If we can get in 4 players that I think we are missing over next few days I would be less worries. 2 strikers - Lambert and someone with a bit of pace would be nice. 1 Winger - to play opposite side to bodin 1 Centre Back - Sweeney would be fantastic.
If we were to get 3 more I don't know what positions I would like to fill

Yes, targets have been missed. So don't expect any new signings soon. Once again, we been left behind by other clubs who are signing players while we just watch. Once again? Does that mean ANOTHER promotion on the cards? You're talki. Like we've been getting relegated every year. Get a grip

I don't think SH has lists of players he likes, he may have the lists of players DC likes. 10 players were mentioned with 3 candidates per position - so have we missed out on circa 30 players thus far?!

Probably. From the Bristol Post: "I know what my budget is, I know we're not near the big spenders in this league. But we look to overachieve every single year anyway. It's about getting the right product that comes into the club. "I have been surprised how the market has been to be honest. Good League One players demanding very high money. It's important we don't go off from where we are and what we are trying to achieve." What it could mean The budget comment could be a little concerning for fans. Chairman Steve Hamer confirmed Clarke believed his budget to be a 'top six budget' for the season ahead a few months ago. Bristol Rovers Chairman Steve Hamer has spoken earlier this summer about the club's budget Coupled with Clarke's latest comments about his surprise at the inflated value of the current transfer market, it's reasonable to infer Rovers have had bids rejected with clubs valuing their players higher than the Gas expected. This has already been seenwith Peteborough pair Tom Nichols and Luke James. It could also mean Rovers have been unwilling to match the large wage demand of some of their transfer targets. A lot has been made about the 'top 6' quote. Here's an idea - it's not that we have budget equal or better than the top six, it's that we have a budget capable of getting us a top 6 finish. It's all about words, meanings and assumptions.

Here's a thought (shock horror), perhaps the owners aren't quite as wealthy as we were led to believe?

Yes, suspect we missed the boat on signing 10 or 11 players...presumably it's now a question of 4th or 5th choices plus a handful of loans. That said still time to sign two or three players which is all I expect now plus 3 or 4 loans.

Relax. Still 3 weeks to go until the start of the season. DC could have a number of aces up his sleeve. As to DC commenting on wages and fees being too high - remember when he said £10mn wasn't enough for Matty Taylor - it's all mind games.
Also remember the goalie meltdown. That turned out well.

And not the one where the Bristol Post claimed they were billionaires when they first joined, because that was shown to be BS.

Sure you are capable of using the internet and not ending up on the Bristol Post website. I've had a quick look, all I can find is speculation about their wealth. How much did they buy the club for? How much of their own money have they put in? Why did they take out a £10 million charge against the Memorial Stadium?

A reporter from thier country was interviewed when they took over. She said that's as well as the banks, they have hotels and other businesses all over the world. She said no one knows their total worth, but basically they are minted. They are also good friends with even richer people, they have contacts all over the place. Don't think moneys a problem, they just do things the right way.

We apparently want to sign Luke James, yet he signs for Forest Gumps. Seems we do not even have a top six L2 budget.......,

Probably thought they would more likely say yes, as they would be getting 2 players off thier books. Plus that's if thier chairman was telling the truth!
