Are people seriously suggesting that the list of targets DC had is completely exhausted ? I know this place is prone to the odd melt down but this really does take the biscuit. If we'd signed 4 on frees would that make people happier - of course not we'd have the 'where's the ambition' moan. Let DC do his job if it takes another 2 weeks then so be it.

I don't think SH has lists of players he likes, he may have the lists of players DC likes. 10 players were mentioned with 3 candidates per position - so have we missed out on circa 30 players thus far?! Well that seems a logical explanation to me.

A lot has been made about the 'top 6' quote. Here's an idea - it's not that we have budget equal or better than the top six, it's that we have a budget capable of getting us a top 6 finish. It's all about words, meanings and assumptions. Is that an assumption? It's an exploration of a possible meaning of what he said. He hasn't said we have a budget equal in monetary terms to the 6 largest budgets. He says a top 6 budget ie a budget equal to those teams who will end up in the top 6.

Think people are missing the point.
His 'I have 3 players' for each position is a starting point.
He's illustrating that he's prepared. Failure to match the list is not failure. Judge the window at the end.
There will have been players on the list that were non starters. There will be players that we 'suddenly' get a chance with that we had no idea about before. Plenty still out there.
Have we missed out on targets? - yes!
But can we still sign players that can improve BRFC, - easily.

If nobody comes in today then with the team off to Portugal there is a very good chance nobody will come in next week. Its OK in DC we trust but come next friday we will be two weeks away from the big kick off with a side that are at best a very mid to bottom table side.It is very clear from the two double friendlies played that our squad is well below the standard of last seasons squad.

I'm amazed that BRFC's record signing was a mere circa £400k for some player back in the 80s (can't remember - Tilson? Someone please confirm) and haven't signed anyone even close to that since; over 30 years ago?! I can't see DC spending half that, so we don't have a top 6 budget do we.

Youve said Northampton has a bid accepted by Rangers! Stand by what i said though, i can only see us picking unnattached and loans.

Definitely was Andy Tillson as regards a transfer fee but we have to remember that the wages now take up a lot of money so whilst the actual transfer fees may not be beaten the clubs wage bill surely will.

Good point. Still think the Gas is money tight and there I was thinking we had billionaire owners. Evolution, not revolution... blah blah
