players are in the highest demand.
However, I'd like to think we had more than 3 players lined up for each position if I'm honest.

Probably.
From the Bristol Post:
"I know what my budget is, I know we're not near the big spenders in this league. But we look to overachieve every single year anyway. It's about getting the right product that comes into the club.
"I have been surprised how the market has been to be honest. Good League One players demanding very high money. It's important we don't go off from where we are and what we are trying to achieve."
What it could mean
The budget comment could be a little concerning for fans. Chairman Steve Hamer confirmed Clarke believed his budget to be a 'top six budget' for the season ahead a few months ago.
Bristol Rovers Chairman Steve Hamer has spoken earlier this summer about the club's budget
Coupled with Clarke's latest comments about his surprise at the inflated value of the current transfer market, it's reasonable to infer Rovers have had bids rejected with clubs valuing their players higher than the Gas expected. This has already been seenwith Peteborough pair Tom Nichols and Luke James. It could also mean Rovers have been unwilling to match the large wage demand of some of their transfer targets.

Been thinking the same - surely DC had a list before the transfer window and the longer it goes on..........

DC said he had three names for all positions - presume he didn't have a fourth and that's why the delay.

You just have to look at Rafa at Newcastle saying the market is crazy this summer.
I wonder if the bumper TV deal for the PL is having a knock on affect down the leagues this summer?

PL tv deal I think does have a fair bit to do with many clubs' struggles. PL greed is to blame for a lot of things wrong in the game.

It's Thursday again tomorrow - press conference day! - just saying! If all we get on Thursday is Keith Brookman pandering to DC with questions about how well the pre season is going or D.C. Saying hard work is going on behind the scenes to find new signings then I give up ! Season tickets don't come cheap, as a family we purchased four, I'm honestly not sure I've done the right thing as kids can switch off pretty quickly if we are not competing... and at the moment this is the least excited our house has felt about a new season in years as in my heart I feel this squad cannot compete without an injection of real quality upfront and a stopper at the back, and our rivals are getting stronger every day with signings from the Premiership and Championship. Perhaps there will be a player announcement... for the first time in two weeks I won't be logging in by the hour to check.

As I've said elsewhere though- it's not for an employee of Bristol rovers to challenge DC. Keith does a good job. It's the local media that are missing

Heard from a very good inside source that a signing may happen in the next three days. Apparently there is a player (maybe his agent) who is trying to play off Rovers against another L1 club possibly Northampton for his signature. Rovers stance is sign for them then if you want second best. The selling club are expected to lower their valuation as time goes on without the 2 clubs trying to outbid each other. First to blink looses. Patience is a virtue

He's a defensive midfielder and DC said he wants to add one to the squad. Could be a possibility. It has to be noted that Northampton apparently have a few quid to play with now after a Chinese company bought 60% of the club.

Yes, targets have been missed. So don't expect any new signings soon. Once again, we been left behind by other clubs who are signing players while we just watch.

DC said he had three names for all positions - presume he didn't have a fourth and that's why the delay. Pretty sure it was SH who said that not DC, but until a club knows which players are available and how much they'll cost to sign how can they draw up a list?
