To my way of thinking we are just a goalkeeper and one midfielder nearer a better team.DC says we now have two players for each position- well that is in name only. To improve the team to top 6 material we need the following Goalkeepers Smith. Slocombe RB Leadbitter. Partington RCB Lockyer Burn LCB New Player New Player LB Brown Arsenal Youngster RMF Bodin New Player CMF Lines New Player CMF Sercombe New Player LMF New Player New Player CF New Player Gaffney CF New Player Harrison I am not convinced that Sinclair, Ollie Clarke, James Clarke, Ryan Broom or Byron Moore are good enough to obtain a top 6 finish but all would be OK as cover as a mid table team..We urgently need two starters up front and preferably a third to make 5 strikers.. We have no cover whatsoever if Bodin happened to be injured at the start and the same can be said for LMF and LCB. We now have no real pace i.e. Wingers other than Byron Moore who last season was just not up to the standard required. Personally the standard of Player coming in I would like to see is. CB Pierre from Wycombe and Sonny Bradley from Plymouth CF Tom Nichols from Peterborough,Matt Godden from Stevenage,Paddy Madden from Scunny Winger not sure. CMF not sure but definitely a minimum of 4 or 5 BEFORE the opening match. Sorry Steve I don't agree with you over Ollie Clarke, he was outstanding last year. In fact if he continues in the same vain of form we will have job to keep hold of him in the January transfer window. My thoughts exactly. He's a young man who's improving. I look forward to seeing how he does this season. 👍

Have Sincs and Ollie stolen your lunch money or something? You've never liked them and both are good enough for a top 6 finish.

Yes Ollie did play well before quite a serious injury. I am not convinced he is consistent or good enough for a top six side. I may be proved wrong and great if I am.

mariobalotelli, I respect your opinion but just don't feel either are good enough for a top six side. I hope I am proved wrong. I like all rovers players just have my own opinion on their standard. Ollie Clarke played very well in the second half of last season until his injury which I believe was pretty serious so we shall have to see how he has recovered and whether we see the ie of before last xmas or the Ollie after. As regards Sinclair IMO he is a player with a big heart but average ability and we need players with more quality to progress. Just my opinion.I would have Sincs in the squad.

But it would be very pretty like swindons midfield last season.

Lines and Sercombe in the middle - who is going to the defensive stuff? Thankfully stevek isn't the manager.

Nichols and Godden too? Don't like the look of that pairing.

I've had a quick look, all I can find is speculation about their wealth. How much did they buy the club for? How much of their own money have they put in? Why did they take out a £10 million charge against the Memorial Stadium? They don't like to boast about thier wealth that's why. A reporter from thier country was interviewed when they took over. She said that's as well as the banks, they have hotels and other businesses all over the world. She said no one knows their total worth, but basically they are minted. They are also good friends with even richer people, they have contacts all over the place. Don't think moneys a problem, they just do things the right way. Yeah I agree, thing is when we won promotion everyone was saying that our team is way ahead of our infrastructure and we need to improve the setup behind the scenes to bring it up to scratch with what's going on on the pitch. Wael has been doing that as well as giving our best players and manager new contracts and signing newer better players to replace the ones leaving so we are constantly progressing on and off the pitch. I really don't know what people expect , we have an 11000 capacity stadium you can only do so much with that income and I think Wael DC and Hamer are doing it the right way. I wouldn't want us to blow large portions of our budget on one or two players and then leaving the squad looking bare because every time weve done that weve been relegated.

Let's get the strikers through the door first. dreaming of a double signing day of Nichol/Godden and Lambert.

I think Clarke and Lines have done really well as a 2 in the middle. We need to see improvements in other areas of the team rather than in central midfield, which has been really solid in my opinion. If Sercombe can come in and be an improvement on Lines, then great, but he'll be a bloody good player if he is. With him and Sincs too, we are very well stocked in the middle of the park. A centre back, a centre forward and a left-winger and we'll be good to go.

I would hate to see us pay 900k for godden as it would be way over the odds and likewise i dont want us paying lambert 6k per week. I reckon wael and dc are looking for the right players at a fair price and im warming to their way of thinking. We might well get nicholls in next week,he seems decent and is only 23.

What absolute junk analysis. One of our best players who has proven to be an asset over the last three seasons isn't good enough because you haven't seen him play since he got injured? How does that even work?

I really rate Ollie Clarke.
One of our best at what he does imo.
